Chapter 282 What You Want, Must Be There

Margaret rolled her eyes at William. "Jerk!"

"What? Did you hope something would happen between us last night?" William's lips curled up, his tone teasing.

"You wish!" Margaret was furious, her face flushed with anger.

William chuckled deeply, suddenly leaning in, his thin lips close to Margaret's ear, his voice husky. "You're absolutely right, I do wish, very much."

That voice was filled with temptation.

Margaret's face turned blush involuntarily. She quickly pushed William away, cleared her throat, and said, "Didn't you say you were going to have breakfast? Hurry up!"

"Okay," William responded lightly, stopped teasing her, and turned to go downstairs.

Margaret watched William leave the room, quickly got out of bed, and got dressed.

The embarrassing scenes from last night gradually surfaced in Margaret's mind, becoming clearer and clearer.

Yesterday, she remembered William carrying her to bed and kissing her passionately.

'Why did William stop later? Am I not attractive enough? What am I thinking? Stop it!' Margaret patted her cheeks with her hands, took a deep breath, and chased away those inexplicable emotions.

After washing up, she went downstairs and looked at the sumptuous breakfast spread, all her favorites.

But Margaret had no appetite at the moment.

She had a headache.

She didn't know what kind of medicine Grace gave her last night, but it was really strong.

Even after a whole night, she still felt very uncomfortable.

Margaret rubbed her temples, and suddenly a large, well-defined hand appeared in front of her.

William handed Margaret a glass and some pills, his tone gentle. "Have some breakfast and take your cold medicine."

Margaret couldn't help but feel a warmth in her heart.

The always aloof William could also be so attentive and gentle.

During her cold these past few days, William had been taking care of her.

Personally making sure she took her medicine on time, slept and rested on time, and properly recuperated.

"Okay." Margaret took the pills, obediently drank a few sips of porridge, and then took the medicine.

Seeing Margaret obediently take the medicine, William smiled, and he picked up a fork, elegantly starting his breakfast.

Even such a simple action as eating breakfast, William performed with unparalleled elegance and nobility, like a natural-born king.

Margaret couldn't help but be a little dazed.

"Had enough of staring?" William raised an eyebrow.

Margaret snapped back to reality and pursed her lips. "William, I want to eat a cake from WonderWhirl Desserts."

William paused, his thin lips slightly parted. "These don't suit your taste?"

"Suddenly I don't want these, I just want a donut from WonderWhirl Desserts." Margaret didn't know where the sudden mood came from, but she just wanted it.

"I'll go get it for you, wait at home." William put down what he was holding, stood up, grabbed his coat, and prepared to leave without another word.

"Wait." Margaret looked at the time. "WonderWhirl Desserts only serves breakfast until ten in the morning, and it's already nine now. Plus, WonderWhirl Desserts is far away there, it'll be closed by the time you get there."

He paused and turned to look at her. "If it's something you want, I must get it."

"Wait at home like a good girl."

Margaret sat in the chair, William's words still echoing in her ears.

This man, cold and distant to others, always managed to catch her attention in unintentional moments.

Just then, a text message notification pulled Margaret back to reality.

She looked down and saw that William had left in such a hurry that he forgot his phone.

It was a traffic violation notice for running a red light.

So William ran a red light to get her the cake.

Soon, the text message notifications kept coming.

Margaret couldn't help but thought, 'Goodness! How many red lights did William run? Isn't he afraid of danger or getting into an accident? He is really willing to risk his life for my small request?'

A warm feeling surged through Margaret's heart. She walked to the couch and lazily lay down, her mind filled with William's handsome face.

She had tested him enough, hadn't she?

During this time, William had saved her more than once.

He must be sincere towards her, right?

But what about Marjorie?

These days, Angel was in the hospital and kept calling William.

Although William's attitude was always cold, Margaret still felt uncomfortable.

She could tell that Angel hadn't given up on William.

But William had his bodyguards keep an eye on Angel, not letting her run around.

This allowed Margaret to have a few peaceful days.

Margaret had a feeling that Angel, that hypocritical woman, wouldn't give up so easily.

She was probably plotting some scheme against her!

Margaret was lost in thought when, over an hour later, William returned.

"Here you go." William stepped in and placed a box with the WonderWhirl Desserts logo in front of Margaret.

His expression was still cold, and if it weren't for those text messages, Margaret wouldn't have imagined that he had run countless red lights to get her this box of donuts.

"Thank you." Margaret looked at William with a touch of emotion in her eyes.

William pointed to the box with his well-defined fingers, his gaze softening a bit. "Eat up."

Margaret opened the box, and the beautiful donuts looked incredibly appetizing.

She raised her eyebrows, gently picked up one with her fingers, and put it in her mouth.

The sweet taste was exactly as she imagined, satisfying Margaret's taste buds.

She opened her eyes to see William looking at her with a faint smile. "Eat slowly."

Before he finished speaking, Margaret quickly ate another one

Watching the woman in front of him gobble down the food, William's gaze unconsciously softened a few degrees.

"Today's donuts are the best I've ever had in my life." Margaret smiled, hinting at something.

"Really?" William's lips held a faint smile.

Margaret nodded, suddenly remembering something, and said, "Next time, don't do that for me, running red lights all the way. If something happened to you, I would feel very guilty."

She finished the last bite of the donut, leaned back on the couch contentedly, and lazily looked up at him.

Margaret looked like a lazy little kitten, extremely cute.

William's heart stirred, and he suddenly leaned in close to Margaret, unable to resist kissing her red lips.
