Chapter 69 Aaron's Unaware Jealousy
Susanna felt Justin's anger and quickly reached out to restrain him, signaling for him to calm down!
He glanced at Erica and sarcastically said, "Do you know who you owe your success to today? Be mindful of your status!"
Erica's face changed drastically, afraid that Justin would reveal the fact that she was adopted.
After all, only a few people in Novaria knew about it, but nobody knew in Lindwell. That's why she always enjoyed coming to Lindwell; nobody knew her background.
In Novaria, the true elite looked down upon Erica just because she was an adopted orphan. That's why she vowed to marry a man with a strong family background and personal abilities.
Aaron was the one Erica chose. After she becomes Aaron's wife, the people back in Novaria would never dare to underestimate her!
Hearing Justin's words, Erica dared not say anything.
Susanna found it a little strange and thought to herself, 'Even though Justin is currently impersonating Zachary, isn't he afraid of causing trouble for Zachary with his words?'
"Susanna, take this. Raise the number card when you see something you like at the auction," Justin said.
Susanna reluctantly took another number card and could sense Justin's protection towards her.
Aaron saw the number card in her hand and pursed his lips coldly. He casually tossed his number card aside.
The auction began.
Justin asked, "Susanna, what do you think of this antique vase? How about buying it and placing it in your living room?"
Susanna hesitated. "The antique vase doesn't match with the home decor."
"Susanna, what do you think of this painting? Wouldn't this flower and bird picture be nice hanging in Madison's room?"
"Susanna, what do you think of this diamond necklace?" Justin said.
Susanna glanced at the photo. "It's quite beautiful."
"Alright, Susanna, let's buy this necklace later. You keep looking. If you find anything else you like, tell me." Justin continued.
Aaron tugged at his tie. He had been constantly hearing Justin's voice, Justin who kept calling Susanna's name. Aaron looked at the modern flower and bird picture displayed on the stage. When he heard Justin's bid next to him, he also raised his number card.
Susanna looked at Aaron beside her in surprise, not understanding what he was trying to do.
Justin sneered and continued to raise the bid. "Four hundred thousand dollars."
Aaron calmly said, "Five hundred thousand dollars."
Susanna suddenly got a bad feeling. As expected, Erica raised her sign and said, "Six hundred thousand dollars."
Aaron raised another one hundred thousand dollars.
Susanna thought to herself, "Were both of them competing?'
Erica also sensed that. She wondered if Aaron had raised the price for Susanna.
After a while, Justin raised his sign and said, "One million dollars!" It once again attracted the attention of everyone present.
Susanna blinked at Justin, wanting to tell him to stop the bidding. But Justin had decided to buy this picture for Susanna, and no one could take away this picture!
After a few seconds, Aaron said, "1.2 million dollars."
Susanna grabbed the number plate straight out of Justin's hand. A number of people looked at her, and they seemed to be waiting for her to raise her plate.
Susanna glanced sideways at Aaron, who looked down at her with a bright gaze. They stared at each other for a moment.
Susanna smiled, "Mr. Abbott. Since you like it so much, we'll let you have it."
Aaron swept a glance at Justin and then said, "Are you guys finally conceding?"
Justin heard this, and instantly, his anger bubbled back up. He thought to himself, 'How could I possibly admit defeat? If Susanna hadn't been holding my hand down, I would have taught Aaron a lesson today!'
Susanna pressed Justin's hand and replied calmly, "We are not stupid!"
Justin grimaced and flashed a smile at Susanna. "Susanna, you're right. That's just foolhardy."
Aaron, who had already bought the painting, felt the word "dumbass" written over his head. He squeezed the number plate tightly and stared at the painting without saying a word. He didn't feel happy at all, and he even felt worse.
Erica said to the waiter, "Put the painting away. We'll pay for it together later." After she finished speaking, she glanced at Susanna. And she added, "After all, auctions are competitive like that. Aaron is also buying it back to give to Mrs. Maria."
Susanna knew Erica was making excuses for Aaron; she smiled and didn't say anything.
Aaron narrowed his eyes, and he seemed extraordinarily annoyed.
It wasn't long before the diamond necklace was to be auctioned. The starting price was 600 thousand dollars.
Justin immediately said, "Susanna, I'll buy you a necklace. It will look great on you!" Justin thought Susanna looked good in anything!
Susanna didn't say anything. Erica raised her card and said, "Eight hundred thousand dollars."
When Justin heard this, he was silent for a moment. He didn't understand why Aaron always competed with him for a gift for Susanna.
Justin raised his card and said, "One million dollars!"
This time, the bidding increased by two hundred thousand dollars each time, once again attracting the attention of everyone present.
Erica furrowed her brow and looked at Justin, forcing a smile. "Mr. Jones, do you also like this necklace?"
"Susanna does. I warn you not to interfere!" Justin was already angry that he hadn't been able to buy that painting earlier.
Erica didn't dare to confront Justin directly. She thought, 'What if Justin exposes that I am adopted later on? How am I going to survive in Lindwell then?'
Erica could only reluctantly respond with a smile, "Then I'll give up."
After speaking, she intentionally glanced at Aaron beside her. This way, Aaron should realize the reality that Susanna already had a man.
With Erica withdrawing from the bidding, Justin thought this was his chance to succeed.
However, Aaron held up his number card once again. "Two million dollars!"
This time, even Susanna couldn't help but look directly at him, wondering if Aaron had gone mad.
Justin had just bid one million dollars, but Aaron had directly raised it to two million dollars.
Susanna thought Aaron must have lost his mind.
Beside them, Elaine whispered, "Erica, Aaron must be buying it for you. Don't worry."
Erica revealed a hint of unease, wondering if Aaron was really buying it for her. Erica wasn't sure, and she even speculated that he might be doing it for Susanna's sake.
But Susanna clearly had Justin trying to please her. A man of Aaron's status should not be able to bear such embarrassment.
It made things interesting.
Susanna heard Elaine's conversation with Erica. A self-deprecating look flashed in her eyes. Indeed, it was obvious who Aaron was buying the necklace for.
Justin raised his sign once again. "Four million dollars."
The atmosphere in the auction hall instantly became tense. The others in the room lost interest in the auction items and were only focused on this competition.
When Susanna heard the number "four million dollars," her heart skipped a beat. She thought Aaron and Justin were going crazy!
She tried to stop Justin, but this time, he held her hand down not giving her a chance to interfere.
Soon, the price soared to ten million dollars.
Susanna was in a panic, her heart pounding!
Justin shouted, "Ten million dollars," which was already a high price.
Aaron saw Susanna holding hands with Justin and felt extremely dissatisfied. He coldly raised the sign. "Twenty million dollars!"
