Chapter 457 Angel's Escape from Prison

There she was again, face to face with Angel. Angel looked even more worn out than the last time they met, but seeing Lucy seemed to spark some life back into her.

"You finally showed up. When are you busting me outta here?"

Angel's eyes were filled with desperation as she looked at Lucy, her only hope for escape. She was willing to do anything to leave this place.

"What's the hurry?" Lucy replied with a calm smile, exuding her usual air of confidence. She discreetly slipped a key into Angel's hand.

"Tonight, between seven and eight, the guards switch shifts. I've already smoothed things over with the ones here, but there are still some outside who rotate shifts. Use this key to dodge the cameras, and once you're out the main gate, head west and climb over the wall. I'll have someone waiting for you there."

"Okay, okay," Angel nodded eagerly, clutching the key like it was her lifeline.

Lucy tightened her grip on Angel's wrist. "I've given you the key, but remember our deal. You gotta spill the beans on what I wanna know. Otherwise, the same way I got you out, I can put you back in. Got it?"

Angel hesitated for a moment before nodding quickly. "As long as you get me out, I'll tell you everything. I promise."

Satisfied with her assurance, Lucy released her hand and walked out of the prison.

Angel finally exhaled, opening her palm to gaze at the key, a sickly smile spreading across her face.

When night fell, Angel followed Lucy's instructions to the letter. Timing it perfectly with the guards' shift change, she quietly unlocked the prison door and slipped out, closing it behind her.

Having spent so much time there, she knew the camera positions by heart. Finally, she reached the spot Lucy had described, a blind spot shielded by a building where the guards never patrolled.

Climbing over the wall, she saw a white sedan waiting. Angel hurried over, opened the door, and slid into the backseat, surprised to find Lucy inside, resting with her eyes closed.

Hearing the noise, Lucy spoke lazily, "You're out? Let's roll."

The driver nodded, and the car started moving, streetlights passing by as they left the prison behind. Angel watched the scenery outside, feeling a sense of rebirth, though she had no idea where Lucy was taking her.

"Where are we headed?"

"You'll find out soon enough."

Half an hour later, the car stopped in the suburbs. Angel got out, bewildered, as Lucy led her into a dusty, long-abandoned villa.

"What is this place?"

Ignoring Angel's question, Lucy crossed her arms and looked at her. "I've kept my promise and got you out. Now it's your turn to spill the details about William and Marjorie's kidnapping. I'm not running a charity here."

Angel's eyes widened, realizing Lucy's true intentions. If she didn't spill about William and Marjorie, she might not leave this place alive.

Lucy had orchestrated a prison break; what wouldn't she dare to do?

Taking a deep breath, Angel agreed. "Fine, I'll tell you everything. But after this, you gotta help me get outta here. I don't wanna stay in Ravenford. I need to go abroad, somewhere safe. How do I know you won't just throw me back in the slammer after I spill the beans?"

Negotiating with her?

Lucy instinctively narrowed her eyes but eventually relaxed, nodding in agreement.

"Alright, as long as you tell me everything, I promise you'll leave Ravenford safely."

Her voice turned cold, "But don't try to pull a fast one on me. You know what'll happen if you do."

Angel felt a bit more at ease but still held back some information. Calming herself, she began recounting the details of William and Marjorie's abduction to Lucy.

"That's it."

Just as Lucy was about to ask for more, Angel stopped, clearly unwilling to continue.

"I'll tell you the rest once I'm safely abroad. I promise."

Lucy paused, casting a disdainful glance at Angel, but said nothing. She unzipped her bag, pulling out a card and a ticket.

"This is a ticket to Novastates, for the midnight ferry, three hours from now. I'll arrange for someone to take you there. The card's got enough cash for you to live in Novastates. But if I find out you lied to me, you'll be back. Understand?"

Angel didn't care anymore. Staying in Ravenford, thinking about William, meant her life was at risk. Why not do Lucy a favor?

Without her, William and Margaret wouldn't have it easy either.

She took the card from Lucy, slipping it into her pocket. "Don't worry, Ms. Clark. Once I'm safe abroad, I'll tell you everything. Just wait for my call."

Two days later, Lucy was at home when she received a call from an unknown number.

She answered without speaking, until Angel's voice came through, "Ms. Clark, hope you're well."

"Looks like you're settled. So, the rest of the story?" Lucy twirled her hair, already knowing it was Angel. No one else would be this secretive.

Angel's voice continued over the line, and Lucy listened silently. After the call ended, a barely noticeable smile appeared on her face.

Margaret, things were about to get interesting for you.

Margaret and William had been enjoying their time in Parislia, exploring and waiting for the design competition to start. Margaret was finally relaxing. Just as she and William arrived at the clock tower, ready to explore, her phone rang. It was Peter.
