Chapter 364 Alden's Disappearance
"Wait a moment!" Lyle walked to the desk, picked up some documents, and handed them to Margaret, his deep eyes fixed on her. "These are the actors and directors I've chosen. Take a look and see if there's anyone unsuitable."
Margaret took the documents and began to flip through them page by page.
The director Lyle had chosen specialized in art films, with a good grasp of camera language and detailed actor coaching. There was nothing to worry about, except for the female lead.
Margaret pointed to a photo in the documents, looked up at Lyle, and said, "I've seen Jessica Brown's work. Most of her previous roles were in period dramas. Her eye acting is good, but her temperament doesn't quite fit the character of the female lead. In my opinion, we should replace the female lead with Seraphina. Seraphina has a very clean temperament and is highly versatile."
Seraphina was practically built by Margaret herself, and she knew better than anyone what roles her employees were suited for. Moreover, since the last promotional shoot for the Fisher Group's "Ice and Fire" jewelry, Seraphina's popularity had soared.
Lyle pondered for a moment, then nodded. "Alright, this choice was just recently finalized, so we can still make changes. I'll call their agent right away."
After Lyle went out to make the call, Margaret received a call from Juniper just as she was subconsciously tapping her fingers on the coffee table. "Juniper, what's wrong?"
Juniper's voice came through the receiver, filled with urgency and tears. "Margaret, Alden is missing. I can't find him anywhere. What should I do?"
"What? Alden is missing?" Margaret was shocked by the news and immediately stood up from the couch, grabbing her bag and preparing to leave.
As she walked, she comforted Juniper, "Don't worry, I'm coming over right now. Wait for me!"
"Margaret, what's going on?" Seeing Margaret's sudden change in expression, Lyle quickly hung up and asked with concern.
"I have something urgent to deal with right now. I'll leave the matter of the actors to you. Call me if anything comes up!" With that, Margaret hurriedly left the office.
When Margaret arrived at the ward, she pushed the door open with a bang, finding only Juniper inside.
Juniper had her face buried in her hands, her shoulders trembling as she cried uncontrollably.
"What happened?" Margaret quickly walked over and held her shoulders, asking.
Juniper shook her head continuously, her voice trembling as she spoke, "I can't find him after searched the entire hospital. Where could he have gone? Could something have happened to him?"
Margaret frowned and looked around, indeed not seeing any sign of Alden.
She patted Juniper's back, comforting her, "Don't panic. Let's go out and look again. There's a park nearby. If Alden went out, someone must have seen him. Plus, his leg is injured, making it difficult for him to walk. He would be noticeable."
Juniper finally stopped crying, looked up at Margaret, and nodded.
The two of them left the hospital and started asking passersby if they had seen Alden.
But no one had seen Alden.
Juniper's mood grew heavier and heavier.
Juniper and Margaret made their way to the small park. By this time, Juniper was exhausted, her head throbbing, and she was extremely anxious.
"Alden, where on earth did you go?" Juniper leaned on the railing of the exercise equipment, looking around helplessly.
The park was crowded, but Alden was nowhere to be seen.
At this moment, a little boy walked over, tapped Juniper's wrist, and handed her a folded piece of paper. "Excuse me, a man asked me to give you this letter and told you not to look for him."
'A man? Could it be Alden?' Juniper suddenly perked up, looking around, but she didn't see Alden anywhere.
The little boy had already walked away. Juniper looked at the letter in her hand, feeling a mix of emotions. She slowly opened the paper, and sure enough, it was Alden's handwriting.
Juniper's heart skipped a beat as she read.
Alden: [Juniper, I'm very grateful to you and Margaret for rescuing me from the disaster area, but I truly don't love you anymore. Continuing this will do neither of us any good. Let's break up. By the time you read this letter, I will have already left the hospital. Don't look for me. Take care.]
The short lines of text pierced Juniper's heart. Tears fell onto the paper one by one. She had no idea where Alden could have gone.
Juniper slowly crouched down, crying out in despair. "Alden, why did you have to leave!"
Alden was gone, but what about his leg?
Pryce was coming tomorrow!
Why did Alden choose to leave now?
'Alden has gone, but what about his leg? Pryce is coming tomorrow! Why does Alden choose to leave now? If his leg doesn't get timely treatment, it will definitely be crippled!' Juniper didn't dare to think further.
At the Clark Family, "Lucy, even though you're out of the hospital, you still need to rest well. The doctor said you're still very weak," Michael placed a cup of warm water on the bedside table and sat down on the edge of the bed, reminding her.
Lucy lay in bed, having just been discharged and returned home today. The scars on her wrist had mostly healed, but a hideous scar remained, very noticeable.
"Yes, I will." Lucy nodded weakly, then remembered something and asked Michael, "Michael, where's William? Why hasn't he come to see me these past few days?"
Michael paused for a moment, then carefully said to Lucy, "William went to the disaster area for relief work. He won't be back for a while, and also..."
"And also what?" Lucy pressed.
Michael sighed deeply, "Margaret is back."
"Margaret is back?" Lucy sat up abruptly, her eyes changing, her voice rising. "How could she come back?"
She thought Margaret was really lucky that she survived a massive earthquake in Maplewood.
Lucy lowered her eyes, her right hand unconsciously gripping the bedsheet, her hand trembling slightly from the force, making the scar on her wrist even more noticeable.
Looking at the glaring scar on her wrist, hatred filled Lucy's eyes.
She cursed in her head, 'If it weren't for Margaret shamelessly stealing William's heart, I wouldn't have attempted suicide and have this ugly scar. Now that bitch Margaret had the nerve to come back! she was even completely unscathed!'
A sinister look flashed in Lucy's eyes. 'Margaret! You shameless bitch! I will never let you off!'
