Chapter 381 We're Together
After Juniper finished speaking, she ignored Samuel, left the airport directly, and waved to hail a cab.
Samuel watched Juniper's back, a flash of disappointment in his eyes.
Juniper was also very nervous in the car. When she finally got home, she almost ran inside. As soon as she entered the hallway, she shouted, "Mom, how are you? Do you need to go to the hospital?"
She spoke while quickly walking into the living room, only to see her parents sitting on the couch, both with very serious expressions. When her mother saw Juniper return, she turned her face away.
Juniper was stunned for a moment, taking a while to gather her thoughts. "Dad. Mom, weren't you sick?"
Ramon Hayes finally looked up and sighed heavily, "If we didn't tell you your mom was sick, you would probably still be in Ravenford, staying with Alden!"
Juniper's eyes widened, and she suddenly understood everything, standing still for a long time.
After a while, she moved her lips and awkwardly uttered a word. "Mom."
Madeline Hayes looked up at Juniper standing at the door. During the time they hadn't seen Juniper, she had lost a lot of weight and looked much more haggard than when she was at home.
"Juniper," Madeline called her, waving her over to sit beside her. "This time, you and Margaret went to the earthquake disaster area to rescue people, and we didn't even know. What if something happened to you because of Alden? What would we do? You should also consider our feelings."
"Juniper, are you with Alden again? Do you know how worried we were when we found out you went to the disaster area to save him?" In contrast, Ramon didn't have a pleasant expression. He loved Juniper very much, so of course, he was angry.
Ramon had taken such good care of Juniper, not for her to suffer with a poor boy.
"Juniper, you need to understand, we raised you not for you to suffer with Alden. He has nothing now and can't provide you with a secure life. You'll understand in the future that sometimes only with mutual affection isn't enough to make it to the end," Madeline covered Juniper's hand, speaking earnestly.
Juniper didn't expect her parents to react this way. Her eyes reddened with anxiety, but she had no desire to cry. She hurriedly explained, "Mom, Dad, why are you doing this? Actually, I have already broken up with Alden."
Hearing that, Ramon and Madeline exchanged a glance, but it was clear from their expressions that they didn't believe her.
Juniper had gone to the disaster area for Alden, and now her parents couldn'tbelieve she broke up with him just like that.
"No way." Ramon shook his head. "Juniper, you never acted like this before. This time, we called you back to make sure you stay home for a while and don't go anywhere."
"No way!" Juniper was very surprised to hear this and stood up instinctively, her attitude more intense than ever before.
At least more intense than when she was around her parents before.
"You!" Ramon was about to lose his temper when there was a knock on the door.
As the father and daughter faced off, Madeline worriedly glanced at them and went to open the door, only to find Samuel standing outside.
When Samuel saw Madeline, he nodded politely and said, "Hello, Mrs. Hayes. I'm here to see Juniper. Is she home?"
Juniper turned instinctively at the familiar voice and saw Samuel walking in.
She frowned and was about to speak when Samuel walked up to her, placing a hand on her shoulder but quickly letting go, showing a polite and humble smile. He nodded to Ramon and said, "Mr. Hayes."
Ramon and Madeline knew Samuel was a popular star. Seeing him at their home and so familiar with Juniper, they couldn't help but be surprised and a bit skeptical.
Ramon paused before speaking in confusion, "I know you, you're Samuel. Do you know Juniper?"
Samuel glanced at Juniper, a smile naturally appearing on his face. He nodded emphatically and then took Juniper's hand. "Actually, I've been seeing Juniper for a while now. She just agreed to be my girlfriend. She told me her mom was sick and needed to come back. I wanted to come with her, but she wouldn't let me, so I followed her secretly."
As he said this, Samuel smiled sheepishly.
Juniper was still processing everything. When she felt Samuel holding her hand, she instinctively tried to pull away. Hearing his words, she looked even more surprised.
But with her parents present, she couldn't refuse. She could only suppress her emotions, looking at Samuel with a mix of anger and confusion, her hand struggling again.
Madeline, however, was already looking at Samuel with satisfaction. She often saw him on TV. He was handsome, a star, and performed well on stage. If he was Juniper's boyfriend, how proud she would be in front of the neighbors.
Ramon, however, was still skeptical. His eyes moved back and forth between the two, finally resting on Juniper. Juniper, why have we never heard you mention dating him? Are you two trying to trick us?"
Juniper didn't want to involve Samuel, especially since she had already clearly rejected him.
She was about to deny it when Samuel leaned in and whispered, "Juniper, I'm doing this for your sake. If I pretend to be your boyfriend, your parents won't keep you here. You don't want to be stuck here and not go back to Ravenford, do you?"
His words hit Juniper's heart.
Juniper turned to look at Samuel in shock. Seeing his determined gaze, she had no choice but to give in. Facing Ramon's questioning, she nodded honestly. "Yes, we just got together recently. I thought it was a big deal, so I didn't tell you. After all, Samuel is a celebrity. Mom, Dad, you won't blame me, right?"
After saying this, she sighed silently, her hand unconsciously clutching her clothes.
She didn't want to be confined at home, nor did she want to be unable to see Alden. She really missed him.
Seeing Juniper admit it, Ramon finally let go of his doubts, nodding and feeling relieved. "If you two are together, then I'm relieved. But Juniper, you should tell us about such big things. Don't make us worry about you."
"
Madeline was finally at ease. She now looked at Samuel with the satisfaction , finding him more pleasing the more she looked.
