Chapter 340 Looking Forward to Tonight
William's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly answered the phone. "Grandpa?"
"William, am I disturbing you?" Bradley's deep voice came through the line.
"No, Grandpa, what's up?" William asked with concern.
"Oh, it's nothing much," Bradley said, trying to sound casual. "I wanted to ask you, what do you plan to do with your mom and Abigail?"
"Grandpa, after what they did to hurt you, I won't let it slide. Don't worry, they won't have another chance to harm you." Thinking about Daisy and Abigail's actions, William's handsome face turned a bit colder.
"Are you planning to keep them locked up forever?" Bradley frowned.
"What else?" William smirked, not understanding what was going on with his grandfather.
"No matter what, she's still your mother. Let them out in a few days," Bradley said, his tone devoid of any emotion.
William was stunned by what he heard. 'Grandpa actually wants me to release them? Has he forgotten how these two has poisoned him?'
"Grandpa, why?" William's eyes were deep and dark, his tone carrying a hint of coldness and confusion.
Bradley sighed lightly, "I'm getting old, and I just want the family to be together and live a peaceful life. Since your mom and Abigail know they were wrong, give them a chance to repent."
William was silent for several seconds before he spoke, "Alright, I understand."
"That's it then." Bradley hung up with a grim expression.
He didn't know if what he was doing was right or wrong.
But, no matter what, he didn't want William to know about the Fisher Family's past.
After hanging up, William still couldn't understand why Bradley suddenly wanted him to release Daisy and Abigail. Bradley had always been decisive and never soft-hearted.
Seeing William silent after the call, Margaret asked suspiciously, "What's wrong?"
William snapped back to reality and replied in a cold voice, "My grandpa wants me to release my mom and Abigail."
"Why?" Margaret was also very puzzled.
William shook his head helplessly. "I don't know why he suddenly changed his mind. He said he wants to give my mom and Abigail a chance to repent."
Margaret sneered as she thought of Daisy and Abigail's faces.
If they had any conscience and knew how to repent, they wouldn't have done something as outrageous as poisoning Bradley. Did Bradley really think they would turn over a new leaf?
"Do you believe it?" Margaret asked with a mocking smile.
William's eyes grew darker and colder. "Whether I believe it or not, since my grandpa has spoken, I can't go against his wishes."
"Aren't you afraid they'll cause more trouble?" Margaret's heart tightened.
William spoke in a deep voice, "I won't give them another chance. I'll have someone keep a close watch on them."
Margaret nodded thoughtfully.
She still didn't understand why Bradley suddenly wanted William to release these two.
It didn't fit Bradley's usual way of doing things.
She could only decided that old age had made Bradley softer in his heart.
But since William had said so, Margaret couldn't say much more.
After all, this was the Fisher Family's matter.
At the Clark Group, Lucy, dressed to the nines, took the elevator to the top floor and headed straight for the CEO's office.
She knocked on the door and heard Michael's cool voice. "Come in."
Lucy pushed the door open, "Michael!"
Michael looked up. "Lucy? What brings you here?"
Lucy twirled in front of Michael, "Michael, do I look pretty today?"
"Very pretty." Michael's eyes showed a hint of doting affection for Lucy.
Lucy proudly lifted her chin.
Today was the Clark Group's fiftieth anniversary celebration, and there would be a grand banquet in the evening.
As the heiress of the Clark Family, she naturally had to dress up and become the most dazzling woman at the banquet.
Moreover, she had something more important to do tonight.
Tonight, she would become William's woman.
She had specially worn a spaghetti strap V-neck dress, looking both alluring and pure, which William should like.
Tonight's plan had to succeed, no room for failure.
Thinking of this, she happily walked up and hugged Michael's neck. "Michael, William will come to the banquet tonight, right?"
Michael looked down at thelove-struck Lucy and answered helplessly, "He said he would come yesterday."
"He won't change his mind, will he?" Lucy's voice carried a hint of nervousness.
If William changed his mind at the last minute and didn't come to the banquet, all her efforts would be in vain.
Michael frowned slightly. "I don't know, but he shouldn't."
"Michael, call him to remind him," Lucy said, clinging to Michael's arm and pouting.
"Lucy, haven't you given up on William yet?" Michael's face tightened, "You've seen the recent online uproar. William has a fiancée and a first love, and he's entangled between the two. Lucy, there are plenty of good men out there. I can introduce you to some better ones."
"Michael, I only like him, you know that." Lucy's face turned a bit sour, "Besides, I just want to see him, I'm not asking for much. Michael, you won't even make a call for me?"
Michael shook his head helplessly.
He took out his phone, dialed William's number, and put it on speaker.
"Michael, what's up?" William's magnetic voice came from the other end.
Under Lucy's expectant gaze, Michael cleared his throat and said, "Nothing major, just wanted to remind you not to forget to come to the Clark Group's banquet tonight."
"Alright, I'll be there on time." William was a bit surprised that Michael called just to remind him about the banquet.
Having received William's confirmation, Michael thanked him and hung up.
"Lucy, are you satisfied now?" Michael raised an eyebrow.
"Thank you, Michael!" Lucy said joyfully, kissing Michael on the cheek. "I knew you loved me the most!"
With that, Lucy walked out of the CEO's office, full of excitement.
She was really looking forward to tonight.
