Chapter 320 Let's See If You Have What It Takes

Angel hesitated for a moment and thought that Lyle must be covering for Margaret.

She had seen it with her own eyes.

William's brows furrowed slightly, and his cold gaze fell on Angel.

Angel quickly explained, "William, I'm not lying to you. Even if you don't believe me, my video isn't fake. Margaret is definitely in there."

Lyle leaned against the door frame, watching Angel anxiously explain, smiling mockingly.

He thought, 'This woman is indeed very cunning. No wonder Margaret goes to such lengths to expose her true nature.'

Lyle crossed his arms, his tone laced with sarcasm. "If Angel really wants to fabricate something about me and Margaret, then go in and see for yourself if she's in there."

Angel feigned hesitation, still wanting to maintain her delicate and innocent image, not wanting to rush in and make William think she was a shrew.

She looked at William, who remained silent, staring at her coldly.

Angel clenched her fists secretly. She believed Margaret must be hiding in the room.

After all, she had just seen Margaret and Lyle walk in together.

Now that Lyle was saying this, it was nothing but a cover-up.

Lyle was an actor; his acting was top-notch. The calmer he appeared, the more suspicious it was.

Lyle must be saying this on purpose to make her and William drop the idea.

She couldn't miss such a good opportunity.

She had to catch Margaret in the act.

Thinking of this, Angel said, "Since Lyle said so, I'll go in and take a good look, to put William at ease. After all, Margaret is William's fiancée; it's normal for us to be concerned."

Angel found herself a legitimate reason and eagerly walked into the room.

She quickly rushed to the bed, lifted the covers, but didn't see Margaret.

Angel was slightly stunned, thinking that Margaret must have hidden while Lyle was talking to them.

But she searched the entire presidential suite and still didn't find Margaret.

How could this be?

She had clearly seen Margaret come in.

Angel glanced at William, who was still standing at the door, feeling increasingly cold inside.

If she couldn't find Margaret, it would prove she was lying.

William had already been very cold to her recently. If he thought she was deceiving him now, he would be even more disappointed in her.

Angel's heart gradually filled with despair.

"William." Angel returned to the door, at a loss for words.

"Well? No one, right, Angel? I told you I hadn't seen Margaret today. You must have been mistaken. Why are you slandering me and her?" Lyle looked at her, full of mockery.

"I..." Angel bit her lip hard, cautiously looking at William.

His face was cold, his indifferent eyes devoid of any emotion.

But just like that, Angel knew he was angry.

"William, let me explain. I really saw Lyle and Margaret come in together. Lyle must have hidden Margaret," Angel said unwillingly.

She couldn't understand how Margaret could suddenly disappear.

"Really?" William said coldly.

Angel nodded repeatedly. "It's true! William, I must have missed something earlier. Why don't we search again?"

Lyle, hearing this, looked coldly at William, his tone mocking. "William, Margaret trusts and likes you so much, but today it seems your trust in her isn't very high. It's a shame she likes you so much."

"None of your business," William replied coldly, not even glancing at Angel, and turned to leave.

Seeing him leave, Angel hurriedly followed.

William's strides were large, and Angel struggled to keep up.

She kept explaining as she chased, "William, I really don't know what's going on. I clearly saw it and even took a video for you. It is them. They must be playing tricks. Do you believe me, William? William, I wouldn't falsely accuse anyone, especially Margaret, your fiancée. I wouldn't. I've repented and would never falsely accuse her!"

William slammed the car door and drove away.

Throughout, he didn't respond to Angel's explanations, not even giving her a glance.

Watching him leave, Angel clenched her fists tightly.

She knew William was angry and thought she was lying.

"Why, clearly..." Angel muttered, feeling lost.

"Clearly saw me and Lyle enter the elevator, clearly asked the hotel front desk and confirmed we booked a room, but couldn't find me in the room, right?" Margaret's mocking voice suddenly came from behind Angel.

She turned around abruptly, seeing Margaret's clear eyes and calm, charming face.

Realizing Margaret wasn't drunk, Angel's heart sank, suddenly realizing.

She had been set up by Margaret and Lyle.

Angel immediately understood the whole situation. This was Margaret's trap, deliberately making her look bad in front of William, making her lose his trust completely.

"You! So despicable!" Angel gritted her teeth.

Margaret raised an eyebrow, hands in her pockets, smiling confidently. "You asked for it! When I was in the hospital, you pretended to be innocent and repentant. William couldn't see through it, but I could. Now he's completely disappointed in you. You should give up!"

Angel frowned, her eyes filled with venom, staring at Margaret. "Impossible! I will never give up on William. He should be mine. I was here first. Why did you take him? You're homewrecker!"

"Delusional." Margaret sneered. "Angel, no matter what tricks you play, I will hold onto William tightly this time. I won't let you take him. He's the man I, Margaret, have chosen. If you dare to fight me, see if you have what it takes!"
