Chapter 90 A Brilliant Comeback (Part 3)

"You’re talkin' crazy!" Ella bit her lip, her nails diggin' into her skin as she glared at Margaret. "Don’t mix up two different things! Nothin' you say can change the fact that you shoved me into the water at Lover's Lake!"

"You’re really stubborn." Margaret’s eyes went cold as she pulled out something Anthony had sent her.

Margaret opened the file. "This is your browser history. You searched for ways to make accidental deaths look like accidents, especially how to push someone into the water to make it look like an accidental drowning."

"No way, that’s not true! You’re setting me up!" A flash of panic crossed Ella’s eyes when she saw the browsing history on Margaret’s phone screen. How did Margaret have the browsing history?

Ella kept tellin' herself not to freak out. Those things she had deleted couldn’t possibly be recovered.

Taking a deep breath to calm herself, Ella forced a composed look. "These are all made up by you! I never browsed it! Margaret, you’re shameless to accuse me falsely!"

Margaret smiled faintly. "I’ve already asked Officer Gray to retrieve your computer. Yeah, you deleted the browsing history, but you probably don’t know that even if you clean it thoroughly, a skilled hacker can still recover it. We’ll see then if I’ve falsely accused you."

"You." Ella was at a loss for words. She opened her mouth to say something but was interrupted by Margaret.

"Don’t rush." Margaret took out a voice recorder and waved it. "I believe everyone will be more interested in this."

Under the curious gazes of the crowd, Margaret played it. It was a conversation between Ella and Ashley.

"Ella, your dad went gambling again and lost a lot of money. The debt collectors came this morning, looking very fierce. When can you help your dad pay off the debt?" Ashley’s loud voice said.

"Mom, don’t worry. Give me a little more time. Tomorrow, after tomorrow, I’ll be back at the Fisher Group, and then I’ll have money to pay it." Ella’s voice was filled with determined confidence.

"Really?" Ashley seemed skeptical.

Ella replied firmly, "Of course! As long as I get rid of Margaret, I can return to the Fisher Group!"

"Are you sure?" Ashley pressed.

"For sure. Tomorrow is my best chance!" Ella said viciously. "Tomorrow, Margaret is going to Lover's Lake to shoot an ad. As long as I find an opportunity to push her into the water when no one is looking, no one will notice I did it. They’ll just think she accidentally fell in!"

The reporters were in an uproar. They had all thought Margaret had pushed Ella into the water, but no one expected such a dramatic turn of events.

Margaret turned off the recording and looked at Ella with cold eyes. "Ella, got anything to say?"

Ella’s face turned pale and then flushed. She never expected Margaret to have a recording of her conversation with Ashley.

"Guys, as you can see, the Lover's Lake drama just took a wild turn," the reporter said, engaging with the audience. "With the evidence Margaret dropped, it looks like Ella might've planned the whole thing. But hey, the authorities will sort out the truth. We’re all hoping for a fair shake."

The live chat was blowing up.

[Ella, you shameless witch! Why didn’t you just drown!]

[We all got Margaret wrong. Sorry, girl!]

[Margaret’s comeback is epic! So badass!]

[Margaret is gorgeous and kind-hearted. Marry me!]

Outside the ward, William was chillin' on a bench, his deep eyes glued to the laptop screen, a slight smirk on his face.

Early that morning, he was gonna hand over the evidence Peter gave him to the cops. But when he saw Margaret leave the company, he couldn’t resist tailing her.

He didn’t expect her to head straight to Ella’s ward.

At that moment, reporters were grilling Ella, broadcasting how Margaret had supposedly wronged her. But Margaret, armed with solid evidence, exposed Ella, leaving her nowhere to hide.

No wonder Margaret stayed so cool despite getting roasted online yesterday. She had her counterattack all lined up, and it was flawless.

His so-called fiancée was getting more and more impressive.

After chatting with the audience for a few minutes, the reporters turned the mic to Ella. "Got any explanation for the recording Margaret just played?"

"It’s fake! All of it’s fake!" Ella clenched her fists and shouted through gritted teeth. "Margaret made all this up! She’s framing me!"

Just then, a clear, cold male voice came from outside the room. "Margaret didn’t frame you."

Margaret’s heart skipped a beat when she heard William's voice.

Everyone’s eyes snapped to the door. William, rocking a high-end custom-made black suit, showed off his perfect physique. His handsome face was sharp and cold, and his deep black eyes were intense.

He walked in with a steady stride, exuding a natural aura of authority that made everything else fade into the background. He was the undeniable center of attention.

The live chat went nuts.

[Finally, we see William!]

[Close-up on William!]

[William, I love you!]

Compared to the hype of the live audience, the reporters on the scene were a bit wary. After all, it was rumored that Margaret was William’s fiancée, and their previous reports had trashed Margaret.

"Sir, can you tell us why you’re here today?" a cautious entertainment reporter asked.

William stepped forward, right to Margaret’s side. His distinct hand held Margaret’s, and he said in a deep voice, "I’m here to seek justice for my fiancée."
