Chapter 470 You Must Help Me
When Lucy saw the video, she was so furious she nearly ground her teeth to dust. Her obsession with William had reached a level of madness, and to make matters worse, there was a related news article below the video: [The Fisher Group CEO and Starlight Entertainment CEO will host their engagement ceremony next month.]
Lucy's face turned ashen, and she became agitated. Without hesitation, she closed the webpage and slammed her hand on the desk in anger.
Michael heard the noise and walked in, looking at Lucy with concern. He knew her emotions were unstable, and all he could do now was try his best to take care of her.
"Lucy, what's wrong?" Michael asked.
"Michael." Lucy sat in her chair, staring at the computer screen. She paused after saying his name, then turned to look at him. "You have to help me this time. William is going to marry that bitch. You have to help me!"
"William?" Michael's heart sank at the mention of the name. He had tried to persuade Lucy to let go countless times. William and Margaret were not people they could afford to mess with, but Lucy never listened.
Over time, he had no choice but to give up.
"Yes." Lucy nodded emphatically, speaking through gritted teeth. "He and Margaret are having their engagement ceremony next month. Michael, you're all I have now. You have to help me stop them from getting engaged!"
Michael was stunned. He looked at Lucy, speechless for a long time. He didn't understand what kind of spell William had cast on her to make her so obsessed. He didn't want to agree to such a thing, but seeing Lucy on the verge of madness, he couldn't harden his heart. He feared she might do something drastic, like attempt suicide.
He had promised their mother he would take good care of Lucy.
Finally, Michael gritted his teeth and reluctantly agreed, "I'll think of something, but you have to promise not to cause any trouble, okay?"
Seeing Michael agree, Lucy's expression finally relaxed, and a crazed smile appeared on her face.
"Michael, why don't you try to pursue Margaret? Or drug her. The Fisher family cares a lot about their future daughter-in-law's reputation. Plus, Mrs. Fisher doesn't like Margaret. If you can sleep with Margaret and let the Fisher family find out, she'll likely be unable to marry William. William won't want her anymore. Isn't that good?"
"You—" Michael was shocked by Lucy's suggestion. He was at a loss for words, his eyes filled with confusion. He couldn't understand why Lucy would turn herself into this for William.
Even suggesting he sleep with Margaret.
But—
Michael fell silent. Seeing this, Lucy grew anxious. She grabbed his wrist and looked at him earnestly, "I like him, Michael. Can you help me?"
Looking at Lucy's desperate expression, Michael's heart softened. He nodded and said reluctantly, "Okay, I'll help you, but you have to promise not to cause any trouble in the future."
"Okay."
Lucy nodded eagerly. As long as she could have William, she would do anything!
The next day, Michael went to Starlight Entertainment and specifically asked to see Margaret.
In the CEO's office.
"Mr. Clark, hello." Margaret was surprised to see Michael, but politely shook his hand. Although she didn't have a good impression of Lucy, she was neutral towards Michael. His biggest mistake was spoiling his sister too much.
But since he was a guest, she had no reason not to see him.
"Ms. Scott." Michael shook her hand briefly and then quickly let go, adjusting his suit as he sat on the sofa opposite her desk. Margaret sat beside him.
"Mr. Clark, what brings you here today?"
"Well," Michael hesitated for a moment before speaking, "Our company is looking to expand into the film and television industry. I've seen some of the new dramas your company has produced, and they're quite impressive. I'd like to invest in a new historical drama with a time-travel theme. The script is currently being written. I'd like your company to oversee the production. What do you think, Ms. Scott?"
Margaret was surprised. In her opinion, the Clark family had never ventured into the film and television industry. There were many companies with longer histories in the industry than Starlight Entertainment. Michael's choosing them was quite unexpected.
However, she kept these thoughts to herself. After a moment of consideration, Margaret agreed.
"Alright, if Mr. Clark is interested, we can give it a try. But once your script is ready, I'll need to review it before we proceed with the contract."
"Okay." Michael smiled, his eyes bright and warm.
"I'll bring the script over. I look forward to your response, Ms. Scott."
"If you're willing to personally oversee the production, I'll ensure Starlight Entertainment is listed as the primary producer. Additionally, your company's streaming platform will have exclusive rights to the series."
This was an incredibly generous offer. Although Margaret was suspicious, she was a businesswoman and had to consider the company's interests. With such favorable terms, why not give it a try?
The Hall family.
"Juniper, how are you feeling today?" Samuel sat beside Juniper, his face full of concern.
After the incident, Juniper had been in the hospital for nearly half a month. Although the baby was safe, she had undergone daily check-ups before being discharged. Dione was so worried that she immediately brought Juniper to the Hall Villa, afraid something might happen to her.
Hearing Samuel's question, Juniper smiled and shook her head, "I'm fine. The doctor said I'm okay. Besides, I've been staying at your place these past few days. What could go wrong? Don't worry about me."
Despite her words, Samuel was still anxious about the incident at the hospital. He had worked hard to win Juniper's heart and didn't want to lose her.
"Now that I'm the baby's father and you've agreed to marry me, as the head of the family, I must protect you both and ensure you're safe from any harm."
"Alright, alright. You can talk later. Juniper, drink this soup first."
