Chapter 304 Arousing His Desires
"Which ward is William in? Take me to him," Margaret said impatiently.
She couldn't wait another moment to see William. She wanted to know what had happened to him.
Margaret hurriedly got out of bed, but as soon as her foot touched the ground, a sharp pain shot through her.
She almost collapsed, but fortunately, Juniper, who had anticipated this, caught her. "Margaret, don't rush. I'll take you there."
Margaret nodded, not caring about herself at this moment.
Juniper supported Margaret, glanced at her, and continued, "When you were found, your feet were already a bloody mess, with many pine needles deeply embedded in them. Pryce painstakingly removed them all and stitched up the infected wounds. Otherwise, you might have lost the use of your feet."
"Pryce is here too?" Margaret was taken aback, a bit surprised.
Juniper smiled faintly. "Yes, both you and William were seriously injured. Pryce was worried about you. If it weren't for him, you wouldn't have woken up so soon."
Margaret breathed a slight sigh of relief. Since Pryce was here, William should be fine too.
After all, Pryce was a renowned medical expert.
"Sit in this. I'll take you there." Juniper pushed a wheelchair over to Margaret and gestured for her to sit.
Margaret frowned. She hadn't realized that her actions would cause such severe injuries, yet she had managed to keep walking for so long.
She sat down, letting Juniper push her towards the ward. After a turn, they arrived at William's ward door.
He was right next to her.
Margaret thought of William's mangled leg, feeling heavy-hearted. 'Could it be that his leg is in trouble?'
But with Pryce around, no matter how severe the injury, he should be able to heal it.
"I'll leave you here. I'm afraid he doesn't want to see anyone but you, so I won't go in," Juniper sighed, her eyes filled with sympathy, and opened the ward door for Margaret.
Margaret pressed the wheelchair's buttons to enter the ward, hearing the door close behind her.
As she moved through the hallway, she saw that the curtains in the ward were all drawn, making it pitch dark except for a faint light by the bedside.
Squinting, Margaret saw a figure in a wheelchair, back facing her.
"William." Her voice trembled as she called his name.
Margaret's heart was a mix of worry and anxiety.
William, like her, was in a wheelchair.
This meant his leg was indeed severely injured.
Margaret saw his back move slightly, trembling.
Then his cold voice rang out, devoid of its usual vitality and filled with despair. "Don't come any closer!"
Seeing William like this, Margar felt heartbroken. She pushed her wheelchair closer to him.
William immediately raised his hand to stop her. "Don't come any closer. I don't want you to see me like this."
But Margaret ignored him and wheeled herself in front of him.
In the dim, yellowish light, Margaret saw William's face full of gloom.
"William, what happened to you? What's wrong?" Margaret's eyes were fixed on him.
She saw his leg covered by a thin blanket, and her heart ached. She reached out to lift the blanket. "Let me see, what happened to your leg?"
William forcefully pressed her hand down, his handsome face clouded. "My leg is useless."
Recalling the sight of William's mangled leg at the bottom of the cliff, Margaret's heart sank.
She had a strong sense of foreboding when she saw the wheelchair, but she hadn't expected his leg to be truly crippled. And it was all because of her.
"Let me see," Margaret said, full of concern.
William shook his head, his eyes dim. "No need. Pryce has already looked at it, and even he can't cure it."
Seeing William like this, Margaret didn't insist.
She didn't want to bring up something that would hurt William even more.
He was William Fisher, a man who commanded respect and fear in the business world.
But now he was a cripple, and his aura had vanished along with his mobility.
Thinking of this, Margaret's heart ached for him.
If it weren't for her, how could William have ended up like this?
Memories slowly surfaced.
Margaret was filled with regret.
She regreted that she broke off the engagement with him, and didn't agree to him sooner.
William loved her with his life, and deep down, she loved him too.
Margaret gently held his hand, her clear, beautiful eyes filled with starlight as she looked at William. "I'm giving you a chance now. Marry me."
Her words brought a flicker of life to William's ashen face, but his eyes quickly dimmed again.
William pushed her hand away, his voice cold and flat. "No need. I don't want to drag you down. I'm just a cripple now."
His self-deprecating words made Margaret's heart ache.
"Who dares to call you a cripple? I'll make them a cripple!" Margaret raised an eyebrow, her tone bold and unrestrained. "Since I've chosen you, then you, William, must be my lawful husband for life!"
"Are you serious?" William looked at her, his eyes empty. "I'm a cripple now. The Fisher Family will strip me of my status. I'll have nothing, and I might never be able to make you a mother."
"Aren't you Mr. Fisher who strategizes in the business world, the one everyone fears ? Are you going to let this little setback defeat you?" Margaret raised her eyebrows, her tone firm and unquestionable. "If you're willing, we can get married right now!"
William's long eyelashes fluttered, not expecting Margaret to be so determined this time.
He wanted to say something, but Margaret, enduring the pain in her foot, stood up and bent down to kiss his lips.
Her actions were as domineering as William's used to be.
She rarely initiated kisses, and though she did now, it was clumsy. William could feel her lips trembling.
She was nervous.
Margaret felt it wasn't enough. Mimicking William's past actions, she pried open his lips, parted his teeth, and sought his tongue.
The familiar and tantalizing scent of the woman in front of him made William's breath catch.
She had completely awakened his primal desire!
