Chapter 307 Let's Get Engaged Quickly

"If you hadn't come down to save me, you wouldn't have gotten hurt, and you wouldn't have..." Margaret looked up at him, her eyes filled with pain and guilt for him.

Before she could finish, William lowered his head and kissed the corner of her eye, wiping away the sparkling tears on her face.

His magnetic voice sounded in Margaret's ear. "Margaret, saving you was my choice because you are the woman I love the most. I must protect you."

Margaret's heart pounded fiercely at that moment. She threw herself into his arms, wrapping her hands around his waist.

At this moment, she just wanted to be a weak woman, leaning into the arms of the man she loved, absorbing the warmth from his body.

Margaret bit her lip. "William, let's get engaged as soon as possible."

William had done so much for her; she didn't want to wait any longer.

"No rush, James is looking for a famous astrologer to find a suitable date," William raised an eyebrow and said in a low voice.

The engagement should naturally be taken slowly; he wanted to give her the grandest and most luxurious engagement ceremony.

It would be great if Bradley could see it.

William looked out the window with cold eyes.

"You're thinking about your grandpa, aren't you?" Margaret immediately saw through William's thoughts and suggested, "Why don't we go see him?"

"Okay." William nodded in agreement.

Margaret helped him into the wheelchair, and the two of them pushed the wheelchair together towards Bradley's ward.

They saw Bradley still lying lifelessly on the hospital bed, tubes all over his body, connected to various medical instruments beside him. The heart monitor detected Bradley's weakly beating heart.

His condition was not good.

Margaret looked worriedly at William beside her, raising her hand to cover his large palm.

"Don't worry, I believe your grandpa will get better. When his body recovers to a certain point, I will immediately give him acupuncture treatment. By then, he will definitely wake up," She spoke with great confidence.

Margaret was confident she could heal Bradley.

"I believe you," William said slightly.

William held Bradley's hand, lowered his head, and looked at him with burning eyes, speaking in a deep voice, "Grandpa, I have good news for you. Margaret and I are getting engaged."

As his words fell, Bradley still lay there without any reaction.

William's eyes dimmed a bit.

But at that moment, Margaret suddenly grabbed his arm in surprise. "William, look, Bradley's finger moved."

William's gaze fell on Bradley's hand, and sure enough, he saw Bradley's hand move.

His eyes instantly brightened.

Margaret quickly pressed the nurse's bell, calling the nurse and Patterson to check on Bradley.

After the examination, Patterson spoke with a slightly cheerful tone, "Mr. William Fisher, Mr. Bradley Fisher's condition has finally improved. He was in a deep coma and had a critical condition before. We actually thought there was no hope."

Patterson paused and continued, "Fortunately, Ms. Scott was here. We just checked Bradley's body, and all his bodily functions are gradually recovering."

Hearing this, William let out a long sigh of relief.

Margaret held William's large hand, her tone firm. "William, don't worry. Bradley's condition has improved a lot. In a few days, I can give him the final acupuncture treatment, and he will wake up."

"Okay," William responded lightly.

Seeing the confidence in Margaret's eyes, William knew she must be fully confident in healing Bradley to say such things.

He then looked at Patterson. "From now on, please keep a close eye on my grandpa's condition."

"No problem." Patterson agreed readily.

Margaret pulled William's hand. "Don't worry, let's go back to the ward."

She knew it must have been because he told Bradley about their engagement that Bradley, even in a coma, heard it and reacted. This was a good sign.

Back in William's ward, Margaret was about to return to her own ward.

But William pulled her back.

"What's wrong?" Margaret asked, puzzled.

"Stay with me," William said slightly as he pulled Margaret back into his ward.

Facing William's burning gaze, Margaret had no choice but to agree.

Margaret sat at the bedside, taking out Pryce's medicine to change the dressing on her foot.

She needed to recover quickly so she could treat Bradley.

And she also needed to prepare scar removal ointment for William.

She absolutely wouldn't allow a single scar to remain on his body.

Margaret held the ointment, lowering her head to apply it, but the loose strands of hair kept falling, blocking her view. She tried to push them back several times, but they kept falling.

She looked up to find a hairpin, but didn't realize when William had sat beside her, taking the ointment from her hand, his eyes filled with tenderness.

"You helped me with my medicine earlier; now it's my turn to help you." Before Margaret could refuse, William directly took a cotton swab and started applying the ointment to her foot.

Originally, applying medicine to her foot was a burning pain, but for some reason, when William did it, it felt ticklish.

She couldn't feel the pain anymore, only the ticklish sensation spreading to her heart.

Margaret stretched out her foot, seeing how small it looked in William's large palm. He carefully held it, applying the medicine for her.

Soon, one foot was done, and William held her other foot. The face that was always cold to others was now extremely serious and gentle towards her.

He carefully treated her, his movements gentle, as if afraid of hurting her.

William's palm was so warm, Margaret felt her foot was burning in his hand, but she didn't want to pull it back.

She felt her face getting blusher, a fine layer of sweat forming on her forehead from the heat.

After William finally finished applying the medicine, Margaret quickly pulled her foot back.

The atmosphere in the air was too intimate.

William put down the things in his hand and looked up to see Margaret's flushed face.

"Are you hot?" He smiled, his deep eyes examining her.

Margaret quickly shook her head. "No, it's just that the ward feels a bit stuffy."

She averted her gaze, not wanting to look at him.

Margaret leaned back against the headboard, closing her eyes, pretending to rest.

But she suddenly smelled a faint scent of tobacco.

Margaret abruptly opened her eyes, seeing William's face magnified in front of her.

She stared at him with wide eyes. "Why are you so close to me?"

Margaret instinctively raised her hand to push him away, but William immediately grabbed her wrist.

"You are my fiancée. Why can't I close to you?"

Margaret felt puzzled. 'Isn't he disabled? Why is he still thinking about sex?'
