Chapter 370 Who Do You Think You Are?

Pryce nodded, but his expression turned serious when he saw Alden's right leg.

Juniper had been supporting Alden, nervously watching Pryce. After seeing Margaret's look, she slowly helped Alden sit on a nearby chair.

Pryce removed the old bandages from Alden's leg, only to find that the wound had worsened.

He pressed his lips together and carefully examined Alden's wound, pressing the surrounding skin with his fingers. Alden frowned in pain, breaking out in a cold sweat, but gritted his teeth and remained silent.

Pryce straightened up, and Juniper, with her hands tightly clasped, quickly asked, "Pryce, how is Alden's condition? Can his leg be healed?"

Pryce shook his head, his expression very serious. "His right leg is severely injured, and it's been left untreated for too long. The wound has worsened and affected the nerves. Even if I do my best, it may not fully recover. In other words, even if his leg heals, he might be left with a disability."

"What?" Juniper exclaimed.

Alden seemed to have anticipated this, looking down in a resigned manner, not saying a word, just letting out a grunt.

Juniper's tears fell immediately upon hearing this. She had cried many times over the past few days, but her heart still ached. She looked at Alden with tear-filled eyes.

She thought to herself, 'Alden must be feeling terrible too, right? But no matter what, I can't just leave him like this!'

Juniper made up her mind, clenched her right hand into a fist, and looked at Pryce earnestly, almost pleading, "Pryce, please do everything you can to heal Alden. I can't just leave him like this, or he might need an amputation. He would be devastated!"

As she spoke, tears continued to fall, and she instinctively looked in Alden's direction.

But Alden acted as if he hadn't heard her, ignoring her words.

Margaret looked at Juniper with a heart full of pity and also turned to Pryce. "Pryce, please help him."

According to Margaret's judgment, with Pryce's medical skills, Alden's leg could have been healed.

But Alden didn't take care of himself, leading to the current situation.

Even if Pryce used acupuncture to avoid amputation, he might still be left with a disability.

Pryce thought for a moment and finally nodded. "Alright, I'll do my best to treat his leg. I'll go prepare for the acupuncture."

Who knew that the previously silent Alden would suddenly shout like a madman when he saw Pryce going to get the acupuncture kit, "No! I don't need you to treat my leg! You're all quacks! I'm already a cripple! Why bother? Get out, all of you!"

As he spoke, he glared at everyone trying to approach him, especially Juniper.

"Alden, have you had enough?" Margaret couldn't stand it anymore, her heart full of anger. She couldn't help but shouted, quickly stepping forward and chopping Alden on the back of his neck.

Alden's vision went black, and he passed out.

"Alden, what's wrong?" Juniper was very worried and wanted to check on Alden.

Margaret pulled Juniper back, shook her head, and comforted her, "It's okay, I just hit a pressure point on his neck to make him quiet for a while so Pryce can focus on the acupuncture."

Then she turned to Pryce, who was coming with the sterilized acupuncture kit, and nodded. "Pryce, please."

When Alden woke up again, it was already evening. Juniper was sitting beside him, stirring a bowl of porridge.

He glanced down and saw his right leg had been re-bandaged.

"Alden, you're finally awake, that's great! Pryce has already done the acupuncture and re-bandaged your leg." Juniper smiled as she saw him wake up, scooping a spoonful of porridge and bringing it to his mouth. "You've been asleep for a few hours. Have some porridge first; Pryce said you can only eat light food for now."

"Why did you save me?" Alden ignored the porridge, turned his head away from Juniper, and after a long pause, dryly said.

Juniper froze, ignoring his words and smiling. "Because you're my boyfriend!"

"I'm not your boy friend," Alden quickly interrupted as he turned his head to glare at Juniper, his eyes turning red with anger.

He couldn't help but thought, 'Why doesn't Juniper understand?

I am a poor boy, even a cripple now, Juniper will be dragged down by me if she stays with me.

This stupid girl, why does she still come to me?'

He forced down his heartache and the urge to hug Juniper, and said angrily to the puzzled Juniper, "I have told you we broke up. Why did you come looking for me? Juniper, why didn't I realize you were so stubborn before! You are a pampered rich girl, and I'm just a poor guy. I was only with you for your family's money. Who do you think you are? Do you think I can't live without you? You're overestimating yourself!"

Alden's voice was almost hoarse, his eyes filled with anger as if Juniper had done something unforgivable.

Juniper was stunned, her expression shifting from joy to shock to disappointment. Finally, she lowered her eyes and placed the porridge on the bedside table.

"Alden, you're in a bad mood right now, it's okay. I'll leave for now. The porridge is here, remember to have it." Juniper walked out of the hotel, her eyes red again. She looked up slightly, forcing back her tears.

In the following days, she continued to come to the hotel room to take care of Alden's daily needs, but Alden remained cold and never spoke kindly to her.

At Bar, Juniper sat at the bar, ignoring the bartender's attempts to chat her up, holding a glass of pale yellow whiskey, and took another big gulp.

She had already had four or five drinks.

Juniper, drunk and flushed, rested her head on her arms, staring at the glass in front of her, mumbling, "Alden!"

Samuel was also at the bar with some friends. When he came out of the booth, he saw Juniper at the bar.

He stopped immediately, looking at her back with a hint of pain in his eyes.

"I'll be there in a bit," He waved to his friends and then walked towards Juniper.

He reached Juniper's side, seeing her drunken state, instinctively glanced at the bartender, and finally turned his concern into a sigh, gently placing his hand on Juniper's shoulder. "Juniper, you're drunk."
