Chapter 196 Royal Radiance's Comeback

"Margaret? Didn't you quit?" Angel heard the voice, looked up, and saw Margaret standing right there. She made a big show of widening her eyes in surprise.

"Yeah, I did, but William didn't sign off on it." Margaret shot a cold glance at William, smirking. "So, here I am."

"William, is that true?" Angel's hurt puppy eyes turned to William.

William gave a slight nod. "Marjorie, this spot's Margaret's. I'll find you another one."

Angel stood up, trying to be all considerate. "William, I thought Margaret had quit, so I took her seat."

She paused, bit her lip, and looked down. "William, don't worry, I won't make a fuss. I'll move right now."

Angel packed her stuff and moved to an empty seat nearby. "William, is it cool if I sit here?"

"Yeah," William said casually, getting someone to help Angel set up her new spot before heading back to the CEO's office.

Margaret sat back down at her desk. She fired up her computer and got to work.

She'd been stuck in a cave at Glacial Crest, snowed in for days, and now she had a mountain of work to catch up on. As she skimmed through the recent sales reports for the "Ice and Fire" jewelry, her expression turned icy.

Something was off.

After all the promotions and the whole "Royal Radiance" plagiarism drama, which was basically free advertising for the Fisher Group, sales of "Ice and Fire" should've been booming. But instead, sales had tanked by 20%.

That made no sense.

Margaret quickly went through the materials and called a meeting with the relevant team members to get to the bottom of it.

In the conference room, Margaret pulled up the materials on the big screen. She turned to Oscar Stewart, the guy in charge of marketing, and asked, "Oscar, what's up with the recent sales of 'Ice and Fire' jewelry?"

Oscar squirmed under Margaret's intense stare and hesitated before speaking. "Margaret, sales have dropped compared to last month."

"Why?" Margaret's voice was ice-cold. "That's a 20% drop."

"Well, a bunch of low-end knockoffs have flooded the market, and they're super popular with the general public. Our produce is aimed at high-end buyers, and you know how picky they are. All these imitations have made our stuff look less exclusive," Oscar explained, wiping sweat from his forehead.

"Which company is behind this?" Margaret asked.

Oscar answered, "Our investigation points to 'Royal Radiance' as the culprit."

"Royal Radiance?" Margaret was a bit taken aback. Royal Radiance had pretty much crashed and burned in the industry after that plagiarism scandal.

Margaret's face turned even colder. "If they're knockoffs, why aren't we holding them accountable? Why not demand a public apology from Royal Radiance, get all their products pulled, and make them pay for our losses?"

"Ms. Scott, it's like this. Royal Radiance has been sneaky, avoiding the unique elements of 'Ice and Fire,' so it doesn't count as plagiarism. But yeah, it still looks a lot like our stuff," Oscar sighed, looking defeated.

"Got it. Keep an eye on this," Margaret narrowed her eyes. "You can get back to work now."

She hadn't expected that just a few days at Glacial Crest would lead to so much chaos when she got back. In just a few days, Royal Radiance had bounced back, using shady tactics to mess with the Fisher Group's jewelry business. Given the situation, she had to report to William and figure out a game plan.

Margaret headed back to her desk, planning to organize the info she had before talking to William. She hadn't slept well last night, so she decided to grab a cup of coffee in the break room. Holding the Royal Radiance info in one hand and a cup in the other, she walked to the break room. As she bent down to get water, she heard the click-clack of high heels from outside.

"Margaret!" Angel's voice came from behind her.

Margaret looked up and saw Angel storming towards her. She frowned and asked, "What's up?"

Angel slammed the break room door shut, strutted up to Margaret in her high heels, and said provocatively, "Margaret, you broke off the engagement with William and quit. Why'd you come back?"

"Does this have anything to do with you?" Margaret looked at Angel like she was an idiot and asked calmly.

Margaret's stare made Angel squirm. Angel smirked, took a few steps closer, and said in a deliberately suggestive tone, "Let me tell you something. Last night, William stayed over at my place. We spent the night together."

She pulled down her collar, showing off the hickeys on her neck. Those hickeys were actually from the blond guy from yesterday, but right now, they were glaringly obvious to Margaret.

"William said I'm the only woman he truly loves. He's gonna marry me." Angel smiled provocatively. "Margaret, if you know what's good for you, quit and never show your face around William again. He only loves me. Don't think you can seduce him or take him away!"

"If William only loves you, why are you so scared of losing him?" Margaret smiled, patted the documents in her hand, and said, "I need to report to William now. Move aside."

"You!" Angel glared at her furiously.

Margaret ignored her and walked past her out of the break room.

Watching Margaret's elegant and calm back, Angel's eyes flashed with undisguised jealousy.
