Chapter 355 Don't Want to Go to Maplewood
Margaret walked up to the doctor, her gaze falling on the medical kit. "Do you have any needles here?"
"Yes, Ms. Scott," The doctor replied, somewhat puzzled, but still took out a silver needle from the kit and handed it to Margaret.
Margaret carefully sterilized the silver needle, then walked over to Juniper and said softly, "Juniper, Alden's condition is serious, but not incurable. If we can get Pryce to treat him, his leg will be fine. For now, I'll perform acupuncture on him."
Hearing her words, Juniper's eyes lit up at her words.
Previously, when William had injured his leg badly after falling off a cliff to save Margaret, Pryce had healed him.
Thinking of this, Juniper grabbed Margaret's arm excitedly and pleaded. "Margaret, please heal Alden."
"Don't worry, I'll do my best." Margaret nodded.
Juniper stepped aside, and Margaret walked over to the stretcher and bent down.
Alden's leg wounds were already bandaged, and the surrounding scrapes and bruises had been treated. However, the intact skin around his calf had turned a shocking shade of purple.
Margaret paused, recalling the acupuncture techniques Pryce had taught her, then picked up the silver needle and skillfully inserted it into the acupuncture points on Alden's leg.
Juniper stood by, her heart in her throat, hands clenched tightly, her thumbs turning red from the pressure.
She silently prayed, 'Alden, you have to get better!'
Perhaps the needle stimulated blood circulation, and combined with the pain, Alden suddenly groaned, his brows furrowing involuntarily.
"Alden!" Juniper noticed the movement of the unconscious man and became extremely emotional, tightly holding his hand and smiling. "Are you waking up?"
However, Alden remained motionless.
"Juniper, he won't wake up so quickly," Margaret said, frowning.
Margaret focused all her attention on treating Alden's right leg. With a total of five needles, the purple bruises on his entire right leg began to swell and spread.
Juniper felt a wave of disappointment, looking at the man she loved, whose life was hanging by a thread. She wished she could take his place and endure the pain for him.
"Juniper, don't worry. You have to trust Ms. Scott's medical skills. Your boyfriend will be fine," Samuel walked over to Juniper and comforted her.
For some reason, seeing Juniper so worried about Alden, Samuel felt a strange pang of jealousy.
Twenty minutes passed, and the purple bruises on Alden's right leg gradually faded, turning into swelling. The doctors and nurses in the ambulance were all stunned, but Margaret breathed a sigh of relief.
"He's out of immediate danger," Margaret said, smiling slightly as she removed the silver needles from Alden's body. "Let's get Alden to the hospital as soon as possible."
Juniper snapped out of it and asked the driver, "How much longer to the hospital?"
"About fifteen minutes."
The mountain road was rough and difficult to navigate, with debris and branches making the journey slow and arduous. They finally made it out of the mountains and reached a nearby town's hospital.
Due to the earthquake, the hospital was crowded with injured people, and cries filled the air.
Margaret felt a heavy weight on her heart.
The doctor arranged a quiet ward for Alden and conducted a thorough examination.
Juniper sat nearby, her hand pressed to her forehead, feeling extremely anxious.
After a detailed examination, the doctor spoke with a serious tone, "The patient was buried under the rubble for too long. It's a miracle he's alive. His leg was crushed by heavy objects, causing varying degrees of muscle and nerve damage. Given the current situation, he might have to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. Our hospital's medical facilities are also quite limited, so there's not much more we can do."
Margaret interrupted the doctor, "The situation isn't that bleak. Use the best medication you have on him. I'll handle the rest."
"Alright, Ms. Scott." The doctor nodded.
After the doctor left, Juniper's eyes were red with worry.
Samuel pursed his lips and tried to comfort her, "Juniper, calm down. Ms. Scott has already given Alden emergency treatment, and his right leg is at least saved for now. The doctor also mentioned the limited medical conditions here. Once Pryce arrives, your boyfriend will be fine."
"I'll contact Pryce right now," Margaret said, taking out her phone and dialing Pryce's number. "Hello, Pryce?"
"Margaret?" Pryce answered, surprised. "What's up?"
Margaret explained, "Pryce, I need your help. Juniper's boyfriend is seriously injured. Can you come and take a look at him?"
Pryce frowned. He knew Juniper was Margaret's good friend and had met her before.
Previously, at Glacial Crest, Juniper had done a lot to save Margaret.
Thinking of this, Pryce nodded. "Alright, where are you guys?"
"Maplewood." Margaret felt relieved when Pryce agreed.
However, upon hearing where they were, Pryce's smile froze, and he refused. "Sorry, I don't want to go to Maplewood. I'm afraid I can't help you."
Margaret had the phone on speaker, so everyone could hear Pryce's voice.
Juniper's emotions were like a roller coaster in those few minutes, rising and falling dramatically.
Initially, when Pryce agreed to help Alden, she breathed a sigh of relief. But why did Pryce refuse as soon as he heard "Maplewood," even changing his tone?
Seeing Juniper's anxious expression, Margaret quickly said, "Pryce, can you come to Ravenford? We'll bring Alden to Ravenford right away."
Pryce hesitated for a moment, then finally agreed. "Alright, Ravenford it is. I'll get there as soon as I can."
Juniper finally felt relieved, but then she was puzzled. "Great, Pryce agreed to help Alden. His leg will be saved! But why doesn't he want to come to Maplewood to find us?"
"I don't know either." Margaret was also puzzled. "But as long as he agreed, that's what matters. As for not wanting to come to Maplewood, it might be Pryce's personal matter. It's not our place to ask. Let's focus on getting Alden's leg treated first."
After the emergency treatment, Alden's condition finally improved a bit. Margaret and Juniper, exhausted from several days of stress, leaned against the bed and fell asleep.
The next day, as soon as Margaret opened her eyes, she heard Samuel excitedly say, "Wow, Ms. Scott, you're famous in Maplewood too."
"What?" Margaret was confused.
