Chapter 368 Can't Wait Another Moment
Hearing Lucy's confident statement, Lyle couldn't help but sneered.
Leaning against the desk, Lyle said to Lucy seriously, "Ms. Clark, forgive me for being blunt, but you're too naive. If William and Margaret could be separated by a few words from us, you wouldn't be here today."
This remark undoubtedly hit Lucy's sore spot. Her hand clenched slightly, and her smile faded a bit. "So what?"
Lyle shook his head, looking at Lucy with a cold gaze, and said unceremoniously, "So, I don't want to cooperate with you. Although I like Margaret, I would never use such dishonorable means to get her. You've got the wrong person."
Lyle's refusal was clear, and Lucy's eyes dimmed for a moment.
"If there's nothing else, Ms. Clark, please leave!" Lyle unceremoniously issued an eviction order.
Lucy stood up from the couch abruptly, glaring at Lyle. "Lyle, I hope you won't regret what you said one day."
With that, Lucy left quickly.
Grace, who was following Lucy, had a barely noticeable darkening in her eyes, thinking, 'Lucy is trying to involve Lyle again. She wants to get William, so she is forcing Lyle and Margaret together? No way! Lyle is mine! It seems the lesson I gave Lucy last time is too light.'
Margaret returned home and received a call from Lyle. "Margaret, are you home?"
"Just got home. What's up?" Margaret answered while changing her shoes at the entrance.
"It's about the opening ceremony of 'The Last Actor.' I need to talk to you in person," Lyle said and then hung up.
Twenty minutes later, the doorbell rang.
Margaret opened the door to see Lyle's tall figure standing at the entrance.
"Come in," Margaret smiled.
Lyle nodded and stepped in. "The company is holding the opening ceremony for the movie in three days. We must attend to show how much we value this project. Are you available?"
"So soon?" Margaret rubbed her temples. She had been so busy these days that she almost forgot about this.
Lyle said in a deep voice, "It's not soon. Any later, and we won't make it to the international film festival."
Margaret replied, "Okay, I understand. 'The Last Actor' is my script. I will definitely attend."
"Margaret, haven't had dinner yet? How about we eat together?" Lyle looked at Margaret with deep eyes after finishing the business talk.
She had lost some weight in the past few days.
Lyle felt a bit distressed, knowing that Margaret had been busy looking for Juniper's boyfriend, running around everywhere.
"No need," Margaret shook her head, refusing.
She felt exhausted after a busy day and just wanted to stay home and rest.
Lyle's eyes dimmed a bit. Just as he was about to say something, there was a sudden knock on the door, followed by William's magnetic voice. "Margaret!"
Margaret was stunned for a moment.
She opened the door. "Why are you here?"
William's gaze fell on Lyle in the living room, and his handsome face turned a bit cold. "Lyle, it's late. What are you doing here?"
Margaret knew William's temper too well. It wasn't even that late, but he had to say that. So he must be jealous again!
Margaret patiently explained, "We were discussing work."
"Really?" William smiledcoldly. "So, have you finished discussing work?"
"Yes." Margaret shrugged.
"If you're done, Lyle, why aren't you leaving?" William unceremoniously issued an eviction order.
William could see the way Lyle looked at Margaret. He hadn't given up on her at all.
This made William very unhappy.
Sensing William's growing jealousy, Margaret said to Lyle with some helplessness, "You should go. I'll be there on time for the opening ceremony."
"Okay, I'm leaving," Lyle stood up, his handsome face full of disappointment.
As the door closed, Margaret turned around and glared at William. "Lyle was really talking about work with me. Why are you jealous and scared him away?"
"I saw him chatting happily with my wife. Shouldn't I be jealous?" William reached out and pulled Margaret into his arms, lowering his voice deliberately.
He lifted her chin, her beautiful face close, still blushing.
William suddenly felt his throat tighten. It had been a long time since he had been this close to Margaret. Coupled with his earlier jealousy, he couldn't help but felt a surge of emotion. He grabbed Margaret's chin and kissed her forcefully.
Margaret's words were cut off by the kiss, met with William's domineering kiss.
William forcefully pried open her teeth, his tongue exploring inside.
Margaret sat on his lap, her head tilted back, responding passively, her hands unconsciously gripping his shoulders, wrinkling his suit.
"Margaret." As the kiss deepened, William's hands began to wander, sliding along Margaret's waist, trying to lift her shirt, his voice tinged with a hint of desire.
"I missed you so much," As soon as he finished speaking, he lifted Margaret horizontally and walked into the bedroom, placing her on the bed.
William lowered his head, looking seriously into her eyes, his fingers caressing her cheek, slowly sliding to her neck and collarbone, gently stroking.
Then, he kissed her again, but this time, it was gentle and tender.
Margaret suddenly felt nervous, her heart pounding.
She didn't refuse, but as her nightgown was about to be lifted, she suddenly came to her senses.
She pressed down on William's hand, half-opening her eyes, looking at him hazily.
She said, "William, I know you miss me, and I miss you too, but not now. Let's not do this, okay?"
The more Margaret spoke, the clearer she became. Her tone was still gentle but firmly rejecting.
William froze, not knowing what to say for a moment.
"Didn't you say you would respect me?" Margaret took a few deep breaths and pushed William away.
William's eyes still burned with desire, his voice low and hoarse. "But I can't wait any longer."
"Not now," Margaret was a person of principles. "You promised me, so you have to keep your word."
