Chapter 318 Put on a Good Show

Despite not having conclusive evidence yet, based on the current information, it was highly likely that Angel was a fake.

"What's wrong?" William wasn't really concerned whether Angel was Marjorie or not at this moment; he was just disappointed in Angel.

Moreover, the person he truly loved now was Margaret.

As for other women, he didn't even want to look at them.

William reached out and ruffled Margaret's hair, his usually cold eyes now filled with tenderness. "Are you still bothered by Angel? I can make sure she never appears in front of us again."

"No." Margaret shook her head.

"Then what?" William was a bit puzzled.

Margaret suddenly brought up Angel but said she wasn't bothered. So what was it?

"Didn't you say before that eight years ago, Marjorie fell off a cliff to save you?" Margaret looked up at William.

William nodded. "Yes."

The scene from that day suddenly flashed in William's mind.

The moment Marjorie fell off the cliff to save him was something he would never forget.

If Angel wasn't Marjorie, how did she know so much about what happened back then?

"Do you remember when Angel framed me for leaking the Fisher Group's bid and then exposed her scars to gain your sympathy?" Margaret thought for a moment and asked.

"Of course, I remember," William said in a deep voice.

That day, if it weren't for the fact that she was Marjorie, Angel would never have gotten away so easily after betraying the Fisher Group and framing Margaret.

Margaret squinted her eyes slightly. "If I'm not mistaken, those scars didn't look like they were from falling off a cliff, and they certainly weren't eight years old!"

"So, what do you mean?" William's handsome face turned cold, deep in thought.

Margaret's eyes were filled with determination and piercing insight. "William, play along with me in a little act, and I'll give you the truth about Marjorie."

"Alright." William agreed without hesitation.

Seeing him agree so readily, Margaret felt relieved. She had been worried that William's feelings for Marjorie would cloud his judgment and make him not believe her.

Unexpectedly, William chose to believe her without hesitation.

Margaret felt very gratified.

Now she just needed William to cooperate with her to make Angle expose herself.

"But Angel alone couldn't have done all this," Margaret thought for a moment and said, "We need to uncover the truth about Marjorie and find out who is behind Angel!"

"Who do you think is behind Angel?" William's cold eyes narrowed slightly, and after a brief thought, he had an answer.

Previously, Peter found out that Angel was adopted by someone from Aurorania, and coincidentally, Jack was also from Aurorania.

Connecting this to the previous incident of the Fisher Group's bid being leaked, the answer was obvious.

"What you're thinking is exactly what I'm thinking," Margaret said to William with a smile, as if she could read his mind.

She took out her phone and handed William the information Anthony had found earlier. "Look at this photo; it's Angel and Jack."

William's expression turned serious. "So it really is him!"

"Then let's put on a good show!" Margaret smiled deeply.

Half an hour later, Margaret hurriedly walked out of the hospital, her expression anxious and filled with anger.

She stood by the roadside and hailed a taxi.

By now, it was almost daylight, and Margaret quickly flagged one down.

Just as she opened the door and was about to get in, William's tall figure suddenly appeared, his distinct hand grabbing Margaret's arm.

"Margaret, don't go!" William's tone was somewhat domineering.

Margaret turned back and said coldly, "William, let go of me!"

William's handsome face was tense. "Margaret, what do you want? Why can't you forgive me? I didn't pretend to be disabled to deceive you on purpose; I just wanted to test if your love for me was real."

Hearing William's words, Margaret became even angrier.

William frowned, looking impatient. "Margaret, don't be unreasonable!"

"Unreasonable? How am I being unreasonable?" Margaret's eyes were filled with anger.

William spoke coldly, "Yes, I didn't consider your feelings and deceived you. But I've already apologized. Why are you still so aggressive? It's just a trivial matter; why do you have to blow it out of proportion?"

Margaret glared at William. "Apologize? If apologies were enough, there wouldn't be any criminals in this world!"

"Why are you so stubborn? Stop being unreasonable and come back with me!" William's forehead veins bulged, showing his extreme displeasure.

Margaret laughed in anger. "The truth is, you never loved me! If you loved me, you wouldn't have deceived me, and you wouldn't be talking to me like this now! You still can't forget Marjorie, can you? Or maybe you only ever loved Marjorie! It's ridiculous. If you don't trust me, then don't be with me. Let's end this once and for all!"

With that, Margaret forcefully pushed William away, slammed the car door shut, and the taxi sped off.

Leaving William standing there, his face full of anger.

This scene was witnessed by Angel, who was slowly walking out of the hospital.

She had been standing there, growing more and more fearful, realizing that Bradley's incident was a trap set by William and Margaret.

If she had arrived earlier, she would have been the one dead tonight.

Thinking about this made Angel shiver. As she walked out of the hospital, she saw the scene unfold.

Listening to their argument, Angel understood the gist of it.

Margaret was still angry about William pretending to be disabled.

And from Margaret's tone, it was clear that William still loved Marjorie, which made Margaret jealous and angry.

Their intense argument and breakup meant they wouldn't be getting married, giving her an opportunity.

Thinking that God was still favoring her, she had narrowly escaped danger several times now.

As long as she was Marjorie, William would never be able to let her go.

This time, she would definitely drive that shameless bitch Margaret away, and thought that William would ultimately be hers.
