Chapter 143 Finally Discovered
Aaron felt embarrassed and explained with a stern face, "I'm worried she'll be deceived, and then Grandma will also be worried. It's not for Susanna."
Tyler was speechless; inwardly, he vented, 'He really is in denial. Ever since the boss proposed a divorce and Susanna readily agreed, the boss had been acting quite abnormal.'
Meanwhile, Susanna left the private hospital with Austin.
She sat in the passenger seat and sneaked a glance at Austin. "Austin, was the meeting you just had successful?"
"Yes, it went smoothly. The surgery will begin in three days."
Upon hearing the surgery's start date, Susanna put on a much more serious expression. "Austin, the surgery must be successful. Grandma Maria is very important to me."
"Don't worry. I will do my best," Austin promised.
Austin's eyes were resolute. He knew Susanna was very sentimental, so he would certainly perform the surgery well to ensure Grandma Maria's health recovery, allowing Susanna to have no further ties to the Abbott family.
Susanna replied with a smile, "With your guarantee, I am at ease."
"Susanna, come to Novaria with us. Start a new life with the baby, completely away from the Abbott family."
"Alright, but not now."
Austin was very puzzled. "Do you have any concerns?"
Susanna shook her head. "I want to finish my credits, wait for Grandma Maria to recover after the surgery, and then try to persuade Madison. In a few months, my belly will be too big to conceal, and then I'll go to Novaria with you."
Austin calculated the time; it was just a few months, so waiting a bit longer was fine.
After arriving at the hospital, Susanna went for a prenatal check-up.
During the ultrasound, the doctor said in surprise, "Congratulations, there are two heartbeats. It's twins."
Upon hearing the doctor's words, Susanna looked at the ultrasound machine in disbelief. "Really?"
"Yes, it's true."
After the check-up, Susanna held the ultrasound report, showing a happy smile.
At this moment, Austin walked over. "How did it go?"
"The doctor said it's twins and asked me to do a blood test." Susanna smiled with joy. "Austin, I have two babies."
Austin took the report and glanced at it, giving a smile before controlling his expression. "Although having two children is good, it also increases the danger for you. I was already against keeping the child."
In his eyes, the child's importance was secondary to his sister's health.
Susanna held Austin's arm. "Austin, I'll be careful. Nothing will happen."
Austin could only sigh in the end. "Are you still keeping your pregnancy a secret from Edward and the others?"
"Let's not tell them for now. I'll tell them when we return to Novaria."
Susanna looked at Austin with wide, pleading eyes, and Austin reluctantly agreed, "Alright, I'll keep it a secret until then."
After all, they had already kept it from Edward for so long; a few more months wouldn't make much difference. If Edward found out now, the outcome would be the same. For Susanna, he was willing to take a beating from Edward.
At this moment, a woman suddenly rushed over and snatched the ultrasound report from her hand. "Susanna, I knew you were pregnant! Now I've caught you."
Susanna looked at the crazy woman wearing a hat and mask in disbelief. "Allison?"
"Yes, it's me."
Susanna saw her remove her mask, revealing that it was indeed Allison. She hadn't seen Allison since the last relocation, gazing at her coldly and saying, "Give it back to me."
"Why should I give it back? Susanna, you're pregnant with another man's child, aren't you? Is it this man beside you? Now, I've got something on you," Allison accused Susanna.
Susanna was a bit speechless. "What does my pregnancy have to do with you? What can you do with my stuff anyway?"
Allison replied, "This report means nothing to me, but it's valuable to someone else. Elaine would be very interested in this. How much would she pay me?"
When Susanna heard this, her expression changed slightly. "This child isn't Elaine's. Even if you give it to her, it won't matter. There's no law against being pregnant. What can you do even if you reveal it?"
After she finished speaking, Allison was stunned for a moment, as if realizing Susanna had a point.
Allison glanced at the ultrasound report in her hand. But when she had mentioned Susanna might be pregnant, Elaine had shown great interest, as if she held some leverage over Susanna.
While Allison was in a daze, Austin stepped forward and snatched the report back. "If you're looking for trouble, don't blame me for being rude. Wasn't fifteen days in jail enough for you last time?"
They had managed to get Allison locked up in the police station for fifteen days last time.
They thought Allison would learn her lesson, but she dared to come back.
Upon hearing this, Allison's expression changed drastically, and she turned and ran.
Austin wanted to chase her, but Allison quickly disappeared into the hospital, making it impossible to catch up.
Susanna walked to the entrance. "Austin, let it go."
Austin asked, "What if Allison tells the Abbott family you're pregnant?"
Susanna took a deep breath. "No one will believe her, and I know how to handle this. Don't worry, Austin."
"Rest assured, I'll change the name on your medical record. Even if the Abbott family investigates, they won't find anything," Austin said.
"That would be safer."
Susanna carefully put the report away. No matter what, she would protect the two babies in her belly. She still needed to continue with detailed check-ups.
Austin was still a bit uneasy. When Susanna went for her check-up, he made a phone call. "Find a woman named Allison and make sure she keeps her mouth shut."
Aaron couldn't know about the children before Susanna went to Novaria with them.
Although he wasn't afraid of Aaron, it would be troublesome if Aaron fought for custody. The Abbott family wasn't easy to deal with.
Most importantly, he didn't want Aaron and Susanna to have any more entanglements.
All problems had to be solved now, eliminating any possibilities.
Allison ran frantically, afraid of being caught. She took out her phone to call Elaine, but no one answered.
Allison was anxious. 'Why isn't that fool Elaine answering?'
Finally, Allison had no choice but to send Elaine a message: [I got Susanna's pregnancy ultrasound report.]
After sending the message, Allison smirked. She didn't know what Elaine wanted to do with Susanna's pregnancy, but as long as Elaine was willing to pay, that was enough. She needed money badly.
Soon, Elaine called back. Allison's eyes lit up as she was about to answer, but suddenly, someone covered her mouth, and everything went black as she fainted.
On the other end, Elaine was puzzled when no one answered. She cursed a few times. "What's wrong with Allison? Sending a message and then not answering. Is she trying to blackmail me?"
Elaine snorted dismissively and decided not to call again, assuming that Allison would call back when she saw it.
Erica asked in surprise, "Is what Allison said true? Is Susanna really pregnant?"
