Chapter 225 Total Defeat

William clocked the dudes in the pic right away; they were the same guys who'd chased Angel over some debt the day they finally met up again after ages. Angel had darted into the street 'cause of those debt collectors and bam, smacked right into William's car.

That day was still fresh in his mind, like it happened yesterday. But now, did Angel already know these two clowns in the photo?

Margaret shot Angel a snarky look. "Angel, care to explain this?"

"It's just a pic, what does it prove?" Angel's heart skipped a beat, but she played it cool. "I just borrowed some cash from them, no biggie."

"William, you know my grandma was super sick and needed surgery money, so I borrowed from them at a crazy interest rate." Angel bit her lip, looking all pitiful.

"Borrowed money?" Margaret sneered, her voice cutting. "According to what Anthony dug up, you handed these two guys $200,000 on October 13th! Didn’t you say you were drowning in high-interest debt 'cause of your grandma? Where’d the $200,000 come from?"

Angel's face went stiff. She couldn't believe Anthony had even found out about the $200,000. She took a deep breath, forced herself to stay calm, and shot back, "What $200,000? Stop making stuff up!"

Margaret's smile was slow and icy. "You'll find out soon enough."

"What game are you playing now?" Angel's breath hitched, and fear started creeping in. Things were spiraling way out of her control.

Margaret glanced at Anthony. "Anthony, show 'em what you got."

Anthony snapped his fingers. "On it!"

He opened his laptop, clicked on a video, and hit play.

The video was shot in a coffee shop. In the corner, Angel was sitting across from the two guys. She pulled out two bags and handed them to one of the bearded dudes. "Here's $200,000, count it."

The bearded guy opened the bag, grinning at the sight of all those Benjamins.

"Don't sweat it, just tell us what you need." The bearded guy smiled, his face all smug.

Angel smiled and whispered something to him. The bearded guy nodded a lot. "Sure thing, we'll do what you want!"

The video cut off, and Anthony turned to Margaret. "Ms. Scott, I hacked into the coffee shop's surveillance to get this."

Angel stared at the screen, totally floored.

"Alright, it's crystal clear now." Margaret looked at Angel coldly and sneered, "Angel, you paid these two guys to fake being debt collectors, so you could crash into William's car."

Pausing, Margaret's voice got even colder. "You planned to show up on my engagement day, trying to wreck our ceremony!"

"Angel, is this true?" William's eyes were icy cold.

The video Anthony found was pretty damning.

The whole run-in with William that day was a setup by Angel. That same day, Margaret called off the engagement in front of everyone, and Bradley had a heart attack, landing him in the hospital. So yeah, Angel was the puppet master behind all this chaos!

"No, it's not like that!" Angel felt the icy vibe from William and started shaking. "William, hear me out."

"Angel, the proof's right here. What more can you say?" Margaret shot back, throwing Angel's own words at her.

Angel's fingers clenched tight, her eyes blazing with anger and defiance as she glared at Margaret. "No, I didn't! This is all your setup!"

Margaret's eyes went dark. "Setup? Are you saying the famous hacker Anthony faked this video just to frame you? Get over yourself."

"If you doubt the video's real, bring those two guys here and face them." Margaret pressed on.

Angel's expression kept shifting, she tried to speak, but nothing came out.

"Also, I have proof you leaked Fisher Group's bid to BPL." Margaret walked over to Anthony's laptop and started clicking around. She pulled up several photos, all showing Angel and Ulysses.

"Angel, got anything else to say?" Margaret stood up, her cold eyes locked on Angel.

Angel was in shock. She had totally lost to Margaret!

"Angel, you’ve let me down so much." William, who had been quiet, suddenly stood up, his cold eyes fixed on Angel. The chill he gave off seemed to drop the room's temperature to freezing.

"William, let me explain!" Angel's eyes were red, her voice shaking.

Margaret sneered. "Explain? You leaked Fisher Group's bid and tried to frame me, I'd love to hear this explanation."

Angel's bloodshot eyes were filled with hatred for Margaret. She clenched her fists and gritted her teeth. "Yeah, I did it all! I paid those guys to stage that reunion with William. I leaked Fisher Group's bid to BPL and tried to frame you!"

Seeing Angel confess, Margaret's lips curled into a mocking smile.

"Angel, why'd you do this?" William's voice was full of disappointment. He never thought the Marjorie, someone he had special feelings for, would be like this.

"William, I did it all for you!" Angel fell to the ground, looking at William with a mix of obsession and madness. "William, I love you, don't you get it?"

Margaret couldn't help but sneer. "You love William, so you leaked Fisher Group's bid, making him lose the North Bay project? That's your love?"

"Margaret, it's all your fault!" Angel screamed hysterically, "If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have done this!"

"Unbelievable!" Margaret looked down at the nearly insane Angel and sneered coldly.

Suddenly, Angel grabbed a fruit knife from the table and lunged at Margaret, the sharp blade aimed right at her, screaming, "Margaret, go to hell!"
