Chapter 157 Looking Forward to the Engagement Ceremony

"Engagement, huh? That works." Bradley let out a hearty laugh.

Bradley threw on his reading glasses and squinted at the calendar for a bit. Then he looked up at William and Margaret. "The 18th of this month, that's a solid day for your engagement."

"The 18th? Isn't that kinda rushed?" Margaret was a bit taken aback. It was already the 10th, leaving just eight days. It was definitely cutting it close! She didn't even have enough time to whip up a dress for herself.

William's intense gaze locked onto Margaret. He pulled her close and said in a clear tone, "It's not rushed. You don't need to prep anything. I'll give you a grand engagement ceremony. Just wait to be the most stunning bride."

Seeing William and Margaret all lovey-dovey, Bradley nodded in satisfaction. "Then it's settled."

Margaret was still a bit speechless.

"Grandpa, I'll keep tabs on Ulysses," William suddenly remembered. "Peter found the pilot. He was rescued by a foreign ship after the crash but got hurt and can't remember the crash."

"I see." Bradley frowned. "Get the best doctors on it."

"I've already set it up," William's eyes turned cold. "Grandpa, Ulysses was nuts enough to lock you up and mess with my plane to hurt me. I even think my dad's death is tied to him."

Bradley squinted, a complex look crossing his face. "Without solid proof, keep it under wraps. I really don't want it to be Ulysses."

After all, Ulysses was man he had raised since he was a kid, and Ulysses' dad had saved his life, sacrificing himself in the process. That's why Bradley took Ulysses in. Bradley really didn't want to believe Ulysses was a cutthroat in seizing power.

"I get it, Grandpa," William replied calmly.

The news of William and Margaret's engagement spread like wildfire, causing a huge buzz and topping the trends online. The comments were off the charts, with many sending their congrats:

[Mr. Fisher and Ms. Scott are finally getting engaged!]

[Congrats to them!]

[Mr. Fisher is getting engaged. So jealous! Just kidding, congrats to Mr. Fisher and Ms. Scott!]

But there were also plenty of haters trashing Margaret:

[Margaret Scott, that nobody, how is she worthy of Mr. Fisher?]

[Margaret is just a flirt, seducing men left and right. Mr. Fisher, don't fall for it!]

At the Fisher Group, in the CEO's office, William sat in his chair, his long fingers scrolling through his phone. Seeing those nasty comments about Margaret, he frowned. He called Peter in and said in a deep voice, "Delete all those negative comments."

Peter respectfully replied, "Yes, Mr. Fisher."

At Enigma Bar, with flickering lights, a young girl in a white dress stared blankly at the large photos of William and Margaret on her phone.

"Angel, why aren't you putting on makeup? The show starts in half an hour," Alice reminded her, noticing Angel glued to her phone.

Angel looked up, her face indifferent. "I know."

"What are you looking at?" Alice leaned over, curious.

Seeing the news about William and Margaret's engagement, Alice said enviously, "Angel, you're also following William and Margaret? I heard they're getting engaged soon."

"So what?" Angel snorted coldly.

Alice sighed, full of envy. "Margaret is the luckiest woman in the world to marry a guy as amazing as William!"

A cold glint flashed in Angel's eyes. "Not for long."

"Huh? What did you say?" Alice asked, surprised.

Angel smiled coldly. "You'll find out soon."

In no time, it was the 18th, the day of Margaret and William's engagement ceremony. William got up early and knocked on Margaret's door. "Margaret, you up?"

"Yeah." Margaret opened the door. "You're up early."

"Today's special. You didn't forget, did you?" William said with a gentle smile, his words loaded with meaning.

Margaret rubbed her hair. "I know. But it's still too early."

The woman in front of him, with sleepy eyes and flowing long hair, looked a bit lazy. William's eyes darkened, and he couldn't help but pull her slender waist into his arms.

Before Margaret could react, William's hot kiss had already landed.

"Alright," Margaret's chest heaved as she pushed him away. She thought for a moment and said, "I won't go to the company today. I'll chill at home in the morning and go with Juniper to get styled in the afternoon."

"I'll go with you." William pulled her back into his arms and kissed her forehead.

Margaret's body trembled slightly as she gently pushed him away. "No need, Juniper will be with me. Don't you have work at the company?"

"But I want to be with you." William pursed his lips.

On such a special and grand day, William didn't want to be apart from his fiancée for even a moment.

"How about this, I'll call you after I'm done with the styling, and you can come pick me up. For now, you should go to the company," Margaret suggested after thinking for a moment.

She knew William was a workaholic. After the incident with Ulysses, the Fisher Group had been somewhat affected, and William needed to invest more energy.

Seeing Margaret insist, William quickly kissed her on the cheek, his deep voice sounding. "Alright, I'll listen to my wife."

"Who's your wife? You're so impatient!" The term made Margaret's face flush.

Seeing Margaret's blush, William smiled happily.

"I'll go to the company first. Remember to call me in the afternoon, and I'll come pick you up," William reminded her.

Tonight, he would make his beloved woman the happiest woman in the world, making everyone envious of her. He was looking forward to tonight's engagement ceremony.
