Chapter 94 Villains to torment villains
Susanna was surprised when she saw Aaron's call. She thought she must have seen it wrong.
He actually called her, was it a mistake?
The phone rang several times without being hung up, so she answered tentatively, "Aaron, what's up?"
"Your foster parents found the villa here again and asked me for money." Aaron replied nonchalantly.
When Susanna heard this, she felt embarrassed and quickly said, "Kick them out and don't give them a penny."
Aaron replied, "You deal with this yourself, I'm busy."
The call was hung up.
Susanna quickly packed her things, took a taxi to the former marital villa that she shared with Aaron.
When she stood outside, she hesitated for a moment, as she hadn't been back much since she moved out. After a pause, she stepped into the hall.
She rang the doorbell at the entrance, and before entering, she heard intense arguing inside.
It seemed like besides Grace and Andrew's voices, there was Maud's voice too.
Suddenly Susanna felt troubled, why was Maud here too?
She wanted to turn around and leave, but the next second Brenda opened the door, saw her, and said happily, "Susanna, you're finally back, come in quickly."
Susanna walked in with a stiff face and whispered, "Why is Maud here?"
"I'm not quite sure, but the situation is complicated now." Brenda said.
Susanna also knew the situation was complicated. If Brenda hadn't opened the door in time just now, she would have left already.
As she entered the hall, the people arguing there all turned to look at her.
Grace immediately said, "Susanna, you're finally back. Tell Maud, is this house under your control? Last time Aaron himself admitted that you handle this house's finances, but Maud doesn't acknowledge it."
Maud was very angry, her fingers trembling. "Susanna, tell me, who is in charge of this family? How could my son's money all be under your control!"
Originally, Maud had come happily to rearrange the house for Aaron, wanting him to move into a new house when he got engaged again, but she didn't expect to run into Susanna's foster parents at that moment.
Susanna sighed inwardly. She looked at Grace and said coldly. "There's something I haven't told you yet. In fact, Aaron and I are already divorced."
"What?" Grace was shocked. "Susanna, why didn't you tell us about such a big thing? Aaron is so wealthy, how could you bear to divorce him? How could you do such a foolish thing?"
Next to her, Maud laughed and said, "Susanna is not good enough for my son at all. She even has foster parents like yours who are so shameful. It's a good thing they divorced, otherwise it would have been a disgrace to our family if it got out."
Ignoring Maud's harsh words, Susanna turned to Grace. "Did you hear that? I was despised and kicked out of the house by them. I haven't lived here for a long time. Don't come here to disturb them in the future."
Grace hesitated. "Even in a divorce, wealthy families will surely give you a substantial amount of money. Take out to me!"
Her foster father nodded. "That's how it's done in TV dramas. You must have had post-marriage assets, Susanna. Give us the money and we'll leave."
Susanna explained, "I'm sorry, I left with nothing. I didn't take a penny. Because I was able to marry into this family in the first place by being shameless, and I even signed a prenuptial agreement that I won't get a penny after the divorce. Don't fantasize about getting money from me anymore!"
Susanna's tone was cold and sharp, leaving Grace and Andrew at a loss for words.
Maud interjected. "It's just three thousand dollars. I can give it to you, but you're not allowed to disturb Aaron's life anymore. He's about to get married soon, marrying into a wealthy family! It's a match made in heaven!"
Maud wrote a 3,000 dollars check and threw it on the ground.
Grace quickly picked it up, trying to please. "You're so generous. You're right, Susanna is just a civilian, and she's not filial. It's good that she and Aaron are divorced."
Maud's lips curled slightly, a hint of mockery in her eyes. "Take the money and leave."
Grace hurriedly hid the money, afraid of being robbed, then turned and left in a hurry, ignoring Susanna beside her.
Susanna took a deep breath. "I will repay you this $3,000."
She had no intention of giving money to Grace and Andrew, nor did she expect Maud to give her the money.
Maud replied condescendingly, "No need, this amount is just pocket change for me, it's nothing. It's worth it to get rid of this big trouble. You don't need to repay it, after all, your salary is meager. Please take care of your family and don't disturb our lives again. We are not of the same world."
Susanna transferred the $3,000 to Aaron.
She looked at Maud in front of her. "I've transferred the money to Aaron. Rest assured, I won't come back."
Maud interrupted, "Wait, why do you still have his Facebook, what do you want to do with it? Since you both went to the Family Court for divorce, there's no need to keep Facebook, don't you think?"
Faced with Maud's request, Susanna decisively deleted Aaron's Facebook, "Is this okay?"
Maud continued to warn, "That's good. Erica's brother will attend the engagement this weekend, he's from a prominent family in Novaria. This is my son's wife, she should have the right family background. I hope you have some self-awareness, when you remarry, remember not to aim too high! Zachary is not someone you can aspire to."
Susanna gave a sarcastic smile. "Whether I can aspire or not is my own ability. If I could marry Aaron in the first place, why can't I aim for a better marriage in my second one?"
Suddenly, the air fell silent.
Brenda quickly spoke up, "Aaron, you're back."
Susanna's back stiffened as she turned to see the man walking in from the doorway, his gaze as deep as ink.
She slowly straightened her back, unwilling to show any fear at this moment.
Maud quickly smiled and stood up. "You're back. Did you hear what Susanna just said, talking about how she could have a better marriage in her second one? She doesn't even realize how lowly her status is, and she dares to dream like that. It's simply ridiculous."
Aaron's face remained expressionless, coming in and tearing at his tie.
Maud continued. "Aaron, just now Susanna's foster parents came to cause trouble, saying that this house is under Susanna's control and all your money is managed by her. I didn't expect Susanna to brag to her family like that, it's really funny."
Aaron's tone was indifferent. "I said that."
Maud was instantly stunned. Could her son say such things?
