Chapter 201 The Guy From the Airport

A cold, sharp voice came from behind, making Margaret freeze in her tracks. She spun around to see the guy on the hospital bed was awake. His eyebrows were sharp like swords, his lips thin and tight, and his eyes were piercing right through her.

Margaret flashed a smile and said, "Hey, you were in a car crash earlier. I brought you to the hospital."

The guy squinted and smirked, "Oh, really?"

Margaret nodded. "Yeah, don't sweat it. The doc checked you out. Nothing major. You should call your folks to come hang with you."

She glanced at her watch and added, "It's super late. If you’re good, I’m gonna bounce. Get some rest."

With that, Margaret turned and left.

The guy's intense gaze followed her, and his lips curled into a sly smile. He thought, 'Margaret, huh? Bet we’ll cross paths again soon.'

The next day was the weekend. Margaret got up early. In two days, she had to go to the hospital to do acupuncture on Bradley. She was a bit jittery since it was a big deal, and it was Bradley, after all. No room for screw-ups. So, Margaret grabbed the medical kit Pryce had left her, along with some medical books, and started studying hard.

Remembering the acupuncture techniques Pryce used on Bradley, Margaret practiced on herself a few times and got the hang of it pretty quick. She let out a sigh of relief, thinking she should be good to go.

Margaret practiced a bit more, then packed everything up. Seeing it was still early, she decided to go out and buy a birthday gift for Lyle. She hit up a boutique.

"Need any help?" The sales assistant greeted her warmly.

"Just browsing." Margaret smiled.

The sales assistant nodded. "If you need anything, just holler."

Margaret smiled back. "Thanks!"

Just then, the boutique's door opened, and a young woman in a white dress walked in, all elegant and classy. As she passed by Margaret, her cold gaze lingered on her for a few seconds, with a hint of hostility.

Margaret looked up at her. She seemed familiar. Looked like the famous pianist Mia Davis, who was super popular lately.

"Ms. Davis, need any help?" The sales assistant recognized Mia and rushed over.

Mia pulled her gaze away and said coolly, "Give me that scarf."

Seeing Mia wasn’t staring at her anymore, Margaret shrugged it off and kept looking for a gift for Lyle. Finally, she picked out a tie. "Hey, can I see this tie?" she asked the sales assistant.

At that moment, Lucy and Grace walked by the boutique's entrance.

"Lucy, isn't that Margaret?" Grace spotted her inside and stopped.

Lucy looked in and saw Margaret.

"What's she doing in there?" Lucy squinted and asked coldly.

Grace replied, "Probably shopping."

"Let's go in and check it out," Lucy sneered.

'Margaret used to flaunt her status as William's fiancée and, with his help, always looked down on me. Now, she's been dumped and is just a nobody. Let's see what she's got to be proud of now!' With that thought, Lucy, strutting in her high heels, marched over to Margaret with Grace trailing behind and pointed at the tie in Margaret's hand. "I want that tie!"

Lucy’s familiar voice hit Margaret's ears. She looked up to see Lucy and Grace standing there, looking all smug. The sales assistant glanced at Lucy, a bit uneasy, and said cautiously, "Ms. Clark, this tie has already been chosen by this lady."

"I'll pay double!" Lucy snapped, glaring at Margaret. She still hadn't gotten over losing out to Margaret on the dress before. Now that William wasn't backing her, what right did Margaret have to compete with her? Today, she was getting her revenge!

The sales assistant looked at Margaret with pleading eyes. "Miss, maybe you could pick something else?" The Clark family's heiress wasn't someone a sales assistant could afford to tick off.

Margaret glanced at Lucy, unfazed. "If you want it, take it. I wasn't that into it anyway."

Ignoring Lucy, Margaret pointed to another tie and said to the sales assistant, "Show me that one."

Lucy immediately butted in, "I want that one too. Wrap it up!"

Margaret frowned slightly. 'Is Lucy trying to mess with me again?'

She didn't want to deal with Lucy, but since Lucy was pushing it, she wouldn't back down!

Margaret pointed to the priciest tie and smiled at the sales assistant. "Show me this one."

"Anything Margaret wants, I want them all!" Lucy said, a smug grin on her face.

Margaret smiled faintly and randomly pointed around. "This one, this one, and this one! I want everything in this store."

"Wrap them all up for me!" Lucy said grandly, raising her eyebrows.

Grace tugged at Lucy's hand and whispered, "Lucy, Margaret is just provoking you. Don't fall for it."

"What, you think I can't afford it?" Lucy snapped at Grace.

The Clark family had plenty of cash. Lucy wasn't short on money. As long as she could stop Margaret from buying anything and make her leave empty-handed, it was worth it. It made her happy!

Margaret looked at Lucy like she was an idiot, not wanting to waste any more time, and turned to leave.

"Margaret, you just gonna walk away?" Grace stepped forward, blocking her path.

Margaret frowned and said coldly, "Move!"

"I’m warning you, stop clinging to Lyle!" Grace's eyes were filled with jealousy.

Lately, gossip columns had been buzzing with rumors about Margaret and Lyle. Especially after seeing Margaret move into Lyle's apartment in East Garden, Grace was even more jealous.

Hearing the name "Lyle," Mia, who had been standing aside, suddenly looked up and stared at Margaret, her eyes filled with the same jealousy as Grace's.
