Chapter 195 They Spend the Night Together

Angel's hands, soft as jelly, wrapped around William's neck like seaweed, her eyes all gooey with affection as she stared at him. She could totally picture the ripped body under that black suit, making her all swoony and starry-eyed.

Angel licked her dry lips, feeling her heart race like it was about to bust out of her chest. Tonight, she was gonna make it a night to remember with William. She was gonna be his girl, the only one he loved, the queen of the Fisher family!

Thinking about it, Angel couldn't hold back her excitement and pressed herself against him, wishing she could just melt into him.

William was wrapped up tight by Angel, her soft body so close he could even hear her quick breaths. For some reason, William found this whole thing weird, even kinda gross.

Back when they were stuck in that tiny dark room, and those jerks let the dogs loose to scare him, he felt all warm and fuzzy when Marjorie held him. Not like this weird vibe he was getting from Angel now.

'Are you sure Angel is Marjorie?' Margaret's words suddenly echoed in William's head.

Was the woman in front of him really Marjorie? This thought zipped through William's mind.

"William, remember when we were locked in that tiny dark room together? You were scared of the big dogs and always needed me to hold you, just like now," Angel said, casually tugging at her nightgown, showing off her full breasts and the red plum blossom-shaped birthmark on her shoulder.

Seeing the birthmark on Angel's shoulder, William snapped back to reality. 'How could I doubt Marjorie? Angel is Marjorie.'

But his feelings for Marjorie had totally changed from eight years ago.

Eight years had passed, and they both grew up. It was normal for those feelings to change.

"Marjorie, don't do this." William, feeling all awkward being held by Angel, pushed her away and stood up, straightening his clothes all fancy-like.

"William, don't you like me?" Angel's face changed a bit, not expecting William to push her away like that. "Did you forget you said you liked me and wanted to marry me?"

William paused and frowned. "Marjorie, those were just kid's words."

"Kid's words? But I was serious." Angel stood up, looking at him seriously, her tone heated.

She was super upset inside. 'Why is William so cold to me? I've been dropping hints like crazy, yet as a strong and mature man, he's totally unresponsive?'

Angel's pretty eyes filled with tears, and she grabbed William's arm, murmuring, "William, I really like you. When I fell off the cliff and got seriously hurt, thinking of you kept me going. All these years, I've been thinking about you non-stop. You said you'd marry me, you can't back out now, can you?"

Talking about the past, a wave of guilt hit William out of nowhere. Yeah, he did say those words back then. And Marjorie had taken that fall off the cliff to save him. He owed her big time.

"Marjorie, can we talk about this later?" William gently patted Angel's hand, sounding kinda dismissive, "For now, just hit the sack and get some rest. Don't overthink it."

"Is it because of Margaret?" Angel bit her lip, eyes full of frustration. She had pulled out all the stops tonight, used every trick in the book, and still, William felt nothing!

Hearing Margaret's name, William's eyes softened a bit, and he stayed quiet.

So it was because of Margaret! A flash of jealousy crossed Angel's eyes. "William, don't forget, Margaret already dumped you. She's with Lyle now. Margaret isn't worth your..."

Before Angel could finish, William cut her off in a deep voice, "Marjorie, it's late. You should sleep."

Seeing the impatience in William's tone, Angel knew that if she kept pushing, it would only backfire and make him dislike her even more. Taking a deep breath, her nails digging into her palm, Angel forced a sweet smile. "Okay, William, I'll go to sleep first. What about you?"

"I'll sit here with you." William took a step and plopped down on the couch nearby.

Angel lay down silently and turned off the light. In the dim moonlight, William's tall figure sat on the couch, his handsome face cold and stern, his brows furrowed with worry.

Looking at William, who was so close yet so distant, Angel clenched her fists tightly. She cursed in her head. 'Margaret! The reason William is so cold to me is all because of you! I won't let you off! William will be mine sooner or later!'

After a sleepless night, the next morning, William drove Angel to the Fisher Group. As Angel and William walked into the Fisher Group building, Margaret happened to arrive for work.

Seeing Margaret's tall figure out of the corner of her eye, Angel reached out and held William's arm, weakly saying, "William, I suddenly feel dizzy. Let me lean on you."

William responded indifferently, and Angel leaned her head on William's shoulder, the gesture looking super intimate.

Seeing this scene, Margaret's heart sank bit by bit. Last night, William had rushed out like a madman after getting Angel's call. And now, they were coming to work together this morning. So, they had spent the whole night together.

Margaret's lips curled in a mocking smile. 'A man and a woman alone in a room, they must've hooked up. Especially since that person is Marjorie, whom William has always longed for.'

And what a fool she was, having thought that what William said to her last night had some truth to it. 'How ironic! From beginning to end, the one William loved was Marjorie.'

With a cold face, Margaret silently followed them into the secretary's office. She saw Angel sitting in her seat.

Margaret walked over, looking down at Angel, and coldly said, "Angel, this is my seat. Please move."
