Chapter 66 Unsatisfactory

Margaret thought, 'Because of Lyle? William, what kind of twisted logic is that?'

Margaret was at a loss for words. She shot William a look and said, "William, why are you dragging Lyle into this? Are you seriously that insecure?"

With that, Margaret spun around and hopped back into the car without a second glance.

William's handsome face turned stormy, his lips pressed into a tight line, showing just how ticked off he was.

Insecure? No way!

Sure, Lyle was a big-shot movie star, but in terms of looks, build, and skills, William was right up there with him.

It was all because of Margaret's words that he couldn't let it go.

One day, he'd show her he was a thousand times better than Lyle.

Fast forward to the next afternoon, and Margaret had a meet-up with Annie and Lyle for the audition.

The audition was at the Fisher Group's studio.

When Margaret rolled up to the studio, Lyle was already there waiting, but Annie was MIA.

"Margaret." Lyle's face lit up when he saw her, striding over with a big grin.

"You're early." Margaret glanced at her watch. "We've still got 10 minutes before the shoot, and Annie's not here yet. Hang tight."

Lyle gave a slight nod. "Oh, and I got the scoop on what you asked me to dig into yesterday."

"You mean you found out who was sneaking those photos?" Margaret's face tightened, and she quickly asked, "Who was it?"

"It's Grace, the eldest daughter of the Smith family. Ring any bells?" Lyle squinted slightly.

So it was her.

Margaret's face darkened a bit.

Everyone knew Grace was Lucy's sidekick.

Lucy's beef with her was no secret; she'd tried to set her up multiple times.

So, Lucy was probably the puppet master behind this.

No wonder William got those photos. Looked like Lucy was stirring the pot again, trying to make William think there was something going on between her and Lyle.

"Margaret, need me to do anything?" Lyle asked, looking genuinely concerned.

Margaret shook her head. "Nah, I got this."

She could handle these little dramas herself.

Lyle knew Margaret was capable but still wanted to help out.

Right at two o'clock, Annie strutted in wearing high heels, with Bruce tagging along.

"I'm not late, am I?" Annie flashed a charming smile.

"Just in time." Margaret led Annie over to Lyle.

"Let me introduce you. This is your partner, Annie." Margaret smiled gracefully. "And no intro needed for the famous Lyle."

Annie gave Lyle a warm hug. "I've heard so much about you, Lyle. You're even more handsome in person. Great to finally meet you."

Lyle smiled faintly. "Looking forward to working with you."

"Alright, let's get this show on the road." Margaret was about to cue the photographer when the staff suddenly went quiet.

"Mr. Fisher, what brings you here?" The photographer in charge of the shoot looked towards the door with a mix of respect and surprise.

He thought it was just a small-time ad shoot, but here was William himself.

Margaret turned to see a tall, handsome figure at the door.

Margaret was taken aback. What was William doing here?

William walked over to Margaret, gave her a quick glance, and asked, "How's it going?"

"No problem, we're ready to roll," Margaret said, shuffling the papers in her hand.

"Good." William scanned the set, then took a long stride and plopped down on a nearby seat.

He crossed his legs casually, but even just sitting there, his presence was commanding.

Margaret frowned slightly. Was William really going to stick around and watch the shoot?

To him, this was just a small ad. Did he really need to be here in person?

"Let's get started," William said coolly.

Everyone got into position and the shoot began.

Just then, there was a ruckus at the door.

Margaret looked over and saw Lucy trying to get into the studio but being stopped by the staff.

"Sorry, Miss Clark, you can't go in," the staff said politely.

"Why can't I go in?" Lucy's eyes were locked on the studio.

William was sitting there, looking all elegant.

This morning, Michael had come to the Fisher Group to discuss a deal with William.

Lucy had tagged along just to see her crush.

But William had been cold and distant, making Lucy feel like crap.

She'd tried everything, but William wouldn't even give her the time of day.

Now that she'd finally found him, she wasn't about to back down.

Especially since that bitch Margaret was inside.

It had to be Margaret causing trouble. Why else would William leave the meeting and come to the studio to watch an ad shoot?

"I'm here to see William. Let me in." Lucy glared at the staff blocking her. "Don't you know who I am? I'm the eldest daughter of the Clark Family."

The staff recognized Lucy and hesitated. "Let me ask the president."

The staff walked up to William and respectfully asked, "Mr. Fisher, there's a Miss Clark here to see you. Can she come in?"

William's lips curled slightly, and he said coldly, "Send her out."

"I'm sorry. We're shooting an ad, and non-staff members aren't allowed in." The staff dutifully blocked Lucy.

"Then I'll just stand here, okay?" Lucy wasn't giving up.

Seeing Lucy's frustrated face, Margaret couldn't help but feel a bit smug. She turned her attention back to watching Annie and Lyle shoot the ad.

Lyle, being the movie star he was, nailed it.

But Annie was kind of a letdown.

"Hold up a sec." Margaret frowned and called for a pause.

"What's up?" Lyle asked with concern as Margaret walked over.

Margaret's gaze fell on Annie, and she said calmly, "Your performance in that last part was off."

Annie paused and looked at Margaret with some annoyance. "What was wrong?"
