Chapter 35 You Are Marjorie

Hearing the sound, Abigail turned around and saw Margaret standing at the door. She instantly panicked.

Margaret frowned. "Abigail, what are you doing?"

Abigail's eyes flickered evasively for a moment before she forced herself to stay calm. "William's drunk, so I'm just wiping his mouth."

"So, you're using your lips to wipe it?" Margaret's lips curled into a mocking smile as she looked down at William.

William's eyes were closed, and his breathing was steady as if he were asleep.

Given William's drunken state earlier, he probably had no idea what Abigail was doing.

So, what kind of unspeakable relationship did they share in private?

Margaret immediately dismissed the thought.

Earlier, William had been calling out "Marjorie" repeatedly, so it probably had nothing to do with Abigail.

Moreover, given William's status, he couldn't engage in a forbidden sibling relationship.

So, Abigail's infatuation with William was just her wishful thinking.

"I warn you, don't talk nonsense!" Abigail, having her secret exposed, couldn't help but become flustered and exasperated.

In front of William, she had always been the obedient cousin sister. If he found out she had secretly kissed him, all hell would break loose.

Abigail didn't dare to think further.

Margaret glanced at her indifferently, "I have no interest in seeing you putting on an act. But you'd better put aside your nasty thoughts as long as I'm still living with the Fisher family and haven't called off our engagement to William. Otherwise..."

She paused, her eyes turning sharp. "Otherwise, if news of the Fisher family siblings' forbidden love hits the headlines, you know what the consequences will be."

"Margaret, how dare you!" Abigail's face changed, and she raised her hand to slap Margaret hard.

Margaret grabbed Abigail's raised arm and pushed her away forcefully, causing Abigail to stumble and fall to the ground.

"Margaret, how dare you push me?" Abigail wailed in pain from the fall, her face was burning with anger.

Margaret sneered and walked away without looking back.

Back in her room, Margaret thought for a moment and sent a message to Anthony: [Help me check the relationship between Abigail and William.]

Globally, there were two most famous hackers, Anthony and Ada. Anthony's skills were superb and had shocked the world multiple times.

Ada was even more mysterious, rumored to be Anthony's mentor.

And Margaret was the legendary, unfathomable Ada.

Of course, she wasn't Anthony's mentor. Once, Anthony had tried to launch an attack on her Starlight Entertainment company, but Margaret discovered and intercepted it in time.

They had become friends after that encounter, respecting each other's talent.

Anthony quickly replied to Margaret's message: [Ada, it's the middle of the night. Can't I get some sleep?]

Margaret texted: [Just check it, stop whining.]

Margaret and Anthony's interactions were filled with daily banter.

Anthony groaned and texted: [This is just a trivial matter. You could get it done in five minutes. Do you really need me?]

Margaret sent him an eye-rolling emoji and messaged: [I'm lazy. Hurry up!]

Ten minutes later, Anthony sent Margaret a whole list of detailed information about Abigail.

Abigail was adopted from an orphanage and, indeed, had no blood relation to William.

Margaret narrowed her eyes slightly. So that was how it was.

It seemed Abigail really had feelings for William, which explained why she constantly made things difficult for Margaret, the "fiancée from the countryside."

The Fisher family's situation was complicated, and Margaret strongly suspected that agreeing to Xavier's three-month arrangement was a mistake.

Now, she could only hope that these three months would pass quickly. Once she broke off the engagement with William, everything would finally be over.

Margaret could then return to being herself and do what she wanted to do.

The most unpleasant weekend ever finally ended. The next day, Margaret went to the Fisher Group office building early in the morning.

While Margaret was sitting at her desk, reviewing the materials for the Lady Fashion collaboration project, Suddenly, Ella slammed a large stack of documents onto Margaret's desk, causing it to shake.

Margaret looked up and questioned, "What are you doing?"

Ella glared down at Margaret and ordered, "Enter all the data in these documents into the system by noon."

Margaret glanced at the towering stack of documents.

She thought, 'Finishing them by noon? What a joke.'

Margaret calmly said, "Sorry, I'm currently responsible for the Lady Fashion collaboration project. These documents have nothing to do with that project. You should find someone else to enter the data."

Ella's face darkened, and she said impatiently, "I told you to do it, so do it. Can't you see everyone else is busy?"

Margaret was shocked.

Did she look like she had nothing to do?

Clearing her throat, Margaret smiled. "Mr. Fisher said I only need to handle the Lady Fashion collaboration project. I don't need to do anything else."

Just as Ella was ready to say anything, a phone rang on Margaret's desk. Gazing downward, she noticed that it was the CEO's direct line, "888."

Margaret answered the call in front of Ella, "Hello, this is Margaret from the Secretary Department."

On the other end, William's deep, clear voice came through. "Bring me a cup of coffee."

Margaret was stunned. What did it mean that William wanted her to bring him coffee?

Before she could respond, William hung up, leaving the sound of the dial tone.

Alright, if he wanted coffee, she'd bring it.

Margaret put down the phone, stood up, and said to Ella seriously, "You heard it. Mr. Fisher wants me to bring him coffee. You'll have to find someone else to handle these documents for you."

As she spoke, she pushed the documents back to Ella. "Please step aside."

"You!" Ella was so angry she almost spat blood.

Watching Margaret walk gracefully towards the door, Ella gritted her teeth, her heart burning with jealousy.

She thought, 'Margaret, let's see how long you can stay smug!'

Margaret went to the coffee shop, got a latte, and headed straight to the CEO's office.

Standing at the door of the CEO's office, William's handsome face flashed in her mind, causing her heart to skip a beat.

She knocked on the door, and William's cold voice came through. "Come in."

Margaret pushed the door open, walked directly to William, and placed the coffee on his desk. "Here's your coffee."

William narrowed his eyes slightly, his deep gaze falling on Margaret.

Last night, he had been drunk and had seen Marjorie in a haze.

He felt that last night's Marjorie was very real, and he truly believed his Marjorie had returned.

But when he woke up this morning, it was Abigail sitting by his bedside.

Abigail said she had brought him back to his room last night, but Abigail wasn't Marjorie.

Had he just dreamed up everything last night?

But why did the dream feel so real?

"The coffee is here. If there's nothing else, I'll be going," under William's deep gaze, Margaret felt a bit uneasy and spoke calmly.

Just as she was about to turn and leave, Margaret suddenly remembered something. She took out the diamond button and handed it to William. "By the way, this is yours. I'm returning it to you."

William lowered his head and caught a whiff of the unique fragrance on Margaret's hand.

It was the same scent as last night's.

His well-defined hand firmly grasped Margaret's hand, as if holding a rare treasure, with extreme care.

His eyes flashed with emotion, and his voice was low and hoarse. "Marjorie? Are you Marjorie?"
