Chapter 369 Finding Alden

"Alright." William's eyes were deep and he stared at Margaret for a long time. The desire in his eyes hadn't gone out, but he finally compromised.

He let go of her hand and sat up, sitting beside Margaret with a bit of helplessness.

Sensing his restraint, Margaret felt a bit of pity. She gently placed her delicate hand on William's shoulder, snuggled up to him, and looked up at him. "We have a lot of time ahead of us, there's no rush, okay?"

William slightly turned his head and saw Margaret's stunning face. He planted a kiss on her forehead. "Yes, there's no rush."

Lyle stepped out and walked under the dim streetlight, which happened to face the direction of Margaret's living room. He couldn't help but looked up; there was still a bright light behind that window.

He ccouldn't help but thought, 'William and Margaret must be together now, right? Maybe they are even...'

A bitter feeling surged in Lyle's heart, overwhelming him.

He shook his head, not daring to think further, and finally just lowered his head and laughed at himself.

But thinking of Margaret possibly snuggling in William's arms, whispering sweet nothings, his heart felt clogged and painful.

His fingers tightened bit by bit, but he finally shoved them into his jacket pockets and walked forward.

For some reason, Lyle suddenly thought of what Lucy had said. 'We work together, you help me get William, and Margaret will be yours.'

This sentence kept echoing in his mind, making Lyle inexplicably irritable. He took a deep breath, trying to dispel those inexplicable emotions.

He didn't look in the direction of Margaret's house again, forcibly suppressing his irritation, and quickly left.

These days, Margaret and Juniper had not given up searching for Alden. Sensing Juniper becoming more and more haggard, Margaret also felt pity.

"Margaret, where on earth has Alden gone?" Juniper's eyes were red, exhausted.

Margaret sighed softly in her heart and comforted, "Juniper, you should rest for a while. Don't worry, I will definitely help you find Alden."

"Really?" Juniper bit her lip.

Margaret nodded and insisted on pulling Juniper to bed. "You need to rest well to have the energy to find Alden."

Margaret only left after Juniper fell asleep. She had just taken a few steps when she received a call from a bodyguard. "Ms. Scott, we found Alden!"

"Really?" Margaret's eyes lit up, "Where is he?"

"In Regal City," The bodyguard said on the other end of the phone, describing Alden's current location.

"Okay, got it, I'm heading over now," Margaret responded and then returned to the hotel where Juniper was staying.

She gently shook Juniper's shoulder. "Juniper, wake up, I've found Alden!"

Juniper's eyes snapped open at the mention of Alden's name, and she sat up in bed. "Really? Where is he now?"

"The bodyguard searching for Alden said someone saw him on the outskirts of Regal City. He can't have gone far in his current condition. Regal City isn't far; if we go now, we'll be there in an hour or two!" Margaret replied.

Juniper immediately perked up and walked out with Margaret. "Quick, let's go!"

An hour later, they finally arrived in Regal City. Margaret quickly contacted the bodyguard who had called her and rushed to meet up.

"Where's Alden?" Juniper anxiously asked as soon as she saw the bodyguard.

A middle-aged man beside the bodyguard said, "I saw the person you're looking for once while fishing on the outskirts. It's only about a half-hour drive from the city, and there's an artificial lake nearby, easy to find."

Juniper was already excited, unconsciously gripping Margaret's hand tightly. Margaret quickly patted her back and asked the middle-aged man for the exact direction of the artificial lake. They hurriedly drove over.

There weren't many people in the outskirts at this time. As soon as they got out of the car, Margaret and the others began searching for Alden. Juniper walked up a small hill, with Margaret nearby.

On the hill, she found a small, dilapidated cabin that seemed uninhabited. Juniper stood in front of the door, about to turn away when a loud noise suddenly came from inside.

It sounded like a pot falling to the ground.

Juniper froze and, without hesitation, pushed open the cabin door. The first thing she saw was Alden, standing there with a look of shock on his face.

His right leg was crudely bandaged, the gauze already yellowed, indicating the wound hadn't been properly treated for days.

"Alden! I finally found you!" Juniper's eyes immediately reddened, and she rushed forward to tightly embrace Alden.

Alden froze for a moment, then quickly tried to push Juniper away. He struggled to step back, trying to free himself from Juniper's grip, his right leg still in pain.

"Why are you here? Didn't I already break up with you? We have nothing to do with each other anymore. Leave me alone." He turned his body to the side, avoiding looking at Juniper's face, his voice turning cold.

Juniper looked at Alden in shock, shaking her head slightly, still trying to grab his arm. "No, Alden, your right leg isn't healed yet. It hasn't been treated for a long time, right? Pryce is already in Ravenford. Come back with us, at least to get your leg treated."

"No need!" Alden suddenly became extremely agitated, his face flushed as he shouted at Juniper, "I'm a cripple now. Why do you still care about me? I'm not going back with you!"

As the two were still at an impasse, the cabin door was suddenly pushed open again by Margaret.

She was also full of surprise when she saw Alden.

Juniper, seeing Margaret, looked as if she had seen a savior. She held Alden's wrist and urgently said to Margaret, "Margaret, help me persuade him. Alden says he doesn't want to go back to Ravenford and doesn't want to treat his leg."

"Don't you understand? I'm not going back, and no one can persuade me otherwise!" Alden's emotions grew more and more agitated, almost frenzied.

Margaret frowned at him, full of disappointment, and signaled the bodyguards behind her to step forward and hold Alden's arms, forcibly taking him out of the cabin and into the car.

Alden didn't continu to struggle until he finally in the car, but he remained silent and refused to speak to Juniper, only staring out the window.

Back in Ravenford, Margaret immediately contacted Pryce and took Alden directly to the hotel where Pryce was staying with Juniper.

"Pryce, this is Alden. We finally found him. Please take a look at his leg," Margaret said.
