Chapter 375 The Plan is Exposed
After hanging up, Anthony began to busy himself, his slender fingers tapping and dancing across the keyboard.
When he saw the long string of code and red warning signs on the Starlight Entertainment intranet page, he frowned, casually clicking on a few video and data pages, only to see black screens and even mischievous faces.
"How provocative," he thought.
Anthony entered a string of code and traced the virus' source code. For an ordinary hacker, it might take some time to decipher, but unfortunately for the other party, they were up against a highly skilled hacker who still fell into his hands.
About twenty minutes later, Anthony called Margaret. "Ada, I found out that the hacker who infiltrated your company's intranet is named L. This guy is quite skilled. I checked his background; he won an international competition three years ago."
"Okay, I got it. Thank you. Get some rest." Margaret listened to the voice on the phone, her eyes fixed on the code on the screen, a smile appearing on her face.
After hanging up, Margaret flexed her wrist and began rapidly typing on the keyboard, her fingers flying over the keys. It didn't take long for her to completely crack the virus code in the system.
Seeing the restored pages and video data, Margaret smiled with satisfaction. However, she didn't stop there; she entered another specific string of code to hack into the other party's computer.
It had to be said, L's computer defense system was very tight, but still fell short compared to hers.
Twenty minutes later, Margaret let out a sigh of relief. She had just completely hacked L's computer system, and now he probably couldn't even use it normally.
She called Anthony again and reported a string of numbers, "Anthony, I just found L's phone number and address. Go find him now and bring him to me. I want to collaborate with him."
Margaret glanced at the clock on the wall. It was now 8:30 PM, and there was still plenty of time.
About an hour and a half later, Anthony appeared at Margaret's house, accompanied by a young man. The young man looked at Margaret, seemingly in disbelief, but his eyes also sparkled with excitement.
He thought, 'So, this is the woman who hacked my meticulously planned program code and my computer."
Margaret walked over gracefully, extended her hand, and nodded politely. "Hello, I apologize for crashing your computer system earlier."
The young man extended his hand without any resistance, his face full of admiration. "I'm L. I have knew what you want. I agree to collaborate with you. But I'm still curious about one thing. My program was designed to be nearly perfect. How did you crack it so quickly and hack my computer?"
Margaret smiled. "I'll tell you once we finish this task."
L paused, then shrugged understandingly and called Grace, tightening the micro voice changer on his collar. "Hello? I finished what you asked. Their company's intranet was a piece of cake. Make sure to transfer the remaining money to my account."
Margaret and Anthony exchanged a knowing smile.
The next morning at 9 AM, at the opening ceremony, the venue was surrounded by media reporters and entertainment editors from various platforms. Even before the main cast had officially appeared, the sound of camera shutters was already incessant.
Unsurprisingly, Lucy and Grace were also present.
Lucy stood in the crowd, looking smugly at the host preparing in the center of the venue. Her gaze fell on the large projector, and a confident smile appeared on her face.
"Lucy, just watch. Yesterday, L told me he had everything ready. Margaret will definitely be humiliated on the spot!" Grace stood beside her, speaking flatteringly.
The opening ceremony soon officially began. From the host's opening remarks, the main cast members took the stage one after another, and Margaret and Lyle both gave speeches. Until the end of the ceremony, the projector responsible for playing the video data showed no abnormalities, and nothing detrimental to Margaret was displayed.
The smile on Lucy's face slowly disappeared. She coldly watched Margaret being interviewed on stage, her fingers unconsciously tightening around her handbag.
Grace also frowned, thinking Ling had clearly told her everything was ready.
Lucy gritted her teeth, her previously beautiful face now looking sinister. She couldn't hold back any longer and turned to scold Grace in a low voice, "What's going on? Didn't you say the person you hired had everything ready? The ceremony is successful over.How could you mess this up!"
Grace was equally puzzled. Seeing Lucy like this, she quickly explained, "Lucy, I don't know what happened. Last night, L clearly told me everything was ready and that Starlight Entertainment's intranet was a piece of cake."
"What are you two discussing?" Margaret's voice came from behind Lucy.
Lucy turned around in surprise, and Grace instantly fell silent, only to see two police officers standing behind Margaret, with L beside her. L tilted his head and smiled when he saw Grace.
"Margaret?" Lucy frowned, asking with annoyance. But when she saw the police officers behind her, her expression changed instantly. "What are you doing?"
"Shouldn't I be asking you that?" Margaret still smiled politely but distantly. As soon as she finished speaking, the smile disappeared from her face.
She stepped aside and said to the police officers behind her. "Here she is!"
Margaret's hand pointed past Lucy to Grace. "She attempted to infiltrate our Starlight Entertainment's intranet to steal important company data. Legally, this constitutes a commercial crime. As for the person she hired."
Margaret looked at L. "He's right here. He's a witness."
Grace looked at L in disbelief.
Lucy was shocked but secretly relieved when she saw that Margaret was pointing at Grace.
Grace, however, was stunned and quickly retorted, "What evidence do you have to prove I was trying to steal your company's secrets? Margaret, don't slander me, or I'll sue you for defamation!"
L chuckled, stepped forward, and played a recording on his phone. It was the conversation from yesterday where Grace asked him to infiltrate Starlight Entertainment's intranet. "You say she's lying, so is this recording fake too? Sorry, but no one is above the law."
The police officers, hearing the recording, also looked serious. They approached Grace and handcuffed her. "Sorry, but you'll have to come with us."
