Chapter 207 Margaret is the Other Woman

"You want me to say sorry? Margaret Scott, do you even deserve it?" Mia shot Margaret a look that could kill, her eyes practically spitting fire.

Margaret's eyebrows knitted together in confusion. She racked her brain and was sure she'd never crossed paths with Mia before. Heck, she didn't even know her, let alone piss her off. So why was Mia acting like she had a personal vendetta?

Seeing Mia's outburst, the reporters swarmed in like bees to honey, shoving their mics in her face.

"Ms. Davis, what’s the deal? Do you have beef with Margaret?"

"Ms. Davis, you claimed Margaret trashed Grace's dress, but turns out she didn't. So, were you seeing things, or were you just making stuff up? Care to explain?"

"Yeah, I did it on purpose," Mia said, not even flinching.

The reporters went nuts, firing off more questions.

"Ms. Davis, why’d you do it on purpose?"

"Ms. Davis, don’t you think it’s shady to falsely accuse Margaret?"

"Shady?" Mia scoffed, her voice dripping with anger. "Margaret's a homewrecker! She had the nerve to go after my fiancé! Why should I play nice with someone so low? Why should I show her any mercy?"

The more Mia talked, the more worked up she got, her voice full of venom.

Margaret stared at the fuming Mia, totally baffled. She didn’t even know Mia, so how could she have stolen her fiancé and become a homewrecker?

She thought, 'Is Mia mixing me up with someone else? Doesn't seem like it! Is she nuts? An internationally famous pianist like Mia, crazy? That doesn’t add up either!'

Even Lucy, standing nearby, looked intrigued. Seeing Mia call Margaret a homewrecker, Lucy couldn’t help but grin. 'Is there a plot twist today? Being a homewrecker is way worse than ruining a dress. If Margaret’s guilty of that, public opinion will flip, and the false accusations from me and Grace will be forgotten. Looks like today’s gonna be interesting.'

While Margaret was still trying to make sense of it all, another reporter asked, "Ms. Davis, if Margaret seduced your fiancé, who is he?"

Mia dropped a bombshell. "My fiancé is Lyle!"

Margaret was floored. She’d known Lyle forever, but he never mentioned having a fiancée named Mia. Margaret knew Lyle well; if he had a fiancée, he wouldn’t keep it a secret, let alone chase after her while engaged.

"Ms. Davis, is your fiancé the popular actor Lyle Pennington?" a reporter asked, needing confirmation.

There had been tons of rumors about Margaret and Lyle being more than friends, even living together. If Mia was really Lyle’s fiancée, it would be a showdown for the ages between the fiancée and the mistress! Such juicy news couldn’t be ignored.

"Yep, it’s him," Mia nodded, dead serious.

"Ms. Davis, why has there never been any news about your engagement to Lyle? Is it because of Lyle's special status?"

"Why are you suddenly revealing your relationship with Lyle now? Aren't you afraid it will affect his acting career?"

With such juicy gossip, the reporters swarmed around Mia like sharks smelling blood.

"It's like this. Our families go way back, and my marriage to Lyle was set up when we were kids," Mia explained, clearing her throat. "Over the years, both Lyle and I have been busy with our careers abroad, and because of Lyle's status as a popular actor, we kept our relationship on the down-low."

After a pause, Mia's tone shifted, and she shot Margaret a jealous glare. "As for why I'm spilling the beans now, it's because someone shamelessly clings to my fiancé! And that person is Margaret Scott!"

Being called out, Margaret furrowed her brows but hadn't even opened her mouth when the reporters rushed her.

"Ms. Scott, got any response to Ms. Davis's claims? Are you living with Lyle like she said?"

"Ms. Scott, did you know Lyle had a fiancée? Did you know his fiancée is the internationally renowned pianist Mia Davis? Are you cool with being the other woman?"

"Ms. Scott, knowing Lyle has a fiancée, yet living with him, is this a declaration of war against Ms. Davis? Will Lyle dump Ms. Davis for you?"

Question after question bombarded Margaret. She rubbed her temples, feeling a headache coming on, then pushed the reporters aside and walked up to Mia, speaking coldly, "Mia, do you know that slander is illegal?"

"Slander?" Mia's eyes, filled with jealousy, bore into Margaret. "Can you say you haven't been clinging to Lyle? Can you say the apartment you're living in isn't Lyle's?"

"Yes, I am living in Lyle's apartment, but that's a completely different matter!" Margaret said calmly.

"Alright, so you're admitting to living with Lyle! Margaret, you shameless bitch!" Mia twisted Margaret's words and raised her hand to slap her hard.

"Mia, don't push it!" Margaret shouted.

Just as she was about to push Mia away, a large, well-defined hand suddenly grabbed Mia's arm tightly. It was William!

Margaret looked at the cold-faced William in surprise. His face was dark, exuding a chilling aura that made people shiver.

When Mia said Margaret and Lyle had that kind of relationship, William's face turned dark.

William had heard about the relationship between the Davis family and the Pennington family. He had also vaguely heard that Lyle and Mia were engaged. But for some reason, the Pennington family and the Davis family never mentioned the engagement again.

Now, Mia suddenly appeared, claiming Margaret had interfered with her engagement to Lyle and was living with Lyle, which made William very unhappy! If Margaret wasn't entangled with Lyle, why would Mia be so jealous!

But seeing Margaret about to be hit, he couldn't help but step forward to protect her.

At this moment, someone suddenly shouted, "Lyle is here!"
