Chapter 243 Tell Aaron to Get Lost as Far as Possible

Susanna glanced at Aviana, feeling like everything was a bit surreal, especially when Aviana whipped out that fancy membership card earlier—it was mind-blowing.

Aviana coughed and said, "Your brothers' company is doing great. I invested all my savings in their startup, and now they're paying me back. It's only fair."

"They're doing that well?" Susanna felt something was off but couldn't pinpoint it.

Aviana was about to collapse when Susanna's phone beeped. It was a message from Aaron: [Did you finish buying the clothes?]

Susanna guessed Maud must have called Aaron to complain.

"Susanna, who messaged you?"

"A friend."

Just as Susanna put her phone away, the store manager approached with a big smile. "This is our latest handbag. Do you think it goes well with this dress?"

Aviana glanced at the bag and asked, "Why didn't you show it to me earlier? Worried I couldn't afford it?"

The manager looked apologetic. "No, there's just a rule; it can't be sold until three days later."."

Susanna was curious. "If it has to wait three days, why bring it out now?"

"Mrs. Abbott, due to the misunderstanding earlier, this is our store's compensation for you," the manager explained.

"Mrs. Abbott?" Susanna's expression shifted. "Was this Aaron's idea?"

The manager, realizing her mistake, quickly shut her mouth, worried.

Aviana squeezed Susanna's hand. "Susanna, we don’t need this handbag! Tell Aaron we can afford these ourselves. We don’t need the Abbott family to intervene!"

Susanna was taken aback by Aviana's reaction. After the manager's slip, Aviana hadn't even asked about Aaron. Susanna was astonished. "Aviana, you knew about Aaron and me all along?"

"Guess the secret's out now." After the manager left, Aviana sighed, "Why didn't you tell us about your connection to the Abbott family sooner? Were you worried about causing us trouble?"

Susanna nodded. "Yes, this is Lindwell after all. Besides, it's over between him and me, so I didn't think it was necessary."

"Susanna, that's just your view. Aaron doesn't seem to think it's over! He even sent you such an expensive bag."

Susanna's expression became unnatural, and she lowered her voice. "He's just worried that Maria knowing about our divorce would affect her health."

"So Aaron doesn't agree to the divorce, right?"

"Yes."

After Susanna answered, Aviana angrily slapped the sofa. "Susanna, don't be afraid. Leave the divorce to Daniel!"

"Aviana, I know what I'm doing about the divorce," Susanna answered.

"Susanna, Maud was so arrogant just now. You must have suffered a lot in the Abbott family for three years. But now it's different; you have our support. Don't be afraid! I'll take your brothers and confront the Abbott family directly. That old witch has no right to bully you; she's asking for trouble." Aviana fumed.

This was exactly what Susanna feared the most! She quickly grabbed Aviana's hand. "Aviana, I just want to leave quietly and not have any more entanglements with the Abbotts."

"You're too considerate. It makes people feel sorry for you. Don't worry; at the weekend's banquet, we'll all support you!" Aviana said, gritting her teeth. She knew the Abbott family was hosting a charity auction and wanted to teach them a lesson.

Susanna thought Aviana had given up and finally relaxed. "We've got the clothes; let's head back."

"Alright, let's check out!"

Susanna watched Aviana buy loads of clothes, picking out high-end brands like they were groceries. That odd feeling in her gut surfaced again, but considering Edward and the others made so much money, Aviana's spending habits shouldn't be a big deal.

They carried many shopping bags home. Madison saw all the clothes and kept saying it was wasteful, but she was still happy to try on the new outfits.

After washing up, Susanna lay on her bed, and her phone beeped again: [Why didn't you take the bag? It matches your dress.]

It was another message from Aaron.

She thought for a moment and replied: [Because I don't like it.]

The next second, Aaron called. Susanna hesitated but answered, "What's up?"

"Congratulations on finding your family. Grandma would be very happy to know," Aaron said.

Susanna paused and replied, "I'll tell Grandma."

"I heard your family is quite wealthy. Which family are they from?"

"They're from Novaria. They're not very rich, but my family cares about me a lot, so they're generous with money."

"No wonder you didn't care about the money during the divorce," Aaron said with a hint of sarcasm.

Susanna thought of how she had angered Maud today and felt much happier. "Yes, because I don't lack money now."

Aaron felt a bit depressed hearing this, feeling that Susanna was drifting further away from him.

Susanna smirked, "By the way, did Aunt Maud complain to you just now?"

"Yes, she wanted me to kick you all out of the mall," Aaron answered.

"Why didn't you do it?"

"I'm a businessman. The mall's rules are that way. You have a super membership card, so you have the right to clear the place."

Susanna suddenly didn't know how to respond. "Aaron, you are indeed a qualified businessman."

After saying that, she hung up. Aaron looked at his phone, feeling quite depressed.

He glanced at the city lights outside his office. He used to go home after work every day, but now he couldn't remember the last time he went back to the marital villa on time.

After Susanna left, the villa felt empty, like something was missing. Aaron, feeling gloomy, called Sam. "Did you find out anything about Susanna's family background?"

"Not yet. Susanna's personal records hasn't changed, so we can't find anything," Sam explained.

Aaron rubbed his temples, thinking of Susanna's family being from Novaria, and suddenly thought of Austin. The Jones family was also from Novaria!

His lips tightened. "No wonder the Jones family is so close to her; it must be related to her family."

Sam blurted out, "Then Susanna and Austin would be a perfect match!"

Aaron's face instantly darkened. "If you can't speak properly, shut up!"

"Aaron, if you really want to win her back, do it before the divorce is finalized. If you can't make up, just don't get divorced!"

Aaron hesitated. Maybe it could work?
