Chapter 429 Rest Assured, It's Okay
Juniper lowered her head, avoiding their gaze, and said wearily, "I'm worried about Samuel, so..."
Dione ignored her and walked straight to Samuel's bedside, looking at him with concern and touching his forehead.
Thinking about her lively son now lying in this state because of Juniper made her furious.
"Samuel's like this now, are you happy?"
"Mrs. Hall, no, I'm not. Samuel's accident, I..." Juniper felt deeply distressed.
She didn't want anything to happen to Samuel. His car accident hurt her more than anyone else.
"If it weren't for you, would he have had the accident? And you say you didn't cause it?! The facts are right here, and you still have the nerve to argue? Get out! I don't want to see you."
Juniper's eyes welled up with tears. "Mrs. Hall, I want to stay with Samuel. I want him to see me when he wakes up and feel reassured."
After all, Samuel had the accident because he was rushing to stop her from terminating the pregnancy. She wanted Samuel to wake up and know the baby was fine, to give him peace of mind.
But to Dione, these words were incredibly grating. "You troublemaker! You want him to wake up and get angry at you again? Get out!"
"I said get out, didn't you hear me?!"
Dione's imposing manner left Juniper feeling too ashamed to stay.
Margaret held Juniper's arm, clearly feeling her trembling. Whether it was from fear of Dione or guilt over Samuel's condition, Juniper was visibly shaken.
"Juniper, don't you understand? Get out! Stay away from Samuel."
Dione's aggressive stance was overwhelming. Margaret wanted to speak up for Juniper but was stopped by Juniper, who signaled her not to.
After all, Dione was Samuel's mother, and Juniper didn't want to strain their relationship too much.
Dane, who had been watching silently, finally spoke up.
"Juniper, you have a child to think about. You've been here for days and must be exhausted. Go rest and come back tomorrow morning."
Dione was displeased with this. "How can you let her come back?"
"Alright, she is carrying our family's child," Dane sighed.
Juniper nodded, grateful for the permission to return. "Mr. Hall, Mrs. Hall, please take care of Samuel."
The two left the hospital room.
"Margaret, do you have any heat patches?"
"No, why?"
"I might have caught a chill. My stomach feels uncomfortable," Juniper's face looked even paler.
Margaret instinctively glanced at Juniper's stomach, noticing her hand had been resting there.
Margaret reached out to support Juniper. "I don't have any, but the supermarket outside the hospital should. I'll go buy some. You need to be more careful, you're carrying a baby."
Margaret bought a heat patch and a cup of hot milk tea for Juniper.
Juniper's hotel was close to the hospital, and they arrived quickly.
In just those few minutes, Juniper's face had turned pale.
Juniper turned to Margaret, "Are we there yet? I'm feeling really carsick today."
Margaret looked at her with concern and touched her forehead. "You sure you're okay? You don't look so good."
Juniper got out of the car, saying, "Yeah, just carsick. I skipped breakfast."
When they reached the room, Juniper's forehead was sweating, alarming Margaret.
"Juniper, what's going on? Let me check."
Margaret grabbed her wrist to diagnose her.
Juniper pushed her away and rushed to the bathroom.
She closed the door, leaving Margaret worried outside.
"Juniper, what's wrong?"
"Juniper?"
Juniper's voice came from inside, "I'm fine, just need to use the bathroom."
The bathroom?!
Margaret felt a sense of foreboding.
Soon, Juniper's tearful voice came through.
"Margaret, I'm bleeding."
What?
Margaret burst in, seeing the red stain on Juniper's pants. She grabbed Juniper's wrist to diagnose her.
Juniper's body trembled uncontrollably. "Margaret, my stomach hurts."
It turned out Juniper's stomach pain in the hospital was due to issues with the baby, not Dione's harsh words.
Margaret frowned, "The baby is still safe, don't worry. Bleeding during pregnancy isn't uncommon as long as it's not too much. But your stress has affected the baby. You need to relax. I'll call an ambulance. You should have told me about the pain earlier. It's different from a chill."
Juniper's face was pale. "At the hospital, it didn't hurt this much. Margaret, will the baby..."
"Stop talking. The baby is fine. You need to rest."
Margaret took out her phone to call for help.
Juniper grabbed her hand, shaking her head. "No."
"Do you not want the baby?" Margaret was anxious.
"No, take me to the hospital. Not the same one as Samuel. If you call an ambulance, it'll take me to the nearest hospital, where Samuel is. I don't want his parents to misunderstand that I'm trying to terminate the pregnancy."
Margaret reassured her, "It's okay, you'll be in the maternity ward, not the same department. They won't see you."
"Margaret, please."
"Alright, I'll take you."
Margaret reluctantly agreed, helping Juniper get dressed and then heading out.
She kicked the door shut in frustration.
She was worried because Juniper's pregnancy was unstable. Her comforting words were just to keep Juniper calm.
Margaret knew the situation was serious, which is why she wanted to call an ambulance.
Margaret helped Juniper into the car, and as they left the hotel, she glanced at Juniper in the rearview mirror.
Juniper was lying on the back seat, not looking ahead.
Margaret drove towards the hospital where Samuel was, the closest one.
Juniper wasn't paying attention, so she wouldn't notice.
"Margaret, I feel more blood coming out. My baby."
"Don't worry, the bleeding is like a small cut. It's normal, the baby is fine."
"We're almost at the hospital, it'll be okay."
Margaret's words were meant to reassure, but her grip on the steering wheel tightened, knowing Juniper's true condition.
