Chapter 181 William, I'll Go With You
William slammed the phone down, his face all scrunched up with worry and anxiety. He could barely wrap his head around the fact that Margaret got caught up in an avalanche.
He thought, 'What the hell? Isn't she supposed to be with Lyle? Why'd she suddenly head to Glacial Crest? Even if Pryce is there, why didn't she tell me? I could've sent someone.'
"Marjorie, you head back. I got some stuff to handle for a few days," William said, snapping back to reality and giving Marjorie, who was still hanging around, a cold glance.
Angel's smile froze on her face. She'd heard every word of William's convo with Juniper.
At first, Angel was thrilled hearing Margaret was in trouble. From the call, it sounded like Margaret went solo to Glacial Crest to find someone to treat Bradley and got caught in an avalanche.
Avalanches are no joke. Margaret might already be buried under the snow, cold and lifeless.
But seeing William so freaked out over Margaret, Angel's mood took a nosedive.
'That witch Margaret must be trying to win William back! Thank God she hit an avalanche!' Angel thought, quickly grabbing William and asking with fake concern, "William, what's wrong?"
"Margaret's in danger. I gotta go save her," William said, dead serious.
"I'm coming with you!" Angel insisted, trailing behind him.
Even though Angel thought Margaret was already buried under the snow, what if William actually saved her? She couldn't let that happen.
William stopped, frowned, and said, "Marjorie, it's super dangerous there. You should stay."
"But I'm worried about you," Angel pressed, "William, remember? We were kidnapped together and promised to stick together through thick and thin. Now you're going to a dangerous place alone. How can I just sit back?"
Bringing up the past, a wave of emotions hit William. He looked deeply at Angel. "Alright, come with me, but it's really dangerous. Be careful."
Angel beamed and grabbed William's arm. "With you around, I'm not scared of anything!"
"Then let's roll!" William said, rushing towards the airport.
As he walked, he called Peter to get all the Fisher family bodyguards to Glacial Crest to search for Margaret.
"William, wait up!" A dark glint flashed in Angel's eyes as she quickly followed. She'd never seen William so worked up over anyone. He was always so cool and collected. But when it came to Margaret, William was a mess.
Angel clenched her fists, thinking, 'Unless Margaret's already buried under the snow and never coming back, I'll make sure she doesn't get a break! No one's taking William from me!'
In a rush, William made it to the small village at the foot of Glacial Crest as fast as he could.
"Mr. Fisher, you're finally here!" Juniper rushed to meet him as soon as she saw him.
William's voice was ice-cold, dripping with tension and urgency. "What's the deal now? Found Margaret yet?"
Juniper shook her head, looking bummed. "Nope. We searched once but came up empty."
Before William got there, the rescue team had managed to get a helicopter. Juniper and a few team members had scoured the mountains and forests from the air but found zilch.
It had been thirty-six hours since Margaret went missing, and Juniper was on edge. She couldn't even imagine what might've happened to Margaret.
"Search again!" William's face was dead serious, his voice cold and commanding. He refused to believe Margaret was already buried in the snow! They'd been through so much crap before—a warehouse explosion, a plane crash—and Margaret had always come out okay. This time would be no different!
"William, don't stress too much," Angel gently tugged on William's arm and said softly, "Ms. Scott will be fine."
William glanced at the tired-looking Angel. "Marjorie, you must be beat. Rest here for a bit and wait for me."
"William, where are you going?" Angel asked quickly, seeing that William was about to ditch her.
William's face was tense, his tone firm. "I'm going to find Margaret."
"I'm coming with you!" Angel looked at William with pleading eyes.
She was terrified that William would actually find Margaret. It'd be best if Margaret was already a cold, lifeless body. If she was still alive, with William so worked up over her, who knew if they'd rekindle their old flame?
Angel had busted her butt to get Margaret and William to call off their engagement. No way she was letting that go to waste. So, she had to stick to William like glue. First, to show she cared about him, and second, to adapt to any situation. She couldn't let Margaret win William back!
Thinking of this, Angel smiled and said sincerely, "William, I know you're worried about Ms. Scott. I'm worried too. Seeing you like this, how can I just chill? Let me come with you. Many hands make light work. Maybe I can help."
Juniper finally noticed Angel trailing behind William. Seeing Angel's sincere expression, like she really cared about Margaret, Juniper sneered inwardly.
If she hadn't heard about Angel's antics from Margaret before, she might've been fooled by Angel's fake concern. Angel was clearly a piece of work, no wonder William was blinded by her and ignored Margaret's feelings to be with Angel at the engagement ceremony. Margaret was so awesome, but he couldn't see it. Instead, he chose this phony woman. How ridiculous.
But now wasn't the time to dwell on that. The urgent task was to find Margaret ASAP. Once Margaret was found, she'd naturally deal with this fake woman.
"Let's go!" William urged impatiently. He couldn't wait any longer and was desperate to find Margaret.
"Mr. Fisher, let's roll," Peter said respectfully, having prepped everything. "We're good to go anytime."
