Chapter 26: Margaret is Leo

Margaret shoved William out and slammed the door, leaving him fuming. It was the first time a woman had kicked him out.

He had assigned Margaret the Lady Fashion project to help her grow and planned to mentor her personally, knowing it would be challenging for a newcomer.

But now, it seemed unnecessary. Margaret didn't appreciate his efforts at all.

Margaret had no idea what William was thinking at that moment. If she had known he considered her a newbie in need of training, she would have been flabbergasted.

After driving William away, Margaret took a small laptop out of her suitcase and opened an encrypted file.

It contained her designs for a new dress.

One of Margaret's identities was Leo, the world's most famous fashion designer.

Who was Leo?

Two years ago, Leo gained international fame by designing Princess Bellavita's wedding dress, quickly becoming one of the world's top fashion designers. Despite her success, she remained low-key, never appearing in public or giving interviews.

Her spokesperson, Juniper Hayes, made all the statements. Known only by the name Leo, her gender and age were a mystery. If people discovered that Leo was a young woman in her early twenties, they would be shocked.

Margaret threw herself into her work, made a few tweaks, and finally completed the design!

She sent the design to Juniper: [Launch the Sofia series immediately.]

Juniper quickly replied: [Got it.]

Before she knew it, it was Sunday.

Early in the morning, William took Margaret back to the Fisher family estate.

The Fisher family estate was a three-story villa situated halfway up a mountain, surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful scenery.

The butler, James Rodriguez, warmly welcomed William and Margaret inside.

"Where's Grandpa?" William asked as he stepped inside.

James smiled. "He's waiting for you inside. This must be Margaret; he's been talking about you for a long time."

Margaret smiled politely and nodded.

William extended his arm, signaling Margaret to take it.

Margaret looked at him warily. "What are you doing?"

William frowned slightly and said calmly, "I hope you can behave well in front of Grandpa. He's not in good health."

Margaret understood and, after a moment's hesitation, took his arm.

No matter what, she also hoped Bradley would recover soon.

They walked side by side into the living room.

In the living room sat an elderly man with silver hair and gold-rimmed glasses, William's grandfather, Bradley.

"Grandpa." William greeted the old man and quickly walked over.

Margaret followed behind him, showing a sweet smile. "Mr. Fisher, hello."

Bradley stood up, his loving gaze falling on Margaret. "Margaret, long time no see. You've grown into a fine young lady. Very good, very good."

The last time he saw Margaret was five years ago when she was still a somewhat shy girl.

Now, the girl before him was graceful and elegant, with bright eyes and a charming smile.

She matched William perfectly.

"How's your health? I've been thinking about you," Margaret said sweetly, supporting Bradley and observing him closely.

When Margaret was young and often sick, Xavier had hired a doctor for her, which led her to become proficient in medicine. She could tell by looking at someone's eyes if they were healthy, and Bradley seemed fine. Was he faking his illness?

It was clear William was very devoted to his grandfather, which made Bradley’s pretense even more understandable.

He had used this ruse to get William to bring Margaret to the Fisher estate, showing just how much effort he was putting in for his grandson.

But unfortunately, Margaret knew that her relationship with William was unlikely to work out, and Bradley would be disappointed in three months.

Margaret thought, glanced at William, contemplating the situation.

William, in turn, affectionately held Margaret's hand.

Margaret instinctively wanted to pull away, but remembering the agreement she had just made with William, she stiffened and smiled faintly.

In Bradley's eyes, the two seemed very close, and he couldn't help but smile with satisfaction.

At that moment, James's voice came, "Sir, Daisy and Miss Lucy are here."

Daisy?

Lucy?

Margaret frowned slightly, seeing Daisy walk in with Lucy.

"Dad, how's your health? Lucy specifically came to see you," Daisy said.

"Hello," Lucy said sweetly. "I heard you were ill, and I've been wanting to visit but didn't want to disturb you."

The smile on Bradley's face faded a bit.

He understood Lucy's feelings for William.

He also knew that his daughter-in-law, Daisy, favored Lucy and looked down on Margaret, who came from the countryside.

But in Bradley's eyes, Margaret was a thousand times better than Lucy.

And that was the truth.

They just didn't know Margaret's true identity.

"Mom, why are you here?" William's face darkened when he saw Lucy.

He and Margaret had come to visit Bradley, so what was Daisy doing bringing Lucy along?

"Lucy has been wanting to see Dad, and since we had some time today, we came together," Daisy said with a smile, subtly pushing Lucy closer to William.

Lucy got the hint and stood between William and Margaret, pressing close to William and pushing Margaret aside.

Margaret pressed her lips together, realizing that Daisy had brought Lucy to keep her at bay.

So, Daisy really didn't like her, huh?

Lucy looked at William with adoring eyes. "William, my brother is coming back to the country in a few days. How about we all get together?"

William coldly refused. "I'm busy."

"Are you very busy?" Lucy asked, unable to hide her disappointment.

William stepped around Lucy and put his arm around Margaret's waist. "Margaret just arrived in Ravenford, and I'll be showing her around."

Margaret was taken aback but then leaned into William's embrace, playing along. "I want you to go shopping with me."

William nodded indulgently. "Okay."

Seeing them so close, Lucy's face changed, but she forced herself to suppress her jealousy and handed a gift to Bradley.

Lucy smiled. "Sir, this is premium abalone, very nutritious and perfect for the elderly. My grandfather had it specially brought from abroad."

She then looked at Margaret and said sarcastically, "You probably haven't seen such good things in the countryside. Next time, I'll bring you some."

Ignoring Lucy's sarcasm, Margaret said calmly, "No need."

Lucy then asked, "What gift did you bring for Mr. Fisher?"
