Chapter 372 Pursuing Juniper

"Are you sure?" Lucy looked at Grace with suspicion.

Seeing Grace nod seriously, Lucy nodded in satisfaction. After all, Grace had always been the one by her side offering advice.

"Alright, I'll wait for your news," Lucy said.

In the evening, Margaret rushed to the hospital to visit Alden. Juniper was also about to leave and was visibly startled when she saw Margaret enter.

"Juniper," Margaret greeted her and then looked down at Alden, asking, "Alden, how's your leg? Is it feeling any better?"

Unexpectedly, Alden acted as if he hadn't heard her, just turning his head to look out the window. Even Juniper stood by the window, silent and downcast.

Margaret keenly sensed something was wrong and looked at Juniper. "What's going on? Did something happen between you two?"

Hearing this, Juniper finally lifted her head, forcing a smile at Margaret and tugging at her sleeve. "It's nothing. Let's talk outside so we don't disturb Alden's rest."

Margaret could tell her smile was forced. But she said nothing, following Juniper out of the hospital.

Seeing Juniper still looking despondent, Margaret couldn't help but caught up and grabbed her. "Juniper, you and Alden were acting strange in the ward. What's going on?"

"I've decided to break up with Alden, to let him go." Seeing Margaret's concerned expression, Juniper finally couldn't hold back, her voice even tinged with sobs.

"Why?" Margaret was very surprised.

Anyone could see Juniper's feelings for Alden. Otherwise, she wouldn't have insisted on finding him during the earthquake in the disaster area. How could she suddenly agree to break up?

"Haven't you always been against breaking up with Alden? Why the sudden change?"

Juniper shook her head, sniffled, and tried to control her emotions. She looked up at Margaret and told her everything about drinking with Samuel at the bar and their one-night stand at the hotel.

"What?! You and Samuel..." Margaret was shocked after hearing the whole story.

She never expected such a bizarre, soap-opera-like scenario to happen to Juniper.

"I don't know how it happened either." Juniper's eyes were red as she shook her head.

Seeing Juniper like this, Margaret worriedly asked, "What do you think? This was just an accident."

"No." Juniper shook her head. She was a very traditional girl, and she didn't know how to tell Alden about what had happened.

Alden probably wouldn't accept her like this either.

"Margaret, I love Alden very much. He's the only one in my heart, but I've already had sex with Samuel. I don't even know how to tell Alden about this; he definitely won't accept it. So, I'll respect his feelings and break up with him. As long as he can recover, I won't see him again. Then I'll go back to Fleurancia and start over. As for everything here..." She lowered her head and gave a self-mocking smile. "I'll treat it all as a dream and forget it."

Margaret was very moved. She knew Juniper must be feeling terrible right now. She patted Juniper's shoulder and said firmly, "Juniper, no matter what happens, no matter what decision you make, I support you."

Juniper nodded, forcing a smile. "Alright, with your words, I feel much better. I'm going back now. You should go back soon too."

Margaret frowned, watching Juniper's seemingly carefree back as she turned to leave. The words she wanted to say remained unspoken, because she knew Juniper must be feeling really sad.

Samuel looked at his phone, which still showed "unreachable," and frowned deeply.

A whole day and night had passed, and Juniper still hadn't answered his calls. It was either unreachable or no one answered when it did go through.

Even when he went to the hotel to find her, Juniper avoided him.

The more Samuel thought about it, the worse he felt. He wanted to talk to Juniper but had no way to reach her.

After some thought, Samuel decided to ask Margaret for help, thinking Margaret and Juniper were good friends, so she should know where Juniper was.

Ten minutes later, Samuel knocked on Margaret's door.

"Who is it?" Margaret's voice came from inside. But when she opened the door and saw Samuel standing there, her smile instantly disappeared. She turned around and said coldly, "What are you doing here?"

Samuel anxiously squeezed into the room, looking at Margaret with urgency and sincerity. "Ms. Scott, do you know where Juniper is? She hasn't been answering my calls. I want to talk to her, but I can't reach her."

Margaret frowned and questioned, "Talk? How do you expect Juniper to talk to you? Samuel, you're an adult, even an artist. How can you not know what you should be doing? Yes, Juniper was drunk that night, but you still chose to play along with her at the bar? And even..."

Margaret found it hard to continue.

After a pause, she said, "You know Juniper loves Alden the most. How could you do such a thing? Now Juniper feels guilty towards Alden. She's very troubled and has no mood to see you. I suggest you don't look for her right now!"

Samuel stood there, stunned, his words stammering. "Ms. Scott, you know about me and Juniper?"

Margaret gradually calmed down. She frowned tightly. "How could I not know about such a big thing? Juniper is very upset right now. Don't disturb her."

"Ms. Scott." Samuel lowered his eyes, as if summoning all his courage, and looked up at Margaret. "I've always liked Juniper. I want her to be my girlfriend. Meeting her at the bar that night was an accident. I saw how upset she was and thought I'd have a few more drinks with her. I didn't expect to do something I shouldn't have after getting drunk."

The more Samuel spoke, the more regretful he felt, and he felt sorry for Juniper. He hadn't expected things to turn out this way, but it was too late to change anything.

The person he wanted to see most now was Juniper, and only Margaret could help him.

"Ms. Scott, I know it was my fault. I shouldn't have acted on impulse, but I've made up my mind. I want to take responsibility and pursue Juniper, to make her my girlfriend. Please help me!" Samuel said sincerely.

"Are you serious?" Margaret pressed her lips together and asked.
