Chapter 173 The Hypocritical Angel
Margaret tried to break free, but his grip was like a vice. William's hold was so tight, it felt like he was gonna snap her wrists.
His tongue forced its way into her mouth, exploring every inch.
At first, William just wanted to punish the heartless woman in front of him, but her taste brought back the memory of their sweet time together. As always, it made him lose control.
He remember when they were floating in the air, she clung to him, speaking firmly. "William, I'm giving you my answer now. Yes, I agree. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, no matter what."
Did she forget all those things she said to him that day?
As these scenes kept playing in his head, William's kiss softened without him realizing it. In a daze, he felt like they were still in love, like she had never left.
Their breaths mingled, and the office got hotter. After what felt like forever, William finally pulled back, his voice rough. "Margaret."
Before he could say more, a sudden female voice cut in, "William, what are you doing?"
William turned around to see Angel standing there. He raised an eyebrow, surprised. "Marjorie? What are you doing here?"
Margaret's heart skipped a beat. She shoved William away, her chest heaving. "William, that's enough!"
What did he take her for? He already had Marjorie, yet he treated her like this. Was he trying to humiliate her?
Angel's eyes showed a hint of hurt as she looked at the scene in disbelief. She felt a sense of crisis, but she hid her emotions well, biting her lip and weakly saying, "William, I'm sorry, I forgot to knock. Did I interrupt you?"
William let go of Margaret, slowly fixing his shirt that had gotten messed up during the kiss, and said calmly, "No. Why are you here?"
"William, I came to thank you." Angel glanced at Margaret, whose face was slightly flushed, suppressing her jealousy and pretending not to care, smiling at William.
"Hmm?" William smiled slightly.
Angel took a step forward, affectionately holding William's arm. "Thank you for transferring my grandmother to the best hospital and getting the best doctors to treat her. She's much better now. She even asked me to find out when you're free so she can thank you in person once she's recovered."
William smiled slightly, saying indifferently, "It was nothing."
Seeing the scene in front of her, Margaret took a few deep breaths to calm herself, a cold smile appearing on her lips as she turned to leave.
"Margaret!" William pushed Angel away, wanting to catch up.
Angel quickly grabbed William again, lowering her eyes and looking all pitiful. "William, is Ms. Scott mad? I'm sorry, I didn't know she was here. Should I go apologize and explain to her?"
William frowned, but before he could say anything, Angel had already taken off after Margaret.
Margaret took the elevator to the first floor and was about to walk out the door when a cold female voice suddenly called out from behind, "Margaret!"
Margaret paused and turned around. It was Angel, who had just been in the CEO's office.
"What do you want?" Margaret asked, her face blank.
Angel, strutting in her high heels, walked up to Margaret, giving her the once-over.
Yeah, she was beautiful, elegant, and refined. No wonder she had William wrapped around her finger. But Angel thought, 'So what? As long as I'm around, no one can take William away!'
Hiding the jealousy in her eyes, Angel curved her lips into a smug smile. "Margaret, you know what my relationship with William is, right?"
Margaret gave a cold smile. "What relationship you have with him, does it have anything to do with me?"
Margaret's indifferent attitude threw Angel off. It made her really unhappy.
Her eyes shifted, and Angel spoke again, "Margaret, don't think I don't know you went to see William today to seduce him. I'm warning you, stay away from William! He's in love with me! You should know, all these years, William has been looking for me. Because all these years, the only woman he loves is me. Otherwise, William wouldn't have been with me on the day of your engagement, nor would he have gotten the best doctors to treat my grandmother. I'm the one he truly loves. He told me himself that he wants to marry me."
"Really?" Margaret said.
Although Margaret appeared indifferent, her heart was in immense pain.
"Of course!" Seeing the tall figure walking towards them from the corner of her eye, Angel smiled slightly, and she moved closer to Margaret.
She was almost touching Margaret, speaking in a voice only the two of them could hear, "Let me tell you something else, William said you shamelessly seduced him, clinging to him, and that you make him feel disgusted!"
Margaret's face turned cold. Whether William had said that, she didn't know, but at this moment, Angel truly disgusted her.
"Stay away from me!" Seeing Angel constantly moving closer, Margaret reached out to push her away.
"Ah!" Before Margaret could touch her, Angel let out an exaggerated scream, falling straight to the ground, crying out in pain, "Ms. Scott, why did you push me?"
William took the elevator downstairs and saw this scene.
"Marjorie, are you okay?" William quickly stepped forward, reaching out to support Angel.
Angel leaned into William's arms, her eyes reddening, crying pitifully. "William, I'm sorry, no matter how much I apologized to Ms. Scott, she wouldn't forgive me. It's my fault, I'm useless."
