Chapter 289 I Want Margaret Dead
Leander looked up and glanced at the bodyguard. The bodyguard immediately understood, left the room, and closed the door.
In the private room, only Mia and Leander were left.
Leander looked Mia up and down, his eyes undisguised in their desire.
Despite feeling uncomfortable, Mia walked over and sat on the couch. "Leander, I'm here."
"Mia, you want me to kill that woman, Margaret, right?" Leander suddenly stood up, his slender frame accentuated by his thinness.
He wore a custom-made suit, but it couldn't hide the menace he exuded.
"Yes!" Mia said through gritted teeth, "I want Margaret dead!"
Leander swirled the wine in his glass, looking through the floor-to-ceiling window at the writhing bodies on the dance floor below. He squinted and said, "As long as you ask, I can guarantee it."
"Really?" Despite having done her homework before coming, Mia was still a bit skeptical.
After all, she had tried to harm Margaret many times before, all to no avail.
"Since you came to find me, you must have heard of my reputation in the underworld." Leander sipped his wine, a smirk playing on his thin lips. "Back when I was building my empire step by step, someone slashed my face, disfiguring me. I didn't even blink and immediately chopped off their head!"
His sinister expression made Mia feel a bit scared.
Instinctively, Mia wanted to flee. Her intuition told her this man was very dangerous!
But thinking of that bitch Margaret, she could endure it.
"What are your terms?" Mia asked.
She knew he was negotiating terms with her.
Seeing Mia so perceptive, Leander's fierce eyes showed satisfaction. He downed his wine and said, "Make love with me."
Faced with Leander's blatant gaze, Mia's expression froze.
She had already guessed this outcome before coming.
They were both adults, and Leander had pursued her for many years.
Now, she needed his help. Given Leander's personality, wouldn't he take the opportunity to force her to have sex with him?
The thought of submitting to such a ruthless and ugly man made Mia feel nauseous.
But to get rid of Margaret, she was willing!
After all, she had had sex with others before; this wouldn't be any different!
Mia clenched her fists tightly and walked towards Leander.
"I accept your terms," Mia said, biting her lip and making up her mind.
As soon as she finished speaking, Leander pinned her against the floor-to-ceiling window, his large hand quickly gripping her shoulder, and her collar was swiftly torn down.
"Right here?" Mia looked down. It was so clear that anyone who looked up could see her shameful state.
After all, she was the heiress of the Davis Family, a person of status!
"What? Unwilling?" Leander leaned close to her ear, savoring her scent and sniffing her hair. "Don't forget, you're the one asking me. You have no right to choose."
Mia's pupils contracted. She couldn't forget that the man pressing down on her was the notorious and ruthless Leander of the underworld.
She had no way to refuse.
Mia closed her eyes in acquiescence, and Leander quickly stripped her of all her clothes.
The feeling of shame spread through every cell in Mia's body.
She clenched her fists tightly.
All of this was thanks to that bitch Margaret!
Margaret had taken Lyle from her, causing her to be humiliated by Leander now!
She would settle this score soon!
After work, Margaret, worried about Bradley's condition, went straight to the hospital.
As soon as she entered the ward, she saw Patterson and several other doctors examining Bradley.
"Dr. Hawthorne, how is Bradley?" Margaret walked up and asked with concern.
Seeing Margaret, Patterson smiled. "Ms. Scott, you're just in time. We just finished examining Bradley. There's nothing major. Come take a look."
"Okay." Margaret nodded.
She stepped forward, carefully examining Bradley, and then, as Pryce had instructed, performed acupuncture on Bradley in the hospital bed.
Her method could only temporarily stabilize his condition and prevent further relapses.
She couldn't yet perform the final awakening acupuncture that Pryce had mentioned.
While Margaret was performing acupuncture on Bradley, doctors with decades of experience gathered around her, watching and taking notes, afraid to miss any details.
If outsiders saw this, they would surely be shocked.
These renowned medical experts were humbly learning from a girl in her early twenties.
"Alright, check Bradley's condition every three hours. If there's any abnormality, notify me immediately," Margaret said to Patterson, who was standing beside her.
Patterson quickly agreed. "Yes, Ms. Scott."
"Then I'll be leaving now." Margaret turned to leave.
"Ms. Scott, are you leaving already?" Dr. Marshall looked a bit disappointed as he saw Margaret about to leave.
He hadn't learned enough yet.
Margaret was right last time; traditional medicine was profound. He had been too hasty in his judgment before. Now, he felt nothing but admiration for Margaret.
"Yes." Margaret could see his intention, but she had no time for teaching.
As soon as she stepped out of the hospital, it was already dark.
The sky was filled with dark clouds.
In a moment, a torrential downpour began, and Margaret, without an umbrella, was instantly drenched.
Margaret frowned at the terrible weather.
She quickly got into her car, planning to drive home and change clothes.
She had caught a severe cold from the last time she got wet, and it hadn't fully healed yet. She couldn't afford to worsen her condition.
Margaret gripped the steering wheel tightly and sped down the road.
At a red light, Margaret instinctively pressed the brake.
But the brake didn't respond!
Margaret pressed the brake harder, but still no response!
Her pupils contracted. Someone had tampered with her brakes!
Someone wanted her dead!
Margaret controlled the steering wheel, making timely turns. She kept pressing the brake, but it was useless.
She smelled a conspiracy. Someone had been planning this for a long time.
"Damn it!" Margaret frowned, her strong mind quickly calming her down.
She opened the navigation system, checked the road conditions, and tried to avoid red lights, steering the car towards a secluded area.
She needed to force the car to stop.
In a busy area, a chain reaction of car accidents would be disastrous!
Margaret turned the steering wheel, driving into an empty alley filled with abandoned, broken garbage.
This was the best place to stop the car!
