Chapter 105 Your husband turns out to be him
Susanna pondered, 'Is it this weekend that Aaron is going to get engaged to Erica?'
Although Susanna had known about this for a long time, hearing Elaine say it in person still made her feel a bit depressed and sad.
Flandre snorted, "Then let's wish the scumbag and the bitch well, wish them a long-lasting relationship. Besides, Susanna's family will receive compensation from the government quite soon, then she will marry a man with better conditions."
Elaine laughed, "It's just government compensation, how good can the conditions be?"
Susanna directly pulled Flandre away to prevent the irritable Flandre from hitting them. Elaine is the Miss of the Abbott family, the one they can't afford to provoke.
Meanwhile, Elaine watched Susanna's leaving and immediately called Allison. "Hey, I heard that Susanna's family is going to receive compensation from the government. Can you investigate it?"
"Okay."
After hanging up, Allison felt very unfair deep down. Why does Susanna have such good luck to receive compensation from the government?
That was really unfair.
In the meantime, Flandre left that floor with Susanna, still feeling somewhat puzzled, "Susanna, what are you afraid of? Let me tear that bitch's mouth apart. That bitch will just envy you with government’s compensation, being rich."
Susanna sighed, "Flandre, she's not envious, she's mocking me."
"Wait, was your ex-husband so rich before?" Flandre surprised.
Susanna fell silent for a moment and pointed to the billboard in front of her. "He is the CEO of this group."
Flandre shouted, "What? Your husband is from the Abbott's Group."
Flandre covered her mouth, looking shocked and incredulous, "Susanna, you've been hiding this from me all along."
"I signed a prenuptial agreement and can't reveal my relationship with Aaron to anyone. Besides, I've always felt inferior, so I haven't told anyone about this. It's a good thing I didn't say anything, or else now that I've been kicked out, everyone would definitely mock me for overestimating myself." Susanna replied calmly.
It took a while for Flandre to accept this fact, could only sighing, "It's better to divorce, so you won't be wronged in the Abbott family. I think Dick is good, who is good-looking and capable. The compatibility of social status and background makes a lasting relationship."
"You're right, a match made in heaven is the way to go."
Susanna's eyes flashed with a hint of sarcasm."Flandre, Sorry for ruining your mood."
"Not a big deal! Besides, Susanna, you're so famous now. You're going to be successful in the future, no less than any aristocratic family. We can become an aristocratic family ourselves!"
After saying goodbye with Flandre, Susanna went straight home.
The matter of government compensation was now being handled by Edward. Grace and Andrew didn't dare to cause trouble.
Susanna also sighed in relief. After class, she went straight to the studio, where a colleague approached her. "Susanna, do you have any plans for this weekend, the day after tomorrow?"
Tomorrow is the weekend.
Susanna snapped back. "I have nothing planned."
"Susanna, I have some family matters this weekend and need to take a day off. Can you cover for me?"
"Sure, no problem." Susanna said.
Susanna usually works at the studio on weekends along with colleagues. She agreed to cover for the colleague since she had often worked overtime on weekends for her others.
In the afternoon, Dick ordered a lot of coffee. "We've just landed a big project at the studio, so coffee in on me."
A colleague spoke up, "Doesn't that mean we'll have to work overtime this weekend?"
"Correct. Everyone's been working hard for a few days, and we can take a few extra days off later."
Dick handed a cup of coffee to Susanna. "You'll be working overtime this weekend."
Susanna agreed. "Okay, I have nothing else to do this weekend, it would be foolish not to make money when there's an opportunity."
Susanna glanced at the coffee, replying, "Sorry, I'm not a coffee buff."
She tried to avoid it mainly because she was worried about what might be in the coffee. Many of her tastes had changed since she was pregnant.
"You don't like coffee? I remember you used to love this brand of coffee back in college."
Colleagues around them started teasing, "Wow, Susanna, Dick remembers what you used to like."
"Susanna, do you see how young and handsome Dick is, and how caring he is?"
Susanna smiled somewhat helplessly as her colleagues continued to tease her, not knowing how to respond.
Seeing Susanna feeling uncomfortable, Dick quickly signaled to the colleagues. "Alright, you guys are going too far. I'm just a boss caring for a subordinate, after all, Susanna is the face of our studio."
Upon hearing Dick's words, Susanna finally relaxed. She really didn't know how to handle the situation just now.
After the colleagues dispersed, Dick whispered, "Susanna, you don't have to feel so pressured. Whether I like you or not is my own business, you don't have to think too much about it."
Susanna looked up after reflecting. "Actually, I..."
"Alright, you don't have to say much, just focus on your work. I only trust you to handle this project." Dick interrupted.
Susanna required. "Is it the villa design?"
"No, it's the decoration layout for a wedding venue. The client has high demands, not only for the wedding venue but also for the decoration, so they want us to go there and coordinate."
'A wedding venue?' A thought in Susanna.
For some reason, Susanna thought of Erica and Aaron's engagement, she suppressed her thoughts and said, "I don't think our studio has taken on this kind of work before, after all, we specialize in interior design, not wedding planning."
"I know, but the situation is special, we not only have to take on this project, but also to do it well. It will be beneficial for the future development of our studio. Susanna, can you help out?" Dick answered.
Since the conversation had reached this point, Susanna couldn't refuse. "Alright, but pay me a higher commission, I have a lot of monthly mortgage payments to make."
Dick laughed. "Don't worry, I won't let you lose out."
Dick turned back to his office and made a phone call, sounding conciliatory. "Hey, Ms. Jones, I've discussed it with the team here, and there's no problem."
Erica uttered with fake surprise. "Really? That's great, I've heard of Master Susan from your studio before, it won’t let me down if she's involved in designing the wedding venue."
"Ms. Jones, rest assured, our team is excellent, willing to take challenges. Feel free to let us know if you have any dissatisfaction later, we can make changes anytime."
Erica's smile deepened. "Thank you."
"With pleasure, it's an honor for our small studio that you think highly of us. "Dick replied.
" You are very good at this, but my engagement with my fiancé is kept confidential throughout. I also hope that you won't reveal who the hosts of the engagement banquet are before the engagement, Dick," Said Erica.
"Ms. Jones, rest assured, only I know about this at the moment, and I will definitely keep it confidential for you."
Erica had been in a good mood after finished the call.
She was looking forward to the moment when Susanna would see her and Aaron at the engagement banquet, what expression would she have?
