Chapter 93 William Needs Supplements

What the heck was going on?

William scrunched up his handsome face. He'd given the green light on those news reports, and without his say-so, no one would've dared to yank them. Plus, they were breaking traffic records left and right. What kind of idiot media outlet would pull them down?

William mulled it over for a sec and then called Peter, his voice low and serious, "Find out who took down those topics."

"Got it," Peter replied, all respectful. He'd noticed the trends disappearing earlier too.

This whole thing was super weird.

Besides the Fisher Group, who else had the juice to make every media outlet scrub the trends off the entire internet so fast?

In less than half an hour, Margaret got a text from Anthony: [Done.]

Margaret shot back, feeling pretty pleased: [I knew you'd get it done.]

Anthony couldn't resist adding: [By the way, are you and William really the rumored engaged couple? Only a guy like William could handle you.]

Margaret snapped back: [None of your business!]

What did he mean by "handle her"?

Putting her phone down, Margaret quickly skimmed through various websites and saw that all news about her had indeed vanished. Only then did she get back to work.

The whole Ella incident had thrown a wrench in the "Ice and Fire" ad shoot, and she needed to catch up. Margaret rescheduled the shoot with Lyle and Seraphina and called Bruce to set a date for the press conference.

Now, everything was set. Once the ad shoot wrapped up, they could officially launch the new product.

Margaret was so swamped all afternoon that she almost lost track of time until William called her.

"Ready to go?" William's calm voice came through the phone.

Margaret checked the time and realized it was already past quitting time.

"Yeah, let's go." Margaret nodded. They couldn't keep Bradley waiting.

William drove, his well-defined hands gripping the steering wheel tightly. Margaret sat in the passenger seat, staring out the window with a calm look.

Just then, William's phone rang. It was Peter. Popping in his wireless earphones, William answered, his tone serious, "What's up?"

"Sir, I found out," Peter said. "The one who took down the trends is the famous hacker Anthony."

"Anthony?" William frowned.

Anthony was always this mysterious figure. William had only heard bits and pieces about him.

"Why would he do that?" William asked, keeping his cool.

"No clue. That's all we could dig up," Peter answered honestly. "Maybe he wanted to show off his skills?"

"Keep digging," William said, narrowing his eyes a bit. This whole thing felt off.

Hearing Anthony's name made Margaret's brow twitch involuntarily. What was William digging into? Had he figured out her connection to Anthony? Was her cover about to be blown?

Luckily, William didn't grill her and just sped off, taking Margaret back to the Fisher family mansion. Before they even got inside, Dolly came bounding up to them, all excited. As soon as Dolly saw Margaret, she wagged her tail like crazy.

"You still remember me?" Margaret squatted down and reached out to pet Dolly.

Dolly barked happily.

"Margaret, even Dolly misses you," Bradley said with a grin, stroking his beard. "You should come back more often."

"Got it, Grandpa," William replied coolly before Margaret could even open her mouth.

Margaret was like, 'Seriously? Why does William think he can speak for me?'

"Come on in and sit," Bradley said, holding Dolly and heading into the living room. He smiled at Margaret. "Margaret, have a seat. Dinner's almost ready."

"Okay." Margaret nodded, playing along.

"After dinner, you two should stay here," Bradley ordered, leaving no room for argument.

Earlier that afternoon, Bradley had chatted with Xavier on the phone, and they both agreed that Margaret and William's relationship was moving at a snail's pace. They decided Bradley should give it a little nudge.

"Alright." William agreed right away.

Margaret just kept quiet. Could they at least ask her opinion?

"Dinner's ready," the butler James said respectfully as he walked up.

"Let's eat," Bradley said, getting up and heading to the dining room. William and Margaret followed, taking their seats at the table.

The table was loaded with a feast. Margaret glanced at the dishes in front of William and noticed something odd. Oysters, salmon, and other stuff known to boost male performance? What was Bradley up to?

As Margaret pondered, Bradley placed a piece of salmon in William's plate. "William, eat more of this."

William couldn't help but twitch his mouth. Was this a joke? Did he need to boost his performance? He was already more than capable in that department.

Margaret couldn't help but chuckle softly and whispered, "Is your performance not up to par?"

William's handsome face darkened. Margaret dared to question his abilities?

He snorted softly and gritted his teeth. "You'll know if you try."

After dinner, Bradley practically shoved Margaret and William into William's room.

"I'll stay in the guest room," Margaret said, rubbing her temples.

Bradley wasn't having it. "The guest rooms are being renovated and can't be used."

Margaret held her forehead. She hadn't seen any guest rooms being renovated.

"Young people are more conservative than I am?" Bradley almost pushed Margaret into William's room and locked the door behind him.

Bradley stroked his beard with satisfaction. This should help them get closer, right?

Locked in William's room, Margaret was speechless.

What was Bradley trying to pull?

Before she could react, William suddenly approached, pinning her against the door.

He leaned in slightly and whispered in her ear with a husky voice, "Who said my performance wasn't up to par?"
