Chapter 254 Who Exactly Are Your Family Members
Erica suddenly had a bad feeling.
Maud looked surprised and said, "You didn't hear? Susanna reunited with her family. They were all at the mall together, shopping for dresses. And get this, they even have a DivineDynasty super VIP card, so they can grab any limited edition item they want."
Maud then eyed Susanna suspiciously. "Why'd you only buy a dress and not a bag? They come as a set!"
Susanna paused, feeling Aaron's gaze, and replied calmly, "Because I don't like it."
Aaron frowned, thinking, 'Does she not like the bag, or the one I gave her?'
Erica suddenly screamed, "No! This can't be true! How could Susanna have found her family? It's not possible!"
If the Jones family had found Susanna, they'd have announced it by now. How could she just make that up and expect Wendy and Edward to show up immediately? It didn't add up. Where did this go wrong?
Susanna found Erica's words odd and asked, "Erica, how are you so sure I couldn't have found my family?"
"I just know it!" Erica stood up, her expression intense. She stared at Susanna. "Who paid for your shopping spree? Spill it!"
If she knew who that person was, she could figure out what was going on!
"Why should I tell you? Why satisfy your curiosity?" Seeing Erica's crazed look, Susanna didn't want to tell her, to avoid causing trouble for Aviana.
Erica screamed, "You have to tell me! Who went to the mall with you? Who is your family?"
Erica grabbed Susanna's wrist, causing her pain.
'Has Erica gone mad? Is it so hard for her to accept that I found my family?' Susanna thought.
"Let go!" A cold, stern voice came from the doorway, and six handsome men walked in. Each was in a suit, tall and slender, with distinct features.
Aviana walked in the middle, wearing a designer dress and carrying a designer bag, exuding the aura of a wealthy lady.
Seeing her six brothers and Aviana, Susanna smiled. She had been looking for them just now.
At that moment, her wrist was released!
Erica ran directly towards the brothers and grabbed Edward's hand. "Edward, someone is bullying me!"
Hearing Erica call out "Edward," Susanna's face changed instantly, her eyes widening in disbelief. What was Erica getting at today? Why was she turning to Edward to vent?
Edward pulled his hand back with a cold face. "I think you're the one bullying others."
Erica's expression paused. "Edward, how could I bully others?"
Aviana said bluntly, "I saw you pulling Susanna's hand forcefully just now. What were you trying to do?"
Erica explained in a panic, "Aviana, I didn't!"
Maud, standing nearby, was equally puzzled. She glanced at Erica and asked, "Is this Aviana?"
Aviana smiled faintly at Maud. "That's right, my husband is Edward. I'm usually very low-key and rarely appear in public, so it's no surprise you didn't recognize me."
Maud's face changed dramatically. "What's going on? Erica, aren't they your family? Why are they now Susanna's family? Could the Jones family have two heirs?" That would explain a lot!
Erica felt like she was sinking into an ice-cold pit. She glanced between Susanna and Maud. "What do you mean, Susanna's family?"
"Weren't you just asking who took Susanna to the mall to buy a dress? It was Aviana!" Maud's words extinguished the flame in Erica's heart.
Erica could barely stand. "It's impossible, how could this be?"
When did the Jones family find Susanna? Why didn't she hear anything?
She didn't even know Aviana had taken Susanna shopping!
At this moment, Aviana walked towards Susanna with a smile. "Maud, the Jones family doesn't have two heirs. There's only ever been one."
Maud was confused. "Isn't it Erica?"
"Erica is just an adopted daughter. She's not the real heir of the Jones family. This is no secret in Novaria, but it seems people in Lindwell don't know."
Maud was momentarily stunned. "So, does that mean Susanna is...?"
Maud quickly covered her mouth, glancing guiltily at Susanna. She hadn't expected Erica to be adopted and Susanna to be the real heir. How could this be?
Susanna caught Maud's eye, still trying to wrap her head around the situation.
Why were her brothers now Erica's brothers? Wait, weren't Erica's brothers affiliated with the Jones family in Novaria? Did that mean she was the true heir of the Jones family?
Everything was happening too fast. She turned to Edward, her confusion evident. "What's going on?"
Edward cleared his throat. "Susanna, I'm sorry we lied to you."
Susanna was confused. "Why did you lie to me? Was it because of Erica?"
Austin shook his head. "No, it's not because of Erica. Initially, you seemed so against us and rich folks in general. We were worried you'd get the wrong idea, so we played it cool, pretending to be less well-off to connect with you."
Brian added, "Susanna, we've always felt guilty for finding you so late. We were afraid you'd be angry, thinking we were rich but still took so long to find you, making you suffer. That's why we didn't reveal our identities."
Daniel nodded. "Exactly, we were just worried you might push us away."
Susanna found herself laughing through tears. "How could I abandon you?"
They were more than just brothers; they were her family. But she never imagined her brothers were part of the affluent Jones family in Novaria! And to top it off, she was the rightful heir to the Jones family!
Justin added with a hint of guilt, "Susanna, don't be mad. We didn't mean to hide it from you for so long."
For a moment, Susanna was at a loss for words.
After hearing Justin's words, Erica suddenly rose to her feet. "For so long? How long exactly? So you came to Lindwell because you found Susanna, right? And then you wanted to give me some money to leave the Jones family and make room for Susanna?"
The realization dawned on Erica that the Jones family had discovered Susanna a while back!
She was the only one left in the dark!
Justin's voice turned cold. "Do you, this pretender, have any complaints?"
