Chapter 442 There Are Always Some Who Are Extremely Foolish

"Are you freakin' kidding me? How could this broke bodyguard be the president of the Abbott Group? If he is, I'll eat this whole proposal."

Aaron's lips curled into a cold smirk. "I'm afraid just eating the proposal won't be enough for you."

"Come on, you seriously think you're the CEO of the Abbott Group? Let me tell you, you ain't getting away today."

Susanna cut in, her voice icy, "Don't forget whose turf you're on. If you try anything, the one who won't get away will be you."

Marcus waved his hand, and a swarm of bodyguards and security dudes stormed in.

Seeing he was outnumbered, Roman's bravado crumbled, especially since he lost two teeth last time.

He pointed at Susanna and Aaron, cursing, "Just you wait. Once I sign the contract with the president of the Abbott Group, you two are done for."

Susanna couldn't wait to see the look on the Thornberry family's faces when they found out the bodyguard by her side was actually the president of the Abbott Group!

Even though she wanted to teach Roman a lesson, this was the Jones family's private hospital. A brawl in the lobby would mess up the hospital's business. Susanna didn't want to cause trouble in her own place.

There were plenty of ways to deal with the Thornberry family, and Austin had just told her that Edward was already taking action against them. They were just bluffing and posed no real threat.

Aaron watched as the Thornberry family got kicked out. He looked down at Susanna and said, "Hand me the phone."

The situation was too awkward; he couldn't stand idiots like the Thornberry family spreading rumors and messing with the Jones family's rep.

He also wanted to know which branch office decided to team up with the Thornberry family.

Susanna looked up at him and said, "So, you're finally heading back to Lindwell?"

This was good news for her.

Aaron narrowed his eyes and said, "You're overthinking it. I just need to make a call to deal with the Thornberry family. Can you stand them being so cocky in front of you again and again?"

Susanna took a deep breath and replied, "Of course, I don't want them spreading rumors. That's why I came to you, hoping you'd go back to Lindwell soon to handle this. Otherwise, idiots like them spreading rumors will make people think the Abbott family only deals with fools like the Thornberry family."

Aaron calmly replied, "I can fix this with one phone call; I don't need to go back to Lindwell."

Aaron was a tough nut to crack.

Hearing this, Susanna gritted her teeth and said, "Do you think I'd lend you my phone if you don't go back to Lindwell?"

Aaron calmly replied, "Do you think I can't find someone else to lend me a phone?"

Of course he could. Susanna knew Aaron was crafty. In his current state, borrowing a phone was no big deal for him.

Susanna looked at Aaron and said, "Even if you make a call, as long as I don't agree, your people won't be able to come to Novaria to see you."

"It doesn't matter if they see me or not. As long as they hit up the Novaria branch and dig into the whole deal with the Thornberry family, that's enough."

"This is a big deal. You think you can fix it without showing up in person?"

"If they can't handle this small fry, they should just pack up and quit."

Aaron's tone was ice-cold, totally fitting his CEO vibe.

He looked at her and continued, "Sending someone to deal with the Thornberry family, isn't that what you want?"

Susanna took a deep breath. Yeah, seeing the Thornberry family get what's coming to them was what she wanted, but she also hoped Aaron would use this chance to head back to Lindwell. That way, she wouldn't have to sneak around with her kid, always worried Aaron would find out.

"But the Thornberry family disrespected you so much, they even insulted you to your face. And you still don't plan to go back and teach them a lesson?"

"This kind of small-time stuff doesn't need me to show up."

Susanna was quiet for a moment. It seemed Aaron was dead set on not leaving.

She looked seriously at the injured and disheveled Aaron in front of her. Honestly, she didn't expect Aaron to hold out this long, and he even planned to keep enduring.

Her eyes flickered as she asked, "Will you leave after you see Lillian is safe?"

Aaron nodded. "Yeah."

"Alright, I'll set it up for you to see Lillian tomorrow. After that, you gotta leave."

Aaron heard her words, and his hand by his side slowly clenched. "Do you really not want to see me that much?"

He had stuck around, not just for Lillian, but for her too.

He wanted to stay by her side and win her back.

"Aaron, we split four years ago. Our relationship ended a long time ago. You have visitation rights to Lillian, and I'll cooperate with that. So there's no need for you to stay in Novaria."

Aaron's eyes showed an unreadable expression. Finally, he spoke in a hoarse voice, "Susanna, do I really have no chance at all?"

"I said, you have visitation rights to Lillian. I won't stop you from seeing her. Didn't you stay here for Lillian from the start?"

"No."

Hearing this, Susanna vaguely sensed what Aaron wanted to say.

During this time, she had noticed Aaron's attitude towards her had changed a lot, but Aviana had also said that a guy like Aaron wouldn't easily fall in love with a woman.

He was different towards her now, maybe because of the guilt from four years ago and for Lillian's sake.

In any case, it wouldn't be because he loved her.

Aaron's heart was racing, and he spoke in a deep voice, "Actually, I..."

"Susanna."

A man's cold voice came from the side. Susanna turned her head and saw Michael appear. She immediately smiled. "Michael, why are you here?"

Could it be that there was a problem with Charles's treatment?

Susanna's heart suddenly tightened.

Michael came to her side and said in a low voice, "I have some matters to handle. Last time we agreed to have a meal together, but a surgery came up. Do you have time today?"

Susanna nodded. "Yeah, I have time."

As soon as she finished speaking, she felt Aaron's face beside her turn much colder.
