Chapter 73 Five Minutes

"Yeah, that's right." Margaret nodded, all serious-like. "As an endorser, character's everything. We ain't hiring anyone shady. So, on behalf of the Fisher Group, I'm ending your contract."

"No way! You can't just end my contract!" Annie looked at Bruce, all desperate."Babe, help me out. You know being the Fisher Group's endorser is my dream. You promised, so you gotta keep your word." Annie was banking on Bruce to save her.

Seeing Annie still acting all innocent, Bruce was fuming. He said, "I've already given you a shot, but your actions are just plain embarrassing. This mess is on you; I can't help you."

With that, Bruce turned and walked out of the studio. He really didn't wanna see Annie anymore.

"Wait, listen to me. I didn't mean to!" Annie chased after Bruce, but Margaret blocked her.

"Annie, don't you think you owe me an apology for what just happened?" Margaret asked.

"Apologize? To you?" Annie's face twisted with anger, her fists clenched.

If it wasn't for Margaret, she wouldn't have been humiliated today. Apologize to Margaret? No way!

But then, two cold voices rang out at the same time. "Apologize to Margaret!"

It was William and Lyle.

Annie's face kept changing. Why was everyone siding with Margaret? She'd already pissed off Bruce and couldn't afford to tick off William and Lyle too.

Annie gritted her teeth and said to Margaret, "I'm sorry, okay? Can I go now?"

Margaret still blocked her. "Change out of the dress first."

Annie shot Margaret a fierce glare, reluctantly went to the fitting room to change, and then rushed to catch up with Bruce. "Babe, wait up!"

Hearing her, Bruce paused and said, "Annie, what you did really let me down."

"I didn't mean to. I don't even know what got into me. I was just confused and messed up." Annie couldn't deny it anymore and tried to look pitiful, hoping to sway Bruce.

But Bruce wasn't having it. He looked at Annie coldly and said, "Annie, let's break up."

Annie thought, 'What? Break up? Bruce wants to break up with me? No, this can't be real! This has to be a bad dream.'

Bruce's words left Annie stunned.

After a moment, Annie snapped back. "Bruce, don't joke like that, okay?"

Bruce's gaze grew colder. "I'm not joking."

"No, I don't wanna break up!" Annie shouted. She'd worked so hard to get with Bruce, using every trick in the book to become his girlfriend. She couldn't let go now.

"Annie, you know I hate being pestered." Bruce frowned.

"Why? Is it because of Margaret?" Annie's eyes flashed with jealousy.

"Look at yourself. This has nothing to do with anyone else," Bruce said coldly, shaking off Annie's hand and walking away.

Watching Bruce's cold, distant back, Annie felt her heart sink. It was all Margaret's fault! If it wasn't for her, Bruce wouldn't wanna break up.

Annie's nails dug deep into her palms. Gritting her teeth, she thought, 'Margaret, you're gonna pay for this!'

Back in the studio, Margaret suddenly sneezed.

"You okay?" William asked, concern flashing in his eyes. He took off his suit jacket and draped it over Margaret's shoulders. "Don't catch a cold."

Margaret shook her head, smiling. "I'm good."

Lyle, watching from the side, felt a bit downcast.

"Looks like we can't shoot the commercial today," William frowned. "We need a new endorser and a new schedule."

With Annie's contract terminated, they had to find someone else.

"I've got someone in mind," Margaret said thoughtfully.

"Oh? Who?" William looked at her with interest.

"New star Seraphina. What do you think?" Margaret casually brushed a strand of hair from her forehead.

Seraphina was an actress signed with Starlight Entertainment. As a newcomer, Seraphina had been killing it lately. And her vibe matched the "Ice and Fire" theme perfectly.

Margaret had originally planned to have Seraphina as the endorser, but then the whole Annie mess happened.

"Okay," William raised an eyebrow. He didn't know much about Seraphina, but he trusted Margaret's judgment.

Margaret then looked at Lyle. "Mind lending us Seraphina for a few days?"

"No problem," Lyle agreed immediately and called Seraphina right away.

After hanging up, Lyle looked at Margaret with a deep gaze. "Seraphina will be here in half an hour. She should still make it in time for the shoot."

"Thanks," Margaret said, patting Lyle's shoulder with a smile.

This scene didn't go unnoticed by William, and his handsome face turned a bit colder.

What was the deal between Margaret and Lyle?

Half an hour later, Seraphina arrived on time.

"Mr. Pennington, is this for real? The Fisher Group really wants me as their endorser?" Seraphina asked, incredulous.

Lyle smiled faintly. "You're here, aren't you? Would I lie to you?"

"I didn't mean that. It's just so sudden and amazing." Seraphina's tone couldn't hide her excitement.

Becoming the Fisher Group's endorser was a dream for many stars. She was just a newcomer and didn't expect Lyle to give her this shot.

"Do your best," Lyle advised seriously. "Don't embarrass our company."

"I'll give it my all," Seraphina answered earnestly.

Seraphina's figure was similar to Annie's, so the dress custom-made for Annie should fit her perfectly.

But now the dress was missing a button.

"Have someone order a diamond button from Leo's studio," William instructed Peter.

Peter nodded and was about to contact Leo studio when Margaret interrupted. "No need for that. Give me five minutes, and we can start shooting."

What was Margaret planning to do in five minutes? William's puzzled gaze fell on Margaret. How could they shoot with a missing button on the dress?
