Chapter 366 Overestimating Oneself

Jhon returned to the booth couch with a displeased look on his face. Annie, perceptive as she was, tried to offer him an ice pack, but Jhon angrily pushed her away, shouting, "Get lost!"

Annie's smile froze for a moment, but she forced herself to swallow her anger and leaned in to Jhon's ear, saying, "Mr. Finley, you just want that woman from earlier, right? I know her well. I have a way to get you to sleep with her."

Jhon, still fuming, suddenly became interested upon hearing Annie's words. "Are you serious?"

"Of course." Annie nodded earnestly, a mysterious smile playing on her lips.

"What's your plan?" Jhon narrowed his eyes, his tone skeptical.

Annie leaned in closer to Jhon's ear and whispered, "Here's the deal, you..."

After a brief exchange of whispers, Jhon's face lit up with understanding, and he nodded repeatedly.

He reached out and pinched Annie's chin. "Baby, your idea is good."

Seeing this, Annie became even more determined. "Don't forget what you promised me. After this is done, the lead role in the next movie is mine."

"Don't worry, as long as I get her, everything will be fine." Jhon leered.

He couldn't wait to have sex with Margaret, to ravage her thoroughly.

"Deal." Annie lifted her head slightly, a sinister glint flashing in her eyes. 'Margaret, let me see how you escape my grasp this time!'

"Juniper, stop drinking, come home with me." The bar was crowded, and after much effort, Margaret finally found the drunken Juniper in a corner.

"No! I'm not going back. Let's drink more, Margaret, drink with me!" Juniper was completely out of it, her face flushed and reeking of alcohol.

Margaret shook her head helplessly, feeling sorry for Juniper.

She couldn't understand how Alden could be so heartless. Juniper loved him so much, gave him everything, and he just left without a word.

Alden really let Juniper down.

With Juniper so drunk, Margaret had no choice but to drape Juniper's arm over her shoulder and help her walk back slowly.

At that moment, William called Margaret. "Margaret, where are you?"

Margaret frowned and tried to answer loudly, "I'm at the bar, taking Juniper home. She's had a lot to drink. I'll talk to you when I get back."

After hanging up, Margaret put her phone in her pocket and kept an eye on Juniper to make sure she didn't bump into anything.

Just as she was about to reach the bar's entrance with Juniper, two man suddenly blocked her path.

They were Jhon and the bar owner.

Jhon, upon seeing Margaret, pointed at her excitedly and said to the owner, "It's her! I just bumped into her and wanted to buy her a drink, but she took the opportunity to steal my necklace! It's worth twenty million dollars. This happened in your bar, so you must take full responsibility!"

Annie, standing next to Jhon, nodded in agreement. "Yes, I saw it too. It's worth over twenty million dollars! If you let this woman go today, your bars have to cover the cost."

Jhon glared menacingly at Margaret and then pointed to theowner's phone. "Call the cop, arrest this woman, and make her compensate for my loss!"

Annie clicked her tongue and crossed her arms, looking at Margaret with a mocking expression. "Well, isn't this Margaret? You used to be so high and mighty! Now, without the Fisher Group to back you up, you have to resort to stealing in bars? Well, twenty million dollars isn't a small amount. I guess with that necklace, you could live it up for a while."

Margaret squinted at Annie, amused. 'This woman, after all this time, is still as fool as ever.'

She said coldly, "Aren't you here serving drinks? Why are you meddling in my business?"

"You!" Annie's face turned blush with anger, and she glared at Margaret before turning her head away and urging the bar owner. "You have heard what Mr. Finley said. A twenty million dollar necklace is enough to keep her in jail for ten years. Aren't you going to call the cop? Or do you want your bar to go out of business?"

Margaret frowned at Jhon and Annie, seeing them as fools.

She placed Juniper on a high stool, took off her necklace, and showed it to the three of them. "This necklace is worth a hundred million dollars. A mere twenty million dollar necklace doesn't interest me."

Annie looked down and saw the necklace in Margaret's hand, shining brilliantly and clearly very valuable.

Annie and Jhon's faces turned sour. They exchanged glances before Annie spoke up. "Who knows if your necklace is real? Just because you say it's worth a hundred million doesn't make it so. And just because you wear an expensive necklace doesn't mean you wouldn't steal another. Who can vouch for you?"

"Right, if you claim you didn't steal the necklace, then open your bag and let us check!" Jhon's face was blush with anger.

"Fine." Margaret shrugged indifferently and opened her bag, showing it to them openly.

Inside, there was only a pair of earrings and a pack of tissues.

Margaret smiled mockingly. "See? Clear enough?"

"This..." Annie's face turned pale, filled with disbelief.

She thought to herself, 'How could this be? I have just put the necklace in Margaret's bag. How could it not be there?'

Margaret noticed Annie's expression and found it amusing. She deliberately said, "You all saw it. There's nothing in my bag. Maybe you're the one stealing the necklace. If you don't mind..."

She looked at Annie. "Why not check this lady's bag? Maybe the necklace is there."

"Impossible! There's no way the necklace is in my bag!" Annie argued, trying to prove her innocence, and quickly opened her bag, only to find the ruby necklace inside.

"Impossible! It really wasn't me" Annie cried out.

She had clearly put the necklace in Margaret's bag. How did it end up in her own?

"Alright, now the truth is out. It's clear who the real thief is." Margaret smirked coldly. 'A fool like Annie is trying to frame me. She's really laughable.'
