Chapter 321 Inexplicable Hallucinations
"Fine, you think I'm afraid of you?" Angel retorted defiantly, "Margaret, let me tell you, William loves me! Eight years ago, I saved him, and that destined him to be mine! You must have seen it too, for the past eight years, he's been looking for me, never forgetting me!"
Seeing that she had completely angered her, Margaret smiled slightly.
Angel had fallen into the trap.
This time, the plan was to make Angel believe she had completely lost her place in William's heart.
And with her engagement to William coming up, Angel would definitely do something extreme.
By then, she would surely reveal a flaw.
Once she showed a flaw, the truth would be easy to uncover.
Margaret sighed deeply, planning to deliver an even more devastating blow to Angel.
She scrutinized Angel suspiciously. "Actually, Angel, are you really the Marjorie that William keeps talking about?"
Her gaze was penetrating, as if it could see right through Angel's thoughts.
Angel was startled by her words, and worried whether Margaret had discovered something.
Angel carefully recalled, and was positive that she hadn't shown any flaws recently.
Even William hadn't doubted her.
Margaret couldn't have discovered anything.
Thinking this, Angel raised her chin and met Margaret's gaze fearlessly, answering firmly, "Of course!"
Margaret sneered coldly. "But you are nothing like the innocent, kind, and lovely Marjorie that William talks about. You are malicious, scheming, and deceitful. How do you match up with the Marjorie in William's words?"
Angel flipped her long hair, looking around the empty underground parking lot. "If you hadn't taken William from me, how could I have done so many things? Margaret, don't think you're the only good person here. Don't you also put on an act in front of William?"
Angel let out a cold laugh, lifted her bag onto her shoulder, and turned to leave.
Margaret watched Angel's back thoughtfully.
She believed that at this moment, Angel had already fallen into the carefully trap she had set for her.
Margaret squinted as she watched Angel leave, noticing a deep scar on Angel's wrist.
For some reason, she found the scar very familiar.
She had never noticed it before, but this time she saw it clearly.
Hiss!
Margaret's mind kept replaying the image of that scar, and suddenly her clear mind ached.
Margaret gasped, clutching her head and instinctively closing her eyes.
Images flashed through her mind like a movie.
Both strange and familiar.
"Run quickly, no one will find you!" a little girl shouted to a little boy, looking around anxiously.
The little boy looked familiar, Margaret felt she had seen him somewhere, but the boy didn't leave. He seemed to be holding someone's hand, saying he would only leave if she came with him.
The little girl was very jealous, and at that moment, a fierce man discovered them, walking over and slapping the little girl to the ground, which was covered in broken glass.
The inside of the little girl's wrist was cut by the sharp glass, bleeding profusely, and all she could hear was the little girl's whimpering.
"Margaret?" William's voice brought her back to reality.
She looked up at William in a daze, gradually realizing that the boy's face in her mind overlapped with William's.
And Angel's scar was in the exact same place as the little girl's.
Margaret's heart sank bit by bit. 'Could Angel really be Marjorie? Is the little boy William? Then who am I?'
Margaret rubbed her temples, trying to think more clearly, but her head throbbed with pain, and even the images from before wouldn't reappear.
Could it be that she had been thinking too much about uncovering the truth from back then, leading to hallucinations?
However, those images were so real, as if she had experienced them herself.
William and Marjorie were kidnapped together back then, how could Margaret have experienced it herself?
"What's wrong?" William asked worriedly, seeing Margaret pale and sweating profusely.
He quickly stepped forward, holding Margaret's hand tightly, feeling her clammy palm.
"Margaret, are you okay?" William's voice was filled with concern.
"I..." Margaret looked at William, the words on the tip of her tongue swallowed back.
She didn't even understand what was going on.
Margaret hid her emotions and smiled. "I'm fine."
"Really?" William was still worried. "Did Angel say something to you?"
" I'm really fine. Or do you think I'm weaker than her?" Margaret pursed her lips.
William didn't press further, holding Margaret's hand and saying with concern, "Then go home and rest well. You've been exhausted these past few days because of my grandpa."
With his words, Margaret suddenly felt a wave of fatigue.
She yawned, "Then I'll go home and rest first. Make sure James takes good care of Bradley. You're not fully recovered yet."
"Got it." William paused, then leaned in close to her ear, his voice incredibly gentle. "My future wife!"
His warm breath made Margaret's face tingle, and she blushed, glaring at William. "Who's your future wife? We haven't even successfully gotten engaged yet!"
William's handsome face darkened, and he said gloomily, "Do you want us to fail the engagement again?"
Facing William's suddenly cold expression, Margaret coughed lightly, "I didn't mean that. Don't overthink it. Go home quickly!"
William opened the car door for her, and Margaret got in.
Sitting in the passenger seat, Margaret was about to fasten her seatbelt when William's handsome face suddenly leaned in.
"What are you doing?" Margaret looked wary.
William's eyes burned with a fiery intensity, "What do you think?"
"How would I know?" Meeting his heated gaze, Margaret raised an eyebrow.
"I remember someone saying this morning at the hospital that such things should be done in a more private place. I think this place is private enough. I heard it's quite thrilling in the car, why don't we try?" William looked around the car, and smiled playfully.
Margaret's face instantly turned blush with embarrassment.
She was thinking about kissing, but William was directly thinking about making love in the car!
