Chapter 410 Miscarriage
"Alright, alright, I get it."
Margaret chuckled softly, agreeing with William. She turned around and planted a kiss on his forehead. "Does that make you feel better?"
Juniper had been staying home for a while now. She didn't want to be in the hospital, even though she knew she was pregnant. She couldn't accept the reality of it, and sometimes she even had trouble sleeping.
It had been three days since she started feeling down.
She wasn't far along in her pregnancy, so her belly hadn't started to show. But every time she placed her hand on it, she thought about the little life growing inside.
An unexpected little life.
Moreover, Ramon and Madeline didn't know about it yet. If they found out, they would definitely be furious. This situation couldn't go on.
Juniper held her head, feeling like she was on the verge of a breakdown.
In utter desperation, she called Margaret.
Margaret rushed to the hotel and found Juniper sitting by the window, looking exhausted. She frowned and walked over, concerned. "What's wrong, Juniper? Are you feeling unwell?"
Juniper shook her head, pulling Margaret's hand to sit beside her. After a long silence, she looked down, hesitant to speak. Under Margaret's persistent questioning, she finally spoke slowly.
"Margaret, I think it's best if I terminate this pregnancy. Samuel and I were a mistake. His birth would be a burden for both of us. No child would want to be born into a single-parent family. I've decided that after the procedure, I'll go back to Fleurancia."
"You're going back to Fleurancia?" Margaret was surprised, but more than that, she was worried. She knew Juniper had been struggling with the decision about the baby, and her mental state wasn't great. But she hoped Juniper would seriously consider her options.
"Juniper."
Margaret hesitated. She knew she shouldn't interfere in someone else's relationship, but she didn't want to see Juniper continue like this.
"Why don't you think it over again? The procedure is quite harmful to your body, and Samuel is the father. He has a right to know. I think you should consider Samuel. Even though he's younger and sometimes acts immature, he's very responsible. You saw that at the hospital last time."
Margaret had thought carefully before saying this. After Samuel had approached her multiple times to talk about Juniper, she could see his sincerity and determination. She didn't want Juniper to miss out on someone who could be good for her after a failed relationship.
"But I still love Alden."
Juniper understood Margaret's point. She knew Samuel was good to her, but she couldn't get past her feelings for Alden. Even though Alden had been gone for a few days, she still thought about him.
Seeing Margaret's expression, Juniper shook her head and sighed deeply. "I haven't made up my mind yet. I can't let go of Alden, and this baby..."
Margaret sighed heavily. She knew what Juniper was worried about, and it was understandable. She patted Juniper's hand gently and spoke softly.
"Alright, I get it. But you really need to think this through. You look exhausted; you must not have slept well for a long time. Lie down and rest. I'll stay here with you."
Juniper nodded and lay down. Margaret carefully tucked her in and sat by the bed. Once Juniper's breathing became steady, indicating she was asleep, Margaret quietly slipped into the bathroom and called Samuel, speaking in a low voice.
"Samuel, it's Margaret. I'm with Juniper. She said she wants to go to the hospital for an abortion and then return to Fleurancia."
Samuel was on the set of a TV show, having just finished a scene, when he got Margaret's call.
Hearing Margaret's words, he immediately tensed up. "An abortion? Margaret, where are you? I'll be right there!"
"I'll send you the hotel address. If you can, come quickly. Juniper just fell asleep, so hurry."
After hanging up, Samuel quickly received Margaret's message. He gripped his phone tightly and ran to the director, pleading earnestly. "Director, I have an urgent matter and need to leave the set briefly. It's really important, but I'll be back as soon as I can!"
Seeing Samuel's anxious expression, the director couldn't refuse. He nodded and said, "Alright, but make sure you come back quickly."
As soon as the director nodded, Samuel dashed to the parking lot, waving his hand and calling out from a distance.
Samuel drove as fast as he could, focusing entirely on the road. He soon arrived at Juniper's hotel, bursting through the door.
"Juniper!"
Juniper had already woken up. Her sleep was light, and half an hour was a long time for her. She was talking to Margaret when she saw Samuel rush in, sweat visible on his forehead. Her expression immediately turned hesitant and even a bit cold.
"What are you doing here?"
Samuel took a moment to catch his breath, then quickly moved to Juniper's side, kneeling on the floor and grabbing her hand. He pleaded, "Juniper, please reconsider the baby. It's okay if you can't accept me right now; I can wait. But the baby is innocent, and the procedure would be harmful to you."
Juniper frowned deeply. Margaret had already stepped outside, her eyes avoiding the scene. She was also conflicted.
[Should I keep this baby?]
But in the end, Juniper gritted her teeth, pulled her hand away from Samuel, and said, "Samuel, you know our relationship was a mistake, including this baby. I don't love you. Even if you say you'll take responsibility for us, the child won't be happy growing up in this kind of family. I can't listen to you on this. I've decided to go to the hospital tomorrow to schedule the procedure."
"Juniper!" Samuel was getting desperate and couldn't help but shout.
But Juniper had already turned her head away, refusing to look at Samuel.
Samuel stood there, stunned. After a while, he slowly lowered his hand, his eyes filled with sadness. He pressed his lips together and stood up.
"Then I'll go for now. But I hope you'll think it over. I'll be waiting for you."
