Chapter 201 The True and False Socialites' Identities Revealed
Erica was freaking out, wondering if it could really be her who had come back.
No way, it couldn't be.
Erica clearly remembered handling the situation, making sure she'd never see her again.
But now, hearing this piano piece had completely reignited Erica's fear!
Back then, the Jones family wasn't looking for her; they were looking for her best friend, Sophie Morris!
Erica was jealous and eventually tricked her friend, taking her identity so Sophie would never know.
But in the end, Edward figured out the switch. Erica could only claim she had met the person in an orphanage but couldn't remember where they went.
In reality, that little girl was in the same orphanage as her.
But Erica used tricks to make her friend leave the orphanage and get adopted, so Edward never got to meet his real sister.
Eventually, Erica was taken back to the Jones family by Edward. She pretended not to remember any clues and stayed with the Jones family for years, completely forgetting her own identity and thinking of herself as a true Jones family socialite.
But she never expected to hear the piece again now!
This piece was composed by Jessica from the orphanage to comfort the kids. Only the kids from the orphanage knew this piece.
And back then, none of the kids knew how to play the piano, except for one person—her best friend, the real Jones family socialite.
Jessica loved tutoring Sophie, saying she had incredible talent and would surely be adopted by a wealthy family someday.
Erica had always been jealous of Sophie for being so obedient and well-liked by Jessica.
She also wanted to be adopted by a wealthy family. Why did Jessica always recommend Sophie whenever there was a chance, leaving her as just a sidekick?
Jealousy and resentment led Erica to take her friend's identity. She even found out that the family wasn't wealthy and adopted a child because they couldn't have their own.
For years, Erica had been very happy because she finally lived a wealthy life.
At first, Erica worried for a long time, fearing that the Jones family would find the real socialite one day and she would be kicked out.
As time passed, she gradually relaxed, thinking they would probably never find her.
But now, she heard this piece again, exactly as she remembered, even the pauses were identical.
This was Sophie! She had come back!
Erica frantically rushed into the school building, searching room by room, trembling with fear. If Sophie was found, wouldn't her effort in vain?
No way, absolutely not!
She would always be the Jones family's young lady!
Meanwhile, in a classroom upstairs.
Susanna finally stopped and said, "I can only recall these parts."
After being adopted as a child, she seemed to have fallen gravely ill and couldn't recall much about the orphanage, but she vividly remembered this piece.
"It sounds like a children's song. You played it quite well; you do have some foundation. What you need now is more practice. Choose a piece to practice, and if Peter tries to make things difficult, you can play this piece," the teacher suggested.
"Okay, thank you."
After giving some instructions, the teacher left, leaving Susanna to practice alone.
Besides this children's song, Susanna only knew what Brian had taught her. The teacher had also given her a few pieces to choose from for practice.
Susanna picked an unfamiliar piece to practice, but she played it slowly and awkwardly due to its unfamiliarity..
Outside, Erica was tearing through the school, floor by floor, like a madwoman, desperate to find the player.
But it was break time, and lots of students were practicing the piano.
Erica searched around, eventually finding an excuse to add these seniors on WhatsApp. She then meticulously combed through each floor, planning to dig into the player's backgrounds later.
Exhausted and panting, Erica heard the sound of awkward practice from a classroom. As she pushed the door open ,only to see Susanna sitting at the piano.
For a moment, Erica was stunned.
Hearing the door open, Susanna turned and saw Erica standing there, looking a bit disheveled, with sweat on her forehead and hair sticking to her scalp.
Erica leaned against the door, panting, and sneered, "Practicing in secret, huh? With your skills, even a year of practice wouldn't be enough. I advise you to give up."
Seeing Susanna, Erica figured she must have come to practice the piano based on what Peter had mentioned the day before.
After hearing Susanna's lackluster performance, Erica felt confident in her own abilities. With that skill level, Susanna was no match for her. Erica believed that Susanna would be chosen, only to be completely overshadowed by her own talent.
Erica didn't stay long and went to another classroom. She had to quickly finish searching the classrooms to find out who had played the piano piece earlier.
Susanna wasn't angered by Erica's words and continued to practice seriously. After all, there was still time.
Outside, after running through the school building, Erica found she had added hundreds of social media accounts.
Sitting on the stairs, Erica called her assistant. "Help me investigate these people's backgrounds ."
If Erica found Sophie, she would find a way to prevent Sophie from contacting the Jones family because she couldn't guarantee they wouldn't recognize her by appearance.
So as long as they didn't meet, there would be no risk of exposure.
Gritting her teeth, Erica vowed not to let anyone threaten her identity and status!
This was what she deserved!
Why should some people be born with everything while she had nothing? She had worked hard to get her current life and would never give it up. If anyone was to blame, it was Sophie's bad luck to have met her!
If Sophie was sensible, Erica might consider compensating her, but she would never let her reunite with the Jones family.
After practicing the piece all afternoon, Susanna went home to rest, feeling a bit frustrated because it seemed like she hadn't made any progress.
She was a bit upset, not knowing why things weren't going smoothly.
Brian noticed her mood, inquiring, "What's wrong? Did something happen at school?"
"Could it be that Peter isn't organizing things properly?" he pondered silently.
"Brian, I practiced some pieces at school today, but it didn't feel right."
"Which pieces did you practice?"
After Susanna confided in him, Brian let out a sigh. "Susanna, those pieces aren't suitable for you. It's not your fault; everyone has their own strengths, and those pieces don't suit you."
"Then what suits me?"
"The pieces I taught you before. Practice those."
Susanna nodded. The pieces she was most familiar with were the children's song from her childhood and the ones Brian had taught her recently.
She had wanted to practice the pieces the teacher gave her today, but it seemed her current skills weren't up to par.
Brian suddenly asked, "Susanna, do you remember anything from the orphanage?"
