Chapter 395 The Plan in the Study

"William, what the heck are you doing? Let go!"

Margaret struggled as William yanked her out of the hospital room and into the hallway. She tried to pull her wrist free, but his grip was too strong.

William suddenly stopped and turned to face her, his eyes burning with intensity. Margaret seized the moment to pull her hand back, rubbing her wrist with her other hand.

"Stop being so jealous."

"You're my girlfriend."

William was beyond frustrated. He couldn't wrap his head around why Lyle kept hanging around Margaret, acting like he didn't even exist.

Even though their engagement was off, he was convinced that Margaret would be his someday.

William wrapped his arm around Margaret's waist, pulling her close.

He kissed her passionately, making Margaret feel lightheaded. She instinctively stood on her tiptoes and wrapped her arms around his neck.

The kiss was filled with desire, longing, and possession.

Only a few people were passing through the hospital hallway, and those who did, like curious kids, were quickly ushered away by their parents.

After what felt like an eternity, William finally let go of Margaret, his hand slowly sliding away from her back.

He whispered in her ear, "I can't help but be jealous."

It was his heartfelt confession to Margaret.

Margaret's face was still flushed, and even her ears were red. Hearing William's words, she felt a warmth in her heart. Despite his occasional childishness, it was all because he loved her.

"Alright, I get what you're worried about."

Margaret composed herself and smoothed out William's shirt, patiently explaining.

"I've been taking care of Lyle in the hospital because he saved me. As for what I said earlier, you know, he just woke up. I need to wait until he's better before I can talk to him. Don't be jealous."

"But Lyle knows about us," William shot back as soon as Margaret finished speaking.

Even though Margaret kept assuring him that there was nothing between her and Lyle, and he knew what kind of person Margaret was, he couldn't help but worry that over time, they might develop feelings for each other.

William hated how Lyle was always around Margaret, expressing his love.

Seeing William's serious expression, Margaret couldn't help but shake her head, a hint of a helpless smile on her lips.

Forget it, better not mention Lyle.

"Did Angel do anything weird after you told her about the plan?"

William thought for a moment, his expression becoming more serious.

"Angel hasn't done anything particularly strange. She's still trying to get into the study and wants me to join her."

Margaret felt a bit uncomfortable hearing this, but she knew that exposing Angel was more important.

She turned her head and said seriously to William, "It seems she's starting to act. But you'll have to endure a bit more and meet her demands. This way, Angel will take the bait faster and reveal more flaws."

"You!" William frowned slightly, clearly confused by Margaret's words.

He raised his arm, his finger poised to tap Margaret's head, but he paused and lowered his hand, nodding. "Don't worry, I know what to do. But you need to keep your distance from Lyle."

"I understand."

Water Moon Estate.

Jack called again, "Angel, how many days has it been? When are you going to get the North Bay plan?"

Every time Angel received a call from Jack, she felt a deep sense of fear, but she couldn't resist.

Now, she could only reply softly, "I've been deceiving William, Jack. Just give me two more days, I'll get it—"

"Two days! Again with the two days!"

Jack's voice on the other end of the line sounded impatient.

Jack sat in his office chair, tugging at his tie in frustration, his eyes filled with disdain and weariness.

"I've given you enough time. I need that plan by this weekend, or else, you deal with the consequences!"

The phone went dead, and Angel put it down, feeling increasingly anxious. She knew Jack's methods.

She had hoped to gain William's trust and marry into the Fisher family, using it as leverage against Jack.

But now, it seemed like a big problem.

No, she couldn't wait any longer!

William wasn't home, and the study was usually unlocked. If the plan was in the study, now was the perfect opportunity.

Angel made up her mind and quietly left her room, heading to the study. She turned the doorknob gently.

It wasn't locked.

Angel entered the study and saw several folders on the second shelf. She took them all down and started flipping through them frantically, but found nothing.

Time was running out. William was supposed to be back for lunch.

Angel suddenly remembered this, and her movements became even more hurried. She ran to the desk drawers and finally found a sealed folder at the bottom of the third drawer, containing a single sheet of paper.

"North Bay Amusement Park Plan"

This was it!

Angel's eyes lit up with joy. She quickly took out her phone and snapped a picture of the document.

She was about to send it to Jack when she hesitated, her hand hovering over the "send" button.

Jack needed this plan urgently, so he might not do anything to her for a while. If she sent it now, she'd lose a valuable bargaining chip.

Angel hesitated, biting her lip, and decided to hold off.

Just then, she heard the sound of a key turning in the lock.

Angel's heart skipped a beat. She quickly put the document back in its place and closed the drawer just as William entered.

Their eyes met.

William frowned slightly and asked, "Angel, what are you doing in the study?"

Angel quickly composed herself, hiding her panic with a smile. "The nurse didn't come today, and I was bored at home, so I thought I'd clean up a bit. I just finished wiping the desk. If you don't want me here, I'll leave right away."
