Chapter 458 Birthday Banquet

"What's up?" William's brow furrowed slightly. Peter was his go-to guy, and if he was calling at this hour, something was off.

Peter's voice crackled through the phone, sounding urgent and stressed. "Mr. Fisher, we've got a problem. I sent someone to check on Angel in prison today, but she's gone. Looks like she busted out!"

"What?" William's brow furrowed even deeper, frustration creeping into his voice. He glanced at Margaret, took a deep breath, and asked, "How long has she been missing?"

Peter, clearly rattled, replied, "I talked to the guards, and they said she vanished three days ago. No one has a clue where she is now."

William's expression turned icy and serious. "I don't care what it takes. Get people out there right now to find her. We need Angel back!"

Margaret listened, her concern growing. After William hung up, she asked, "What's going on? Is Angel missing?"

William let out a deep sigh and nodded. "Yeah, Peter sent someone to check on her, but she broke out of prison. She's been gone for three days."

Margaret frowned, struggling to wrap her head around it, but quickly regained her composure. Angel was just a pawn for Jack. If she were locked up, no one would risk helping her escape. It seemed impossible.

She looked at William, who was visibly upset, and tried to reassure him. "Don't stress. Angel's only ally in Ravenford is Jack. Plus, with guards on duty, she couldn't have escaped without help. But it can't be Jack; she's useless to him now. Maybe Peter should check who visited the prison recently or if Angel was acting weird before she escaped."

Margaret couldn't figure out who else would want to help Angel. Who would go through all that trouble, and why? It was all too strange.

William started to calm down, realizing Margaret had a point. But right now, her upcoming design competition was more important. He didn't want her to be bogged down by these issues.

William relaxed his brow and reassured Margaret, "Don't worry about this. I've already got Peter on it. Your main focus should be on the design competition. Bring home that trophy."

Margaret couldn't help but smile, hugging William gently. "Alright, I know. You don't have to worry about me..."

William appreciated Margaret's playful tone, and his earlier frustration began to fade. He lifted her chin and gave her a quick kiss, then playfully pinched her cheek.

"You're my wife. Who else would I care about? Leave the worrying to me. You just enjoy life."

Margaret lowered her eyes a bit but kept her gaze on William, eventually nodding. William couldn't resist and kissed her again.

They were in Parislia, where the Fleurancia people embraced romance. Here, they could be carefree, not worrying about what others thought, enjoying their affection openly.

Just as they were lost in the moment, Margaret's phone rang.

"Hold on." Margaret snapped back to reality, gently pushing William away, ignoring his slightly annoyed look. She checked the caller ID and glanced at William.

"It's Michelle."

"Go ahead and answer it," William said casually, though he sensed something in Margaret's tone.

Margaret answered the call, "Hey, Michelle, what's up?"

"Margaret," Michelle's sweet and lively voice came through. "Tomorrow's my birthday, and Dad's throwing a party. I wanted to see if you and William could come. It's been ages since we last met, and Dad mentioned he misses William."

Michelle was already calling William by his first name, maybe because of the warm nature of the Fleurancia people. But Margaret knew what Michelle felt about William. Hearing this, she couldn't help but feel a bit uneasy.

She paused, about to decline, when Michelle added, "You didn't say anything, so I'll take that as a yes. See you at eight tomorrow night."

"Alright, we'll be there."

After hanging up, Margaret sighed. William noticed her expression and asked, "What's up? Why'd she call?"

"Michelle said tomorrow's her birthday, and David's throwing her a party. She wants us to go."

Though the call was for Margaret, they both knew the real reason behind it.

Margaret sighed again, looking at William, feeling a pang of jealousy. She couldn't help but tease, "Seems like I'm not the one she wants to invite."

William recognized Margaret's playful jealousy and found it endearing. He wrapped an arm around her shoulder, smiling. "Jealous, huh? Don't worry. Even if we go to her party, I'll only have eyes for you."

"Alright, alright." Margaret, caught in her feelings, felt a bit embarrassed and playfully pushed William. "Let's head back."

At David's house.

After hanging up, Michelle's smile faded, and she lowered her eyes, feeling a bit down. She had invited Margaret and William to her party, but the thought of them arriving together made her sad.

Yes, she had fallen for William at first sight. Michelle was sure of it.

But why did William have to be Margaret's fiancé?

Since meeting William, Michelle couldn't get him out of her mind. There were other Solstice students at school, but none as handsome as William.
