Chapter 379 Stealing the Plan
The more he thought about it, the angrier Jack became. He couldn't swallow this anger. He had always seen William as a troublesome enemy, and BPL had been at odds with the Fisher Group for a long time.
Jack irritably closed the webpage, not wanting to see any more reports about North Bay Amusement Park, but the more he thought about it, the more uncomfortable he felt.
It was a project he was determined to win, but William's scheming had left him with nothing.
"Alright, you can go out now." Jack looked up at his assistant with a gloomy expression and waved his hand dismissively, clearly showing his displeasure.
The assistant carefully observed his expression. The moment Jack waved his hand, the assistant breathed a sigh of relief as if granted amnesty and quickly turned to leave.
Jack propped up his right temple, his emotions hard to read.
He vowed sliently, 'North Bay Amusement Park, William, I won't let you be smug!'
He was determined to thwart the Fisher Group's plans, no matter what it took.
Jack suddenly remembered Angel. She had told him last time that William was now completely at her beck and call. Maybe he should start with her.
With this in mind, he dialed Angel's number.
The nurse William had hired had just finished taking Angel's blood pressure and heart rate. Angel nodded and gave a polite smile. "Thank you. Why don't you take a break? I'm fine."
Her illness was faked, and if the nurse stayed with her all the time, she would eventually be exposed.
Therefore, she needed to come up with a more thorough plan to keep William firmly in her grasp.
As Angel was thinking, her phone rang.
The caller was Jack.
Seeing the name, Angel's heart skipped a beat. She quickly picked up the phone and, after controlling her emotions, answered. "Jack, what's up?"
Her voice was low, trying to control her volume so the nurse resting in the room wouldn't hear anything incriminating.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm resting." Angel's fingers tightened, and she couldn't help but felt a bit nervous.
"Alright, let's get to the point." Jack loosened his tie and asked, "How are things with William now?"
Hearing this, Angel's heart sank. She instinctively glanced towards the nurse's room and lowered her voice. "I've moved into Water Moon Estate now. He rarely comes back, but he's very good to me. Also, he had a big fight with Margaret the day I moved in. They shouldn't be in contact anymore. Jack, don't worry."
"Good," Jack said in a deep voice.
Angel had just breathed a sigh of relief when she heard Jack say, "In the next few days, take good care of William when he comes back. Try to ask him about the North Bay Amusement Park project."
"North Bay Amusement Park?" Angel was puzzled. She hadn't heard William mention anything about the North Bay project for a long time. Why was an amusement park coming up now?
There was a long silence on the other end of the line, and Jack's eyes darkened.
He said coldly, "You don't know, do you? I knowWilliam is very cautious, and he couldn't easily tell you."
"No!" Angel quickly denied it. She was afraid Jack would think she was useless. If the Phillips Family abandoned her, all her connections and luxurious lifestyle would disappear, and she would return to her previous impoverished state.
Cold sweat broke out on Angel's forehead. After finally calming her breathing, she said in a low voice, "William is really good to me now. I even talked to him about Margaret, and he clearly doesn't want to bring her up again. Jack, give me some time."
"Alright." Jack impatiently interrupted Angel. He hadn't called just to catch up. "I need you to help me steal the Fisher Group's plans for the amusement park. William needs to know what it's like to be trampled underfoot!"
Hearing this request, Angel instinctively frowned. Not to mention that William always closed the study door when handling work, how could he easily leave such an important project plan at home for her to find?
"But William might not let me see the plan, and he might not even keep it here!" Angel's voice was hesitant, but Jack was unmoved. "That's your problem. If you can't get the plan, you should know the consequence! You must succeed, understand?"
Angel felt helpless. Thinking of Jack's methods, she reluctantly agreed. After Jack hung up, she clenched her fist.
She was really fed up with Jack. If she didn't marry William soon, she might never escape the Phillips Family's control.
As long as she could marry William, she would become the hostess of the Fisher Family. By then, even Jack couldn't do anything to her.
At Hotel, "Margaret? What are you doing here?" Juniper heard a knock on the door, opened it, and found Margaret standing outside.
She brushed her hair back and stepped aside to let Margaret in.
Juniper hadn't returned to her apartment for the past few days and had rented a room in a hotel. Her mind was too chaotic, and she needed some peace to sort out her emotions.
Margaret walked into the room and casually sat on the bed, looking at Juniper with concern. "Have you been staying here all this time? When are you planning to go back?"
She knew that the incident with Samuel had left a scar in Juniper's heart, but staying outside wasn't a long-term solution.
Juniper silently shook her head. The recent events had left her looking much more haggard.
She sat next to Margaret, looking down at her fingers. After a long while, she finally said, "How has Alden been lately?"
This was the first time she had mentioned Alden in front of Margaret in a while.
Margaret didn't want to bring up anything that would upset Juniper. Hearing her ask about Alden, she patted her hand and said, "Well, I haven't had a chance to tell you. Pryce has been treating him, and he's not as resistant as he was at first. He's actually cooperating quite well now. Sometimes he even talks to Pryce, and he seems much better than before."
"Really?" Juniper's face showed a faint smile, looking different from before. "That's a relief. Thank you for all your hard work lately."
