Chapter 519 Announcing My Relationship with Her
Susanna felt a bit flustered for a moment, especially with everyone around them staring.
With all these eyes on them, didn't he feel embarrassed?
Aaron held Susanna close, his usually deep eyes now showing a hint of awkwardness.
She saw the unease hidden deep in his eyes, even a bit of fear.
When she looked into those eyes, she was stunned, seeing Aaron's vulnerable side.
Aviana had once said that guys like Aaron wouldn't easily fall for someone.
How could you tell if a guy like that had fallen for you? You had to see if he became cautious around you, acting like a regular guy.
Aaron lowered his eyes to look at her, his Adam's apple bobbing a few times.
Finally, he placed the balloon in her hand, his voice much softer, "Please accept my apology and give me another chance?"
Susanna held the biggest, shiniest balloon in her hand, looking up at Aaron. His features looked even more handsome under the light, and those eyes were deeply and brightly fixed on her.
She held the balloon string in her palm, ready to let go at any moment.
It seemed like, at this moment, memories of the past five years flashed before her eyes.
He stood right in front of her, his tall figure enveloping her, his thin lips tightly pressed in nervousness. "Please don't reject me, okay?"
At this moment, his posture seemed to have fallen into the dust, just like she had five years ago.
Susanna's breath hitched. Just as she was about to say something, she felt someone taking pictures with a camera.
She looked up and saw a lens from a Volkswagen car, clearly a paparazzo.
Susanna was very sensitive to such lenses at the moment, immediately hiding in Aaron's arms, whispering, "There's a paparazzo right across the street."
Aaron immediately turned around to shield Susanna, turning his head to look at the Volkswagen across the street, his expression instantly becoming very cold and stern. "I'll go handle it."
"Come on; what are you going to handle? Let's just go." Susanna pulled Aaron, and after they got in the car, they finally blocked the view from outside.
However, the space inside the car wasn't large, almost filled by the balloon.
The secretary in the front seat said, "Ms. Jones, the paparazzo has run off. I'll send someone to coordinate."
"Make sure the photos don't get exposed."
Susanna glanced at the balloon in front of her. If the photos were exposed, wouldn't Aaron's whereabouts be revealed?
She believed Edward's talk about sending a hitman wasn't a joke.
Aaron was silent for a moment. "Am I really that unpresentable?"
Susanna looked at Aaron in front of her, but the balloon was in the way between them. She bit her lip. "If you want to end your life early, or end your trip to Philadelphia early, you don't have to go through so much trouble. Just let the paparazzo reveal your face."
He chuckled softly, "Are you worried about me?"
"Don't overthink it. I'm not worried about you. After all, the kids are still so young. If their father dies, it wouldn't be good for their growth."
Aaron turned his head, looking at her profile through the balloon, calmly saying, "Alright, I'll live well."
Susanna only felt his gaze was a bit scorching. She looked at the secretary in the front seat, asking, "The paparazzo isn't following us, right?"
"We haven't spotted any suspicious vehicles so far. The paparazzo should be gone."
"Alright, stop the car!"
Once the car stopped, Susanna turned to Aaron and said, "Mr. Abbott, please get out. We're not heading the same way."
With the paparazzo gone, she had no reason to keep him around.
Aaron didn't expect to get kicked out of the car like this.
He pushed the balloon aside. "See you tomorrow then."
"I'm very busy tomorrow."
"Then the day after tomorrow."
"Also very busy."
Susanna wasn't giving Aaron any chances.
Aaron didn't get mad, his gaze deep. "I'll wait until you're free. I won't waste this hard-earned opportunity."
After saying that, he got out of the car and left.
Susanna watched his tall figure walk away, pursing her lips and glancing at the balloon inside the car.
She hadn't agreed to give him another chance.
If she hadn't noticed the paparazzo, she wouldn't have pulled Aaron away.
Aaron stood by the roadside, looking like a model posing for street photos.
He was clad in a lightweight shirt. His tall, slender frame accentuated by his striking features, resembling a model straight out of a magazine.
She watched for a while, and their gazes met.
Susanna quickly looked away, saying to the secretary in the front seat, "Hurry up and go. Why are we still parked here?"
The car quickly drove off.
Aaron watched her car leave, his thin lips curving into a smile, no longer cautious, reverting to his noble and aloof self.
Soon, a luxury car pulled up in front of him.
Sam poked his head out. "Aaron, get in."
Aaron bent down to get in the car, glancing at Sam. "Well done."
"Of course, but the paparazzo was caught by Susanna's people. Luckily, they sent the video and photos to me in advance. It's all on this USB drive."
Sam handed over the USB drive, and Aaron took it, playing with it, his face showing a mysterious expression, pondering something.
Aaron held the USB drive, asking, "Did you silence the paparazzo?"
"Already done, but what do you plan to do with this? If the Jones Family investigates, I can't guarantee the paparazzo will keep his mouth shut."
Aaron's eyes were assertive. "Then find a way to make sure he does."
"Okay, I'll arrange it. But what are you going to do with this? You used to hate being followed by paparazzi."
When Sam got Aaron's message, he didn't ask much and directly arranged for the paparazzo to go.
Aaron said in a deep voice, "Of course, to openly announce my relationship with her."
Sam said, "You finally managed to stay low-key in Philadelphia. If this gets exposed, her brothers definitely won't let you off."
"I know, but if I can't get past them, I'll never get close to her."
Sam paused. "True."
Aaron put away the USB drive, then said, "How's the investigation on Owen's secret dealings with Emerald Island?"
"No direct evidence yet, they're very discreet. If you want evidence, you might have to cooperate with them to get close enough."
"Keep investigating."
Sam was curious, asking, "Why are you suddenly looking into this? It has nothing to do with you."
"It has nothing to do with me, but it has to do with the Jones Family."
