Chapter 449 He Is My Fiancé
"Mom," Samuel took a deep breath, glancing at Dione with a worried look that briefly rested on Ramon's face. He had waited so long for Juniper to agree to marry him and didn't want anything to ruin it now.
Madeline had come over today, and seeing Dione's face had already put her in a bad mood. She had hoped that if Juniper was willing, they could settle the matter peacefully. But hearing Dione's words, she couldn't hold back her displeasure and frowned.
"Mrs. Hall, what are you saying? Our Juniper is also very upset about what happened. If it weren't for her finding Dr. Holt..."
"Mom, please stop," Juniper quickly intervened, seeing the situation spiraling out of control and fearing Madeline's fiery temper might lead to a confrontation with Dione.
"Enough," Ramon echoed.
Dane pursed his lips and looked at Dione, his voice slightly lowered. "You should say less, too. Since the kids are willing, we as parents should respect their decision. Juniper is a good kid, and you've been too harsh on her. We're all going to be family now, so treat her better."
Dione sighed in resignation, seeing Samuel's reaction. She finally agreed, "Fine, I promise. If Juniper marries Samuel, I'll treat her like my own daughter and won't give her a hard time. Otherwise, you can take her back home anytime."
Hearing Dione's promise, Ramon and Madeline had no further objections, and the matter was settled.
Juniper breathed a sigh of relief. As long as there was no argument, it was a good outcome.
With a few days left before the design competition officially started, Margaret and William stayed in Fleurancia, often going out for inspiration. Margaret was working on several design drafts, knowing she couldn't just rely on her competition piece.
"Margaret, how about I introduce you to someone tomorrow?" William suggested.
"Who?" Lying side by side in bed after returning from an outing, Margaret had just stocked the fridge with more supplies. William turned to her with a smile.
"An old friend of mine from here, a prince. He's a great guy, very charming. I'll take you to meet him tomorrow."
"Sure."
The next afternoon, William took Margaret to a villa in the affluent Parislia district. He spoke a few words to the security guard in fluent French, who smiled and let them in.
As they entered the living room, Margaret was surprised by the simple black, white, and gray decor, accented with cozy, unique touches that made the space feel inviting.
"William, we meet again," a casually dressed man in his fifties greeted them from the stairs. He was fit and didn't have the typical middle-aged spread. He gave William a big hug and then turned to Margaret with a curious smile.
"William, who is this lovely lady? Last time you visited, you didn't have such a beautiful companion."
Margaret blushed and smiled shyly. William, proud and unreserved, took her hand.
"This is my fiancée, Margaret."
William introduced her to his friend, "This is David Lego, the prince I told you about."
Margaret nodded and exchanged pleasantries with David. They sat down to chat when suddenly, the door opened, and a stylish young girl burst in.
"Dad!"
She stopped short, seeing the guests. Her eyes lit up when she recognized Margaret. "Margaret! It's been so long! What brings you here today?"
"Do you know each other?" David asked, surprised.
Margaret smiled, "Yes, it's been a while!"
William looked puzzled. "Who is she?"
David chuckled, "This is my daughter, Michelle Lego. By our titles, she's a princess."
Margaret explained, "We met a couple of times when I had my studio. We got along well and became friends."
Michelle approached, about to say something, but her attention was caught by William. She had never seen such a handsome man, not in Parislia or Solstice. Her heart skipped a beat, and her ears felt warm.
"Margaret, is this your friend?" Michelle asked, smiling at William and then looking back at Margaret.
Margaret shook her head, "He's my fiancé, William."
Fiancé. Michelle's smile faltered for a moment. She hadn't expected William and Margaret to be a couple. The news dampened her spirits, as any young girl would feel disheartened to learn her crush was taken.
"Dad, I'm a bit tired from being out. I think I'll rest upstairs for a while," Michelle said, adjusting her emotions.
David nodded, and she went upstairs. Margaret watched her thoughtfully before turning her attention back to the conversation.
David didn't seem to notice anything amiss. As the evening approached, he glanced at the clock and suggested, "William, since it's your first time bringing your girlfriend here, and it's almost dinner time, how about we have a dinner party to welcome you?"
Margaret politely declined, recalling Michelle's earlier look. "No need, we have food at home, and we've been out all afternoon. I'm a bit tired, so we'll head back."
William looked at her with concern, "Are you okay? Feeling unwell?"
"I'm fine," Margaret reassured him, "just a bit sleepy. Let's go home."
