Chapter 474 Candlelight Dinner

"How do you always know what I need? You knew I was feeling down and even made me dinner," Margaret said, feeling a warm surge in her heart as she watched William cook for her.

She wrapped her arms around William's waist from behind and pressed her cheek against his back.

Feeling the warmth of William's body, Margaret's heart felt cozy and content.

This feeling was so comfortable and heartwarming, just the way she liked it.

"Why aren't you wearing an apron? Your clothes are gonna smell like cooking oil," Margaret noticed. She grabbed the apron hanging behind the door and tied it around William herself.

William's large hand reached out, and he turned the tables by pulling Margaret into an embrace.

He lowered his head slightly, meeting her bright eyes, and couldn't resist kissing her lips, tenderly and passionately.

The sudden kiss left Margaret momentarily stunned.

This William, even while cooking, couldn't resist taking advantage of her!

Margaret instinctively tried to push William away. "Let go of me..."

But before she could finish her sentence, William's tongue slipped into her mouth, sealing her lips.

Their lips and tongues intertwined, and Margaret's senses were filled with William's masculine scent.

A strange sensation, like an electric current, tingled through every cell in Margaret's body.

His large hand gripped Margaret's slender waist, holding her firmly.

As the overwhelming kiss continued, Margaret instinctively leaned back against the stove.

"Don't move," William murmured, deepening the kiss, unable to get enough of her sweet, jelly-like lips.

Margaret was breathless from the kiss. She instinctively tried to push William away, but he held her waist tightly. "Don't move, let me hold you."

The two of them embraced and kissed sweetly in the kitchen, the air filled with a romantic atmosphere.

"Wait, what if Isolde comes in?" Margaret suddenly remembered, worried their intimacy might be interrupted. "Let go of me."

William adjusted his position and said slowly, "She won't. I already let her leave early."

Hearing this, Margaret's face turned slightly red. It seemed William had planned this all along.

Margaret sniffed the air and noticed a strange smell. "Wait, William, something's burning. Do you smell that?"

They had been so caught up in their kiss that they forgot to turn off the stove.

William quickly released Margaret and turned off the burner. "This was the chicken soup I made for you, to help you feel better."

Looking at the burnt pot, William frowned.

Margaret noticed William's disappointment and comforted him, "It's okay. The thought of you making a candlelit dinner for me is what matters. Besides, we still have steak."

She glanced at the marinated steaks on the plate. "I love steak," Margaret said with a smile.

William affectionately ruffled Margaret's hair and said seriously, "As long as you're happy. I prepared this surprise to make you happy. I want you to be happy every day, just like now."

He wanted to keep Margaret's smile forever, so he would do everything to protect her.

"I'm happy just being with you," Margaret said softly. She looked at the messy kitchen and smiled. "I'll help you. Let's cook together."

Cooking a meal together and sharing a candlelit dinner with the one you love can make any troubles fade away.

Margaret's eyes sparkled with warmth as she occasionally glanced at William's face.

The two of them busied themselves in the kitchen. William cooked the steak while Margaret handed him the spices. When Margaret stir-fried, William chopped the vegetables. They worked together seamlessly.

"The steak smells amazing. You're quite the chef," Margaret teased, holding the plate and taking a light sniff. She carried the steak into the dining room.

As soon as she entered the dining room, Margaret was stunned by the sight.

On the dining table, candles flickered in their holders, a vase held a few roses, and a bouquet of ninety-nine roses sat nearby. The red wine was already decanted into a glass vessel.

William had prepared the dining room in advance, and Margaret's lips curved into a smile.

"William, you've worked hard today," Margaret said, touched. "I love the roses."

William's thoughtfulness had won Margaret's heart. She was lost in his tenderness and affection.

William's chiseled face broke into a smile as he took Margaret's delicate hand. "If you're happy, then it wasn't hard. After dinner, I have another surprise for you."

He kept the surprise a secret, no matter how much Margaret asked.

"What is it? Tell me now, and I'll pretend to be surprised later," Margaret said curiously. The candlelit dinner was already touching enough; she couldn't imagine what else was in store.

William's face held a mysterious smile as he playfully wiggled his finger, refusing to reveal the surprise.

If he told her now, it wouldn't have the desired effect.

During dinner, the elegant candlelight emitted a faint fragrance, and the vibrant roses made Margaret's cheeks even rosier. Margaret's lips parted slightly as she said, "William, thank you so much for today. I'm really happy." She raised her wine glass with a smile.

William held his wine glass by the stem and took a sip. "Let's get married soon. With me, you won't have so many worries."

Margaret blushed. Although William had already proposed and they were about to have their engagement ceremony, hearing those words again still moved her deeply.

Reflecting on their journey, Margaret and William had faced many challenges and hardships, but they had finally come together, as if it were destined.

"Let's eat first. The steak is your favorite," William said gently, his deep gaze fixed on Margaret's eyes.

With red wine and a beautiful companion, William's usually stern face softened into a rare smile.

Margaret and William clinked their wine glasses, the sound of their laughter filling the room.

The romantic candlelit dinner and the couple's deep affection created a sweet atmosphere in the room.

Looking at Margaret's rosy cheeks, William's eyes deepened as he said softly, "Come, I'll take you to the next surprise."

He stood up, took Margaret's arm, and led her outside.

Margaret was curious and excited. This surprise was outside? What could it be?
