Chapter 65 I Admit
Upon hearing this, Aaron raised an eyebrow, almost forgetting that Susanna was now ‘pregnant.’
Vaguely, Aaron replied, "Okay, I got it."
"You clearly forgot. If I hadn't reminded you, you wouldn't have remembered, right? Bring Susanna to the hospital where I live for a prenatal check-up tomorrow." Maria said. Then she hung up after finishing her words.
Aaron rubbed his forehead and looked at Jimmy. "Make an appointment at the OB/GYN clinic at the hospital. Don't let Grandma notice any mistakes."
Jimmy nodded quickly and left the office.
Aaron picked up his phone and opened Susanna's WhatsApp.
Aaron: [Come to the hospital tomorrow morning. Grandma wants to see you.]
After finishing her meal in the hospital room, Susanna felt much better.
Austin stood by her bed. He said, "Take the medicine home with you. The results of your prenatal check-up haven't come out yet, so I'll notify you after the results come out. Rest well tonight, and don't overwork yourself at work. Remember to take folic acid."
"I understand. Austin, I've had a question I've wanted to ask you, but I haven't gotten a chance before. Aren't you a veterinarian?" Susanna said.
Susanna didn't understand why she had actually encountered Austin at the hospital yesterday. Austin didn't seem like a veterinarian at all!
Austin touched his nose, somewhat embarrassed. "That was just a joke before. Veterinary medicine used to be my aspiration, but reality and dreams are two different things."
Susanna nodded, accepting this explanation.
Austin quickly changed the subject. "I'm on duty today. But Justin just finished filming. He's coming to pick you up."
Susanna was about to refuse, but Justin had already called her. "Susanna, I'm in the hospital garage. I'll be up soon."
Susanna remembered that reporters always photographed Justin whenever he showed up. After all, the best actor was very popular.
She quickly declined. "No, I'll come down by myself."
Susanna hurriedly got out of bed and went to the underground garage. She specifically put on a mask, just in case she was photographed. She saw a limousine parked at the elevator entrance and walked straight to it.
After getting in the car, Susanna took a look outside. "Justin, there shouldn't be any reporters following you this time, right?"
"Don't worry, my driver shook off the reporters. Susanna, Austin said you were sick with a fever. Have you been working too hard lately? Why don't you quit and let me take care of you?" Justin suggested.
Susanna was somewhat helpless, so she changed the topic, "I'm fine. I just caught a cold by accident. Your movie seems really good this time. What did you act in this time?"
"Basically, all the action scenes were mine. You'll see how handsome I am when it's released," Justin proudly responded.
Susanna noticed the wound on Justin's arm and felt a bit distressed. "That actor was so irresponsible, he didn't perform such a dangerous scene, but made you replace him. And in the end, he even boasted about not using a stunt double. It's really unfair to you." Susanna said.
Justin's manager heard this and choked on water.
Justin felt a little embarrassed and said with a guilty look, "It's alright. He paid me a lot of money. By the way, Susanna, do you want to participate in a variety of entertainment shows? I heard they're preparing a program where designers collaborate with celebrities to renovate their homes."
Susanna declined after hearing this, "Forget it. I'm currently working part-time at Q.F. Studio and still attending classes at school. I don't have that much time."
"Okay then." Justin felt a bit regretful. He thought to himself, 'Why can't I get Susanna into the entertainment industry?'
After returning home, Madison knew she was sick and hospitalized, so she specifically made soup for her. After a while, Edward also found out about her illness and immediately started a group video call to ask about her condition.
Susanna rallied and explained to her brothers that she just had a cold, not a terminal illness. But deep down, she was still happy to have her family's care and concern.
After ending the video call, Susanna lay in bed to rest, but now she couldn't fall asleep. She took out her phone and checked WhatsApp, seeing a message from Aaron. She hadn't noticed it earlier while chatting with her family.
Knowing that she still had to continue acting in front of Maria, she replied: [I know.]
Susanna closed her eyes and thought of the white wedding dress she had seen on Erica. That dress made people feel irritable.
However, Susanna thought that one month would pass quickly. After that, she wouldn't have to pretend in front of Maria anymore.
The next day, Susanna went directly to the private hospital where Maria lived. She sat in the taxi and received a message from her friend.
Flandre: [Susanna, you said you have no relationship with Justin. That person wearing a mask, is that you? That bag was the gift I gave you for your last birthday.]
Susanna saw Flandre's message and suddenly had a bad feeling. She opened the entertainment news and once again saw the rumors about her and Justin. [Justin returned home with his girlfriend after finishing the movie]
The photos were obviously taken from outside the residential area. Now Justin suddenly had her as his girlfriend!
Susanna didn't know what expression to put on her face anymore. She used to explain, but now she had given up. Anyway, no one in the entertainment industry would really believe the news.
Soon, Flandre sent another message.
Flandre: [Susanna, it's not just me who recognized you this time. Some classmates are also asking me if it's you?]
Susanna sighed slightly. Luckily, she had worn a mask when she left the hospital; otherwise, it would have been disastrous.
She directly forwarded this entertainment news and commented, [That's right. I admit I am Justin's girlfriend.]
There were many comments. But most people were joking and didn't believe her words, thinking that the woman in the photo just somewhat resembled her.
Susanna knew that a big star like Justin wouldn't be with an ordinary person.
She walked out of the elevator and saw a man standing in the corridor. His back was tall and broad, and he seemed to be saying something to the doctor beside him.
Susanna hesitated, slowing down her pace.
Jimmy saw Susanna and immediately reminded Aaron, "Mr. Abbott, Susanna's here."
Aaron turned around and saw the woman coming out of the elevator, narrowing his eyes slightly. "You're late," he said.
"You only said morning but didn't specify the time." Susanna calmly retorted.
He was about to marry Erica now, but his tone of speech was still so infuriating. She wouldn't tolerate his temper.
The man pursed his lips. "You've found a new target. Even your tone of speech has changed."
"What do you mean?" Susanna asked.
"Are you still pretending? What's your relationship with that rude male doctor at the hospital yesterday?" Aaron asked.
Susanna was stunned. She didn't expect that Aaron misunderstood her relationship with Austin.
A touch of mockery flashed in her eyes as she curled her red lips. "Mr. Abbott, you really have too much spare time!"
"I'm just kindly reminding you, that male doctor is very popular in the hospital, especially with female doctors, nurses, and patients. He's only treating you well so he can sleep with you. I'm reminding you not to be too arrogant," Aaron said.
Susanna couldn't believe what she was hearing and almost burst out laughing.
"That's great. It means that the male doctor is good, which is why there is so much competition," she said.
Susanna hadn't realized that Austin was so popular. She would have to ask him about the reason for his singleness when she got back home.
After speaking, Susanna turned around. "I'm going to see Maria."
"Wait. Finish the prenatal examination first," Aaron said.
Upon hearing this, Susanna's face changed slightly.
